Another cool firsty with fitting music! Keep it on :)

The content and rendering is neat enough. Not super high quality but there's ambition which kinda matters more anyway, especially at the beginning. Whatever the camera is doing is just weird though, and the music is a smattering of 4klang presets which brings the impression down a lot along with the fact that nothing is really happening.

Still:

Great for a first intro.

While I was coding it, the placeholder music was KevinSpacy. It fit so well, I ended up using the same presets and bpm to retain the feel.

Cameras - yeah, last minute because it was even less varied before that. I had higher artistic vision than time/ability/bytes, but learnt a ton of stuff and will be back for more after a short break

Ossom stuff!

So basically everything you see can be summed up with the screenshot because it's ~3 minutes of the same thing stretched out :(

Also, wait, are your caustic rays screen space? They certainly looked like so ;(

Gargaj : while you're right on both counts there, it's my first 4k and my first time writing shaders. Our usual coders are otherwise occupied so it's been a mostly solo effort with some debugging help from Psonice/CRTC

I'll never be up to the level of the big names in 4k/64k but I had fun, I learned things and I enjoyed the demoparty. Isn't that what we're all here for after all?

Well done on getting it over the line pal. I imagine you'd have had a little more polish time if you weren't working your ass off at the organization area at the party.

Definitely impressive effort for a first intro, but should have either had some variation or restraint on the duration. On the other hand, that music needs some runtime too.

Won't vote as I helped out a bit with this, but I'll just say it was great to see bossman go from zero shader coding (and zero PC demos I think?) to this in a pretty short time :D

Yep, one can hear the KevinSpacy in this soundtrack! ;)
About the visuals: You should have tried to get rid of the artefacts, just march a fraction of the calculated distance, like "p+=d*.0.5;" ;)
Other than that there´s nothing to dislike, except it could have had more content, but you just started, you´ll soon find where to gain more bytes for more content!
splendid first shaderTro there! keep em coming!

good shit. the jellyfish turned out really well, and i like the artifacts on them. again, i am angry that my excuse for being to old to learn shader coding is gone, damn you!

@hardy it's already doing that, reducing the stepping broke the background, and the deadline arrived before we could do more :)

Wicked first prod. Really nice shading, caustics, etc. Really well done, you should be proud broski!!! All it needs is bit more happening and it's game on. Wicked sauce.
