the second demo i ever saw ... very cool :) it had a scroller that moved over the workbench screen, a nice big in japan .mod-cover and it would stay resident in memory until you switched off your amiga.

nothing more to add, you are true Robotriot :), it's a very old time demo, so just a vote ;']
fuck. still remember that one. am i that old?
Nice, cool, fantastic! I loved it and this was one of the first real amiga demos i saw. I WAS IMPRESSED. Ahh, nice memories. Cool music, gfx and code. Yep, rulez!!
A small complement, for scene newbies :
"scroller that moved over the workbench screen" means : part of the demo had a fully overlayed multitasking effect, featuring drop shadow scrolltext.

Oh man! Can we do such a scrollie running in front of windows desktop???
One of the first demo I run on my beloved a500..
The scroll-on-the-workbench was very impressing. The lens effect too.
I like also the part of the scroller on the screenshot -> "Laurent, t'as une tête de noeud".. :-)

Nearly twenty years after its release, I just found myself singing the "Wild Copper" music. An inspired classic, still fondly remembered today.
Well, thumb up... It was one of the very first demo I watched when I bought my Amiga and as far as I remember I watched it many times!
Bon bah.. Les gars de WCC a l'époque ils m'avaient donné un coup de main dans la bouche, quoi.
i remember this from the old days. must have been one of the 1st demos i saw.
Its ok - I have probably seen it too late, but it did not impress me much.
the amiga speaking... the mod rulez one of my fav tunes, the line vectors r great also.
One of the first demos I saw on the Amiga. Wild Copper ... The tune was tracked using ST-01 sounds and the integration with the workbench (multitasking!) was a thrill. Totally rulez!
Thumbs up for nostalgia!
Type "RV" in the RVb demo and discover a hidden scrolltext..
"a" for being #1 in gtzScrollah, gniark :)
What a classic!

One of the very first demo I saw on Amiga. A classic gem.
by the way, it is called "Megalo Demos"
(which can be found on the original bootblock intro)

The first thing I ever got to run on my A500 next to the games found in the original pack I got.. Watched it for hours and read all the scrolltexts. Impressive for its days and still a joy to watch - altho the workbench scroller crashes in all its glory if you try it on something above 1.3
Think this one might have been running in a french computer shop called Tecsoft - they're bragging about having the fastest amiga in europe with a 68030. In 1988 :-)
I LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!
An MP3 of the StarScroll demo is available here (for as long as one person downloads it a week, so it could be here for a while, or gone in a fortnight !):

And in case anyone is wondering, this is the demo with the immortal "This is Amiga Speaking... W... W... W... W... Wild Copper" sample.

Worbench friendly, all effects are in real time, funny scrolltexts, 1988 ! Lot of fun when watching this demo.
"Laurent t'as une tete de noeud...et une toute petite queue!" ;)

Classix :D
The spinning mouse pointer from hell!
I was so impressed by this disk when I first saw it. It still holds up today, as in I'm not bored with it. Does anyone have the disk with the original intro on it?

ah yes, old memories from early days in the amiga 500 world. rockZ ....1988-2008 yes... 20 years =]
Once again StingRay saves the day! <3
Nice of them to include the source for the reset part on the disk hehe...
wa wawa wawa wild copper, I love you
I saw these as separate demos, and didn't know they were released together at first. Had I known that, my head probably would have exploded.
Rocks, of course!
Wild Copper "I love You"...
Rulez !

W-w-w-Wild Copper! This is Amiga speaking!

First demo i ever saw on Amiga. Made me want to participate in the demoscene.
Man this was hhhhhHOT back then, put television volume to max and..
Wow, what an advanced prod for 1988! Is the scrolltext being magnified behind the blue balls int the beginning the first lenz effect?
I I'll have to go to a desert island and I'll have to choose one demo, I would take this one.
Classic!!!!
Classic indeed!
awwww... the early beginnings.... could not get enough of this one, back then.
Woah. Did'nt know this one. Great effects for 1988.
"Final is coming soon!" - yeah, some things never change it seems. :p
I remember being awestruck by the lens effect back then, and I still enjoy the music in the WB scroller screen.

Heavy but cool ! :) This demo is a classic.
Genius.
W- W-W- W-W- Wild Copper (I love you)
A milestone of demoscene history, years ahead of its time and often imitated.
Can't believe had not thumbed this up yet! One of the first demos I got, amazing tunes and very '88 style!
Pretty cool!
I recently salvaged an old A500, beautiful machine from June 1987 and the first software I tested on it was this demo. Had it running for about an hour and just couldn't stop. So much great memories. One of the most influential productions to me personally.
Didn't know this one, but knew the modules. Now I know where's the mod.Big in Japan coming from. Maybe.
Error opening Warm Start: 121 --- is this expected?
THE BEST MUSIC EVER!!!
Wild Copper - I love you!
Yup! :)
Precious antique. Fantastic what WC (oops, the acronym doesn't sound
so cool) did in the beginning of the early Amiga demo era. My favorite is
definitely the yellow ball scroller.
