Even with knowing some of the stuff beforehand, i didn't expect it to be THIS good. Really excellent work everybody! ♥
...what marlowe said...especially for that platform...
Didn't look too special but it got me in the end :) - some really nice scenes in here!
Neat psytrance demo on the Raspberry Pi
needs to be 8 minutes long :D
what sensenstahl said, but longer.
never imagined that a raspi is able doing those fancy visuals!
raspi reference demo.
what Virgill and wysiwtf said!
That's really cool, tech and all. :)
I enjoyed that bigtime, thanks for the Deadliners greet aswell, we appreciate it.
Wooooh! Very good codewise, gfx wise and music wise!
nice one for this little machine :)
It's like an old TBL demo!
Excellent 'demoish' demo. Ticks all the goa/psy clichés. :)
Very nice! Raspberry Pi just became a cool machine for demos :)
Cool
GREAT
Nice one guys!
Best RPi demo so far + platform thumb. More!
Psybakúrt jóság.
nice flow, good work!
amazing!! somehow I think about Stash / TBL, maybe because of the song & colors... my favorite part (which seem one of the easier one) is at 1:25... but the design of it is innovative!
Nice psychedelia. Raspberry Pi is a great demoplatform.
Trippy coolness!
Excellent pyramid scene
Quality psytrance antics! I liked the snakescene best and perhaps the sierpinsky pyramids!
Mushrooms!
Wow, 90s style psy demo (not a bad thing :) but with *very* cool visuals for the pi!
very good!
Excellent, massive respect!
lovely
Nice demo with tasty psy tune! :) Congratulations!
Maali = instant thumb up
(test him more on animals ;)
Great going.. keep on doing the organizing job mister b5.. (i know how hard it can be) cheers!

sweet
neat, although could be even a bit more trippy in my opinion.. :)
Raspy!!!

Blew my mind even in "slow" mode on rpi1. Compability note: requires Raspbian Jessie with libsdl1.2, Wheezy will not do. Don't be deprecated ;)

What visy said. Also, the circle infinite zoomer-thingy looked stellar. Special kudos for that.
I'm gay for trance demos.
Nice. :)
What wysiwtf said!
Psychedelicious!
totally cool!
Awesome with some really cool effects!
Awesome demo! I'll have to show this one off to a few friends running on one of my RPi 3s, blow some minds. :D Rulez.
The 00s called, they want they trance demo back. Good RPI demo.
Enjoyable :)
I totally dig this <3
Splendid demo!
I think you used the RasPI for what it was made for, atleast demoscene-wise, which is going back to the midskool and deliver some kickass psyTrance-Demo(s).
I mean: Hardware like 15 years ago <-> Demos like 15 years ago! :)
Now i demand you to make like 10-20 more of these until it gets boring again or sth! ;)

Nice stuff.
I would prefer constant full framerate. Now it's smooth only in 3-4 parts, and slower-faster-slower-faster oscillation through most of the parts. It doesn't feel completely like a Raspi demo, if it doesn't even run smoothly, and there are ports for other machines. :)

Raspi 2. I have it set to a 720p50 video mode. Does the demo try to change the mode? If that's even possible. If it's 50 Hz, then it should be easier to achieve full framerate. Anyway, to me it doesn't make sense not to try to get full framerate, or even a steady fixed framerate. In a demo that is targeted at a very specific piece of hardware. If it was an Amiga OCS demo, the slower-faster-slower-faster pumping would be just lame. :)
Quote:
The target speed was 30fps on 720p on rpi2, it ended up faster, around 40fps.
I think 30fps is acceptable...sure, we are used to 50 on Amiga, but even 25 still looks fluid for the human eye. If it´s really fluctuating visibly i think it´s on your rpi² only?!
On a Raspberry 3 running Raspbian, no matter the amount of GPU memory allocated (i tried from 16 to 512 megabytes).
Here's what i got:
"Changing SDL_AUDIODRIVER to alsa.
Enthusiast Engine v1.2
Found dsr-rpsy.dpk
Starting the demo
* failed to add service - already in use ?"
Gfx driver installed; Glxgears works perfectly at 60 fps.

Hardy: I don't claim stuff about "the human eye", but MY eye says this demo has a fluctuating framerate, jerky moments, and even short pauses when a cross-fade between parts begins. I'd rather look at less complex stuff, but smoother, i.e. more beautiful motion. I know, not everybody is sensitive to it, just like some people are tone-deaf, as evidenced by the appreciation of a lot of the stuff made for the Atari POKEY chip. ;)
No need to get touchy. It's totally OK to be tone-deaf. A lot of people are like that.
There are POKEY tunes that are intune! They are usually by the polish masters and they don't have deep bass (which always fuxxed it up).
Hey, there are Pokey Tunes a) in tune b) not by Polish and c) including deep bass ;)
Blueghost:
Yeah, it seems to be an issue with OpenGL ES (all other OGLES examples i tested have the same problem). I checked a bit and found that the issue may be located in eglGetDisplay() i added a question at stackexchange regarding this problem, maybe there's a better solution than disabling the whole driver.
http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/56124/eglgetdisplay-fails-on-raspberry-3
PS: You demo runs as expected when the video driver is turned off, the framerate on the PI3 is acceptable, there's some severe slowdowns during scenes transitions but hw acceleration (i assume that without the driver enabled your demo runs with some software rendering fallback) should clear that problem once the driver is (hopefully) fixed.

didn't like it.
did like it.
Fogotten to thumb this up! It has great flow and more fidelity than I'd have expected from Raspberry Pi 2.
If I may ask, I tried to achieve shadow effects on Rpi when doing our previous prod. It turned out VC4 does not support depth texture and stencil buffers do not work correctly on RasPi. For this reason we switched to Odroid C1+.
I assume you solved the issue with color framebuffers? Would also explain the aliasing on the shadows, since this kind of workaround would be quite slow, which would limit the size of the shadow texture. In my tests, even using 2 channels for a fake 16-bit value was quite insufferable.

very nice
nice! love that circle graph zoomer part!
Great! <3 RasPi.
Great! Nice to see people targeting the R-PI.
Great, and more love to RaspberryPi!
well, the music...hmm
but graphics and colors are 👌👌👌

Fett!
proper goademo!
We really need more software to take advantage of the very capable GPU in the Raspberry Pi.
Completely tasteless and eye-/earcancerish, but that's what a psytrance demo needs to be so that's cool. Also platform thumb, obviously.
Good to see some psy one in a while.
A good show, if a little rough around the edges (because of the platform I assume?).

Awesome trip =)
awesome
Excellent pay demo and even better raspberry demo. Probably one of the few raspi demos I will watch more than once
*Psy demo

1997 was a good year
Nice and good to see demos on rpi!
