So using SAPI is still lame, but the intro itself is just so nice and smooth, and it would've worked without the speech as well, so thumbsup!

Minimalistic visuals backed by some excellent and atmospheric music. Very much to the point overall. Good 2001 tribute that doesn't feel forced at doing so at all.
Seems to be a thing these days to use SAPI. Seen at least three prods recently using it. First part is pretty good not sure it needed the 2001 tie-in but it it doesn't hurt anything. Overall nice.

Really cool audio work! Particularly love the instrument, that develops slowly over time. The general feeling I get from the soundtrack really matches the visuals, and even though it's based on Virgill's awesome work in 4klang, I still think you nailed it and got it to fit this particular intro very, very nicely! Great job on that. I'd be a hypocrite saying SAPI is lame, since we did that for Yermom 64k intro during the greetings part, too ;-)
Visually, it really manages to set a mood and keep us there. Even though there's really not much happening, what IS happening is very skillfully made, and it's very true to the film, this obviously is a tribute to.
All in all, a very nice 4k prod, and it's really a shame there wasn't a separate compo for 4k. No doubt you'd have won that :-)

starts massive, good sound, smooth visuals. not a fan of the speech nor the 2nd scene with the red orb. but hey, it is a 4k. so thumbs ups.
Really atmospheric piece, short but deep. HAL makes the ending very tense. Oh, and HAL rocks (even with SAPI, imho :)
