Elite!
huoh
once again a case of a jokedemo beating some decent works...
shouldn't have won :(
oh god..
Well, it's a jokeprod but it has some very decent stuff (a rotozoomer and 3d cubes on a TI-86, anyone?) and it actually is funny, especially the ending.
shit, i can't believe it won :(
public voting sucks once again...
diamondie, and you think that's something special?? a rotozoomer and wire cubes, HELLO!?!

funny and quite nice... maybe not the best in the compo, but certainly not the worst
who the hell voted this shit first?! next time we don't let those guages vote at all and have a 10 people group of well educated multimedia experts choosing the winners! the coders should be ashamed of putting this entry on and letting other people vote it...
Turns out that the VTI emulator actually runs this demo. You can download it at www.ticalc.org.
special thanks to dEpressio for submitting and commenting
the VTI emulator runs this demo but I suggest to turn the sound emulation off while there is no sound, otherwise it may not run smoothly. and if you exit the demo with the exit-button it may not work right on the next run (small bugs). I'll try to get that video file too if possible
also if you don't have the TI link cable (but still own the calculator) you can google for ti86.rom and should find it easily. I'll stop spamming here since it's plain stupid, thanks everyone and see you next year

Nicely demonstrates the big weakness with the ASM mobile compo - everyone completely underestimated the capabilities of the TI, and overrated some mediocre prods. You can emulate a Spectrum on it, for fuck's sake... guess I should have abandoned the oldskool compo and trounced everyone in this one instead.
gasman: You're just wrong in one thing, it's TI-89 that can emulate spectrum, not TI-86. TI-89 has a 10 MHz 68k processor and comparing it to TI-86 is just like comparing Amiga to Spectrum. TI-86 is using the same z80 processor than Spectrum for gods sake, what do you need emulation for?
Hey guys! Where can I download emulator to see the work which took the first place at Assembly'2003 mobile demo compo? After that I can comment this demo. Please, give me the URL to download emulator.
It was quite fun to watch at the party. A good demo, but didn't deserve the first place.
Something has to be done to the Assembly voting system. Much more emphasis on the jury, much less emphasis on non-sceners, I hope.

FUCKING SUCKS
Fucking does not suck. Neither does this product, but it's not that good either.
Nice, for a calculator.
TI sucks, get a life
TI SUCKS BIG TIME!!!
wtf???
destroy this shit!!! kill this system!!! wipe it off the planet!!!

heb dini frässe . . . .
[Entropia] it's for ti-86 and it can do DIGITAL SAMPLE PLAYBACK!
[Entropia] i can't emphasize that enough :)
[Entropia] i mean, the calculator has a 1-bit output and they did sample playback with it
Ownage...

i can just second MadenMann :)
So what? Digital sample playback on 1-bit output has been done with the PC speaker and ZX Spectrum many many years earlier. And besides, the Z80 in TI-86 runs much faster than the one in Spectrum, so the TI-8x should be capable of at least the kind of stuff we've witnessed in Spectrum demos.
However, the clueless audience is not the demo's fault, so I'm not going to thumb this down.

I can second that. The sample playback was never the main point but just a funny addition, harder stuff is somewhere else. However, the lousy screen pretty much eliminates nice raster effects that would work in Spectrum and the low-res effects in Spectrum that only edit colour memory area give it a certain advantage over TI-8x as a platform. I would almost dare to say they are quite even, but of course it would be preferred for the audience to recognize the interesting parts.
viznut: and suprise, it can: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/385/38513.html
Was ok
ok i guess
wtf?
1bit plasma :)
