In some places, the sync feels too much "automated" instead of artistically crafted, and maybe it's a bit too long for the conent it has to offer. Still, overall I like this a lot - nice and stylish effects with a solid tune!

Even way below the usual level for visuals and direction this is well worth the thumb! Loved the advanced rhythms at the beginning - could have easily used a bit more sync :D

For anyone wondering why this is, the soundtrack was actually written for the Executable Music compo at Nova, but last minute Smash managed to wrap a demo around it. We actually played the tune during the exe music compo as we weren't sure if he was going to finish, but he did, so I promptly disqualified myself from the compo. (yes I'm still a stickler for that kinda thing). The demo simply uses a render from Wavesabre.
When I get some time, I'll upload the original exe to scene.org

i was totally planning to show up to nova without releasing anything, then started sketching a day or so before the party and things started happening, and thought it would be nice to support the party with a demo, soo... i showed up at nova and bugged him into lending me a track - and it fit perfectly, so i quickly put it together. (and the ukscene allstars one. thats another story.)
thanks a lot to ferris and hoffman for letting me use it and going so far as disqualifying themselves from the compo they were actually supposed to enter. i didnt realise they were going to do that - in the olden days releasing demo soundtracks in the music compo was acceptable.. :)

As a fairlight demo, decent. As a party coded prod, outstanding... which just goes to show how much investing in your tools pays off :)

It is a little bit too abstract for me to be able to properly relate to. The word that comes to my mind when I watch it is "dexterity", mainly in the way how much control over complicated visuals there seem to be present here. It is very inspiring demo in this sense.

50 MB... but some good ideas, deserved more TLC and static background got to you after a couple scenes, but for a speedprod you spent the time on the right stuff! Certainly good enough for a thumb - the start piqued interest, and the sweep face tried for a classic shot.
I'm a bit torn. It does look good and the tech is superb and flexibe, but I can't glean anything else from it. It's just...a thing, that... exists. One of those ones that fits the mold of "good but I don't like it".

I'm also a big fan of those effects I cannot tell how they're done and this demo has alot of them, I assume it involves rendering the mesh to a 3D texture and use that as a base to determine where to render cubes/spheres for the later scenes. It's probably something else though, great puzzle - thank you :)

Weak thumb for the music and the first 30 seconds or so of everything together, after that the demo just slows down to a halt and piggybacks on the soundtrack and the raw eye candy of the rendering. The visuals feel too random and certainly can't keep up with the soundtrack in terms of both depth and pace.
It would've been more at home in the 64k space, but even then the hasty direction would prove a problem in case of a serious competition.
