it's the hypnoeye/rrola 0xcccd trick to get workable coordinates indeed.
This was shown with dosbox at the party since running in on freedos would make it run too fast and couldn't fit in the vsync after being fed up with the heat in the party hall.
There should officially be an 8x8 128 char font in an ibm compatible bios at 0xf000:fa6e, my delll latitude laptop at the party seemed to work. Although it's
nvidia bios had the issue that color 255 was white so the salc trick didn't work.

i put some further effort into it
- using 10h to obtain font info
- fixing the left border of chars
- syncing to the timer instead of vsync
- some sizecoding magic

as a result, it's equally fast and readable on all systems
is 128 bytes, and works on (my) FreeDos notebook
still nothing on my XP notebook, but that one is really
weird anyway :D

brought this down to 116 bytes, to put VGA sync in
then it's back to 125 bytes ;) routline_opt.asm
i'm curious how this was shown, the font address does
not work on either WinXP or FreeDos, but neither does
my alternative (0xC010 instead of 0xFFA6) Both work
flawlessly in DosBox though =)
