I'll comment later, after testing this game properly, but for now I must point to the fact that the screenshot show us a wrong initial position. Look at the squares of the king and the queen!
And I don't believe that this is a case of coder colors... WHITE TO MOVE.
Must be correct if this were RED to move, because in chess, the player with the queen at the left of the king must do the first movement.
