trace: yeah, the gamedev compo is a part of assembly 2003 even though it takes place before the actual party, you still get to vote for the entries at the party though.
I can't help but feel partially responsible (: And no it's not the same game at all - it's the same concept but it's FAR more fun. My best looking one involves a dual smash into the wall, then flipping about the cab, falling out, and finally getting crushed under the truck. this game RULES!

I think what's more fun with this than trying to get a high score is all the tricks you can do. Like flying over the wall,the truck to land on you, or my favorite, doing a BACKFLIP into the truck and staying in. (hint: position 6, off the tall end of a ramp)

Yes, replays of the online highscores would make it harder to cheat. And it would give you a fair chance to figure out how to get the high scores.

I'm not sure if I want to enable replays for net high scores. Some of them are anyway bound to be cheated ones (with help from memory editors and/or softice :), and it would be quite a big CPU load to server to actually run the simulation for the score submits.
If I have time to make an external score validation daemon which would automatically clean up the score lists eventually, then it could be viable to put up the possibility for watching replays from the net. But still, I think that would give too much hint about the best scores so that pretty quickly everyone would be around the same score amounts, don't you think so?

dubmood, "no highscorelist upload webthinghie"? Press the "Scores" button to get a local score list, and press it again to get it to net scores mode. Have to admit that the UI isn't exactly self descripting there.

Not as fun as Stair Dismount was.
Way more fun than Stair Dismount. Although graphics aren't the main thing in games like this I would love to see this with decent models :-)

Found a cool thing though, if you put the guy on the floor, and put a ramp so his legs are inside the top of the ramp, it launches the guy into the air. You can then turn off the windscreen, get the truck to hit the guy when he flies up, bounce him off the wall and catch him in the cabin.
Prod gets a piggie, cause it's a rehash of last year's prod, it's not as much fun, and you can't see what parts of the body took damage any more.

It's okay, nothing really new. The novelty has worn off, although the physics are pretty good. It would have been nice to summarize the damage as in last years prod.
