Cocoon always delivers!
Totally wrecked the compo!
You are so freaking awesome. Another interesting high quality production that kicks everybody's ass. Respect.
In your face! (i do recognize influences from the last 4-5 Cocoon pc demos)
Keep bringing such a great demos!

fucking enormous
Very Cocoon in both good and bad. Seemed a bit "seen before" and got dull towards the end, but there's no denying the top quality production values.
this one is huge! immersive environment plus monstertune ♥ love everything about this =)
well done guys
Holy shit this was fantastic!
the forward-cam-city-scene is totally dope. And a couple of others jaw-dropping scenes too.
Great stuff.
Great stuff.
After the first scene I thought "more of the same", but then you hit me directly into the face. The city scene is awesome and so are most of the other stuff. I love the pace, I love the visual quality and finally there's an amazing drum 'n bass soundtrack in an AAA production again. That's all a bit like 10 years ago, but holy shit, I'm totally blown away!
I rarely find much interest in PC productions but this one was great on the big screen!
neato track, interesting visuals, all is good
Some of the scenes are too long, but all of them are pretty damn awesome. Big tune as well.
What urs said. <3
It's about time Cocoon realized that uptempo fits them better ;)
Really impressive demo, massive in-your-face impact! The visuals look stunning with a professional feel to the rendering.
A bit surprising (in a good way) to see such a blockbuster demo released at a comparatively small party, this is the kind of stuff you expect to see on Revision.
I do have one problem (if I recall correctly I had this issue with some previous Cocoon demo as well) - if I select any non-native res, for example 1280x720 and try to run it fullscreen, the demo runs with the wrong aspect ration, I get a 4x3 deformed image with black bars on the side.
Running native (2560x1440) or in a window with lower res gives correct aspect ratio.

I'm a bit torn honestly... again... The engine still obviously rules*, but I can thumb up the engine itself only so many times. Nothing wrong with the graphics either, in fact most of it looks spectacular. I can't even fault the colors or color grading this time, ace all around.
My problem is how all of the content is used. The cameras either don't make much sense or are utterly dull, just rotating around the subject placed on center of screen or flying directly forwards. Then there's the flying through the tunnel with jarring flashes and cuts. The penultimate scene with the ribbon formations is superb though, almost alone redeems all faults. The hyper fast pace is somewhat refreshing too, though still by far my favorite recent cocoon demo is pretty much the antithesis of this.
I'm also not a fan of the mirroring at all. I get it though, I use it too, but I don't think it does justice to the visuals. I feel the trick works best when you abstract it away well enough so that the underlying visuals become indecipherable, but here it was just from time time time slapped on top.
The audio didn't do anything for me. Just cheese in one ear and out the other. Not a bad track in its genre though, I've heard far less memorable examples.
All in all big thumbs up for the graphics work and overall visual quality, and for now a large "meh" for the presentation side. Might change in the future, but I'm too irritated at the moment. I do enjoy this quite a bit more than the Revision demo though.
(* well, if it worked, I don't recall being able to run any of the modern Cocoon demos, all crash with a segfault or something similar)

great visuals, not my fav. music.
excellent
What noby said about how the content and cameras are used. I love dnb but was a bit disappointed when it showed up here. I preferred the slower paced cocoon demos a lot more and think this would have worked better with a slower direction / soundtrack as well. This one was too hectic to watch at times (camera and flashes).
Still thumbs up for amazing graphics, tech and overall production quality. The cable and city scene were very nice.

awful music.
Oh my god !!! this prod is perfect
Crash after 1st frame, then screen goes black, sound keep playing. Tried windowed/full screen, many res, with/without FXAA, disabled RivaTuner OSD and disabled Aero. Win7 64, GTX 660 (driver 368.81), 3 X LCD.
typical very polished cocoon prod. some very nice scenes and some not so nice ones. music is ... okish i guess. overall the demo left me cold. a nice looking empty shell. too bad. oink.
Lovely stuff!
bright! superbright!
Teh music, what is this insanity!! \o/ Great cut to the city-flythrough!
Amazing visuals, great direction. Such great rendering!

OMG what a blast! Awesome scenes and visual quality :D
This was awesome on the big screen :) Very brutal!
What noby said, this one is a bit of a love/hate thing for me. And I'd also add the badly timed tunnel scenes to the list of flaws, where you can see the point where the camera/animation jumps back to the beginning of the loop.
Overall it's a solid thumb though.
ps. I really miss a vsync option, the screen tearing is irritating sometimes.

running the demo gives me a black screen and only music like previous cocoon demos of the last ~2 years.
coz we stopped lovieng you 2 years ago
loving
Wow. Visually really impressive. It all looks so good and polished. I liked the music too. But just like noby I think the content could've been used a bit better. Although I did quite like the music.
Worthy winner. Don't like the music though.
I thought I could never write this again since 1999, but awesome reactor scene!
Reactor are forever : like tunnels and spikeballs

quite pointless

Nice!
Pretty cool despite its tunnel-related deficiencies.
Whoa. So much stuff.
I was blown away by this. Cocoon RULE!
While I really enjoy the energy, as well as the visual style, the demo almost outstays its welcome. Still, great polished work.
Awesome!
Windows 7 64b, GTX 970.
It's too bad to have to watch this on Youtube, with all the detail lost in a muddy video.
It's cool to see here some of the light effects no other tech can do. I also liked the mirror effect (although it wasn't exploited to its full potential), the city blue tunnel, and the final cable scene.
that was awesome!
loved the metaballs and the final cables scene much

Always the same, always different.
Boooooooooooooom! Cocoon domination :)
Hellfire : thumb up for the quote
Love the demo but the music left me cold
Cool , with killer lighting !
It was a wise choice to release this at Solskogen where an experienced proctologist ist present to deal with this level of asskicking
+Soundtrack: thought it was done by H0ffman until credits rolled in. <3 Rorque
+Being able to supply interesting visuals to such a high-energy track. <3 NTSC Extra thumbs up for nearly-readable scrolltext/fonts and the subtle textures ^^
+boobs ... errr ... bloobs ... errr ... blobs. Cannot get enough of these polygonal backgrounds+raymarched foreground scenes since Cocoon returned, graphics and especially music sell the demo but the effects are what really make your prods great Demos <3 Guille
-tbh yes this must be said: cutting the song by 1 minute and some filler cams (in the tunnels near the end) would have made the demo even stronger, at the time the tunnel + credits roll in the music has grown old and repetitive and it would have been better to end earlier.
Please do not take this as offense (instead take it as constructive criticism), this complaint is like whining that the cherry ontop is just dark purple and not black. Congrats, well deserved 1st place!

ok
Great ride!!
fucking ace! so many content and great scenes! killer visuals and sync! <3
this was great, but enjoyable just through youtube, on my quite beefy machine it ran really sub-par and ultra low FPS
Fantastic stuff!
last minute was great
Really nice-looking! It more or less looks the same as all recent Cocoon releases, so no thumbs up for innovation. However, as long as things look (and sound) *this* good I guess there's no reason for complaining at all :)
what sagacity said
+ in contrast to gargaj i'd say that downtempo fits cocoon better. :-)

Enjoyed it a lot at the compo! Nice music and pace! :)
@ntsc_: I could run it. The problem is weird though: after some googling, I tried running it as an administrator. It didn't work but this time I had a more explicit error, about it being unable to load d3dcompiler_47.dll. Yet DX was properly installed and that this dll was present. Anyway, I copied the dll in the demo's folder and it could run just fine. So I don't really understand what happened in here.
Side note: as zoom noted, the tearing is really damaging the experience.

Tried the d3dcompiler_47.dll in folder trick. Went from freezing demo to complete PC hard crash (it shouldn't have made any difference, but it did, somehow...). No blue screen, just black screen and looping noise, had to hit the reset button. :(
Apparently this was tested only on Win 10 and Win 8.1. I guess cocoon's demos will be off the menu for me until Windows 7 compatibility is assured as the risk of files corruption due to PC crash far outweigh the pleasure of viewing their demos running in real time. So youtube it is for now on. :(

Beautiful/awesome/super. However a bit too fast paced with fade to white flashes. Rocks max.
Thumbing this for the excellent rendering tech and modeling.
yep, summon the proctologist
Decent. :)
Nice demo with metaballs and great music and all that is needed
Kick ass!
I kept telling you alike: "Your tech is perfect, pacing, graphics, musics, all fine...just misses some effects...it´s all flyby!" ...and you seem to have heard me! :) Since you release Demos with Effects you keep winning Compos!
I love your stuff, keep ´em coming! :)

hot colourscheme and some original scenes. track kicks!

Same old, same old. Solid, impressive, repetitive. Music sucks this time - too long, too boring, too repetitive. Fate of recycled demos :) Clear compo winner.
I liked it. It’s very well directed and pretty badass. However, I’d like to see something different from you… ;)
Looks really great and the soundtrack does kick some serious ass but it could have done with a little trimming. Also really could have done with a crash cymbal at the end of the soundtrack.
Blow in the face at party place. One of my favorite Cocoon demo with out a doubt. So clean cut crisp and with a soundtrack that made even Lug00ber jizz in his pants behind the sound system control board :P
this is the bomb!
Kick ass again, great pace and visuals !
Music not my cup, but effects were ossom!
What zoom said.
Thumb up for guille code and effects!
The rest, oh well, let me just say it was simply hard for me to enjoy, I've tried, I've tried hard. It's not that it's fast or supposed to be kick-ass, bad-ass or whatever. That would be fine... if done right. This is just too simple, too obvious, too "we have seen it already", etc... but it's just me. And again - visually (all presented scenes) look really awesome!

what a trip!!!
loving the visuals and tune even more.

nice demo
Quite nice.
i don't ever want to leave this terminal
Great soundtrack, a cool theme but some scenes were somewhat boring.
In overall a very enjoyable demo.

i like this one, the music works great for me!
current value!?
Great!
Nice!
+ Massive at the bigscreen.
+ Nice visuals and soundtrack
- Some annoying flashing should have been removed

Hm but I want to run it on my performance rig! Which runs all demos with the one 8.1 dll added, now that I turned to the dark side. ;) Anyone sorted the Win7 x64 crash?
Go Go Go
massive fast paced demo by demoscene elders. 4 thumbs up.
Dat lighting
Well, I just can't ge tenough of those polished-to-perfection scenes. Mixing it up with some kaleidoscope vision does feel fresh and makes those fly-by scenes even more impressive.
I'm normally not vor for the Cocoon style, but the kaleidoscope tunnel zoomer thingies here were honestly cool. Cheap or not. Music was kind of meh, but overall it's still a thumbs up.
^ Watched it now when it won the demoklubi award.
epic demo geez
Great demo, should have voted earlier (I just realised the track uses some samples from Alien Resurrection btw, fits the style perfectly!)
Flashes a bit too much, esp when viewed on a projector in a darkened room, but boy what a ride. One of my cocoons fabs for sure
Track is just too good. MachineCods are masters.
The visuals go well with the whole composition.
Felt pretty nice and thematic, but not jaw dropping.

Perhaps slightly too long but it was the obvious compo winner, miles ahead of the competition. Very nice to experience it from the front row.
