Screenshot thumb. Waiting anxiously for video capture.
Phantastic!
Kickass!
Mind-blowing stuff.
Quite interesting.
Great effect, fantastic and fun midi-acid! Among the best recent 1ks.
fantasmolytictastic
Thank you for sending it. Wonderful visuals.
Inside a Ferrofluid. Pretty cool and fitting sound with some nice visuals.
I spent way more time on this than I'd like to admit :) It's been laying around on my harddrive since last fall but I never got around to releasing it.
Obviously right after I submitted my entry I found a way to get rid of a couple more bytes.. So that's why the actual filesize shown during the compo didn't match the description. The zip linked here has the 1006 bytes version though.
Video capture is coming up soon(ish), capturing and encoding is taking its sweet time even if it's just 1:45...

1- Must disable Aero/desktop composition in Win7 64. If not, only sound with black screen.
2- As per documentation: "For optimal experience, sit close to your screen and don't quit until you feel sick." I agree, this is vomit inducing indeed.
3- Use midi for sound. I guess that "cheat" (size limited demo accessing external content) explains the above average graphics for a 1KB production. I have CoolSoft virtualMidiSynth installed with a dozen soundfonts. The prod sounds drastically different depending on the soundfont used. Older analogue soundfont give superior results (Sound Blaster/OPL3). The "Roland sc-55.sf2" is best IMO.

1) Must be something on your system (and perhaps others too) but I don't have to disable anything here. Does this go for both the compo and safe versions?
2) Can't say I didn't warn you ;)
3) Using midi is standard for 1k intros. Certainly all of the most popular ones use midi. Not feeling the least bit bad about this :)

Youtube compression doesn't seem to be this intros friend :(

Only when you have a second monitor and you don't start the intro in native resolution.
Does it happen for both versions or just compo? And do both screens go black or just one of them? And is it a common problem with 1ks it just this one?
Sounds like it should be an easy fix, at least for safe versions.

quite nice!
very cool!
snq: see here - I didn't know about it for a while either.
sexy
Wow ... 1k? ... Wow!
Aardbei! Always good to see snq prods pop up!

Thanks for the link Gargaj.

great music for 1k!
Cool
Wait.. What? Aardbei!? Instant thumb (and its even good)..
I indeed have a 3 monitors setup. I must turn Aero off for most 1KB anyway. Both the 1KB and safe version act the same way if Areo is left on. My monitor 1 (the desktop), which is center in my case, goes black while the other 2 screens (left and right) remain visible.
I never realized, after all those years, that most (if not all) 1KB use midi... Shame on me. I guess the nature of your song, with an actual drum beat and synth, give it away where other 1KB "music" are usually only 1 instrument and much harder to tell it is midi.
Compensatory thumb up for my ignorance + superior graphics for 1KB + actual music with a drum beat and synth.

Don't feel too bad about it.. I didn't realise it myself until I looked at the source of some intro and the coin finally dropped :)
I'll try hooking up a 2nd screen and see if I can fix the multiscreen bug at least in the safe versions. I'm afraid that for compo versions it'll waste too many bytes.

The safe versions in the linked zip should now work fine on multiscreen setups.
Cost 5 bytes, a device reset after creating the shader (and before setting it) did the trick :)

wow!
Holy wow.
Safe version confirmed to now work with Aero on and multiple monitors. Well done.
Abstracticious!
Da Blob & Da Beat
kann man schon machen!
spacebender1k-safe-1920x1080.exe worked for my very old, Windows XP Pro SP3 with its ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB of VRAM & v9.4 driver). ;)
Music?
Perfectly fine on my GTX 9800+ which is always a plus =) As for the MIDI, i would have used another drumkit ;)
Nice.
AntDude, I never tested it on XP so thanks for the report :) I did test the midi code on XP at an early stage and it seemed way laggier than on 7 so I decided to not care about it too much ;)
Lovely dark evolving 'seastar' stuff, music is super slick for 1k, I love this one
Well used 1k!
looks very interesting, the volume slide adds a lot to this 1K
Oh, MIDI! I had that disabled. No wonder. Haha. Who uses that these days? ;)
AntDude, pretty much all 1k intros ;)
Funkiest freedir tunnel ever.
yeah!
Rodríguez ;-)
Pushing the limits of a 1k!
snq: Ah OK. I didn't know that. :)
Neat. And works out of the box, which is kinda rare for a 1k.
Nice!
Mindbending.
damn cool stuff! Love it!
hate the music but fuck is this cool :D
looks nice
Also mind-bending! :D
Good 1k!
The music!
