glöp
?
looks like a coding tutorial, not a 4k intro?
Uhm yeah, I doubt this meant to be a demo. No need to upload anything that opens a VGA screen and is small in size and treat as if it was a demo.
as yzi said... thus demotool would be more appropriate than 4k
it's ok. I learn some VGA tricks about 1993 ;)
Looks indeed like a tutorial.
thumb not rotate
saga_musix: still this is an executable demoscene release and thus belongs here.
ok as a 1993 coding tutorial
crap as a 4k intro, obviously
should everyone start digging for coding tutorials and enter them as "intros"?
anything that is executable, is automatically a demo? bullshit

yzi, i think we differ in our opinions on the purpose of pouet as a demoscene archive.
my position on this (as long-time pouet moderator) is: if it's produced in a demoscene context, has an executable that produces visual effects, and was "officially" released (e.g. has an infofile, was spread on boards), it is a demoscene release and thus belongs here.
other glöperators are free to have a different opinion.
and if these things should not be welcome here, we will gladly welcome them over at demozoo.

Stinks!
This shouldn't be here as it's not an intro in demoscene context, the executable looks like it was just produced as an example for one of the VLA tutorials. It definitely wasn't released as a 4k intro!
Well might be that I made a mistake adding this. But since it is part of hardcode.zip and there is a info file I thought it has some connection to the demoscene :) I mean there are so many prods without any background information - also here at pouet.
Is there a good way to check stuff like that? And I don't mean a thread where something is posted and 10 people got 20 different opinions plus 5 pouetizing pictures :D

whether it belongs here or not is one thing, but presenting it as a 4k intro is misleading
i think the demoscene is a subculture, and primarily about people, culture, relationships, intentions etc. and so you need to think about what's the intended purpose of something, and to me it seems that the intended purpose of this particular production was most likely not what is commonly meant by "4k intro" - i might be wrong of course
of course if you just look at its technical properties, sure: size, executability, ...
if i add an executable prefix to my pouet comments, i wonder if they become demos ;)

Sensenstahl: I actually don't mind things like this being added here but it shouldn't be judged as intro. Because it isn't an intro. :) My comment wasn't to be taken personal anyway! :)
And in a way these things are scene related because who knows which coder of a famous production looked at these tutorials and learned something? :P

@StingRay: Haha, I did not take that personal. Why? Thank god it's not my code :D
But I get the point of you guys :)
@dipswitch: feel free to add it at demozoo, it will stay uploaded where it is :)
