Nice demo with great music, enjoyed it!
Ouch. This completely fails where the original GITS movies & TV intros succeeded. It's like watching a 10 year old trying to emulate Kubrick. Adorable and sincere, but compared to the sources of inspiration an empty and cringe-worthy exercise, lacking style, maturity and skills.
Beautiful work, really deserves a thumb.
Nice looking demo, and great music, pleasant to see.
Thx Unix for releasing it at Evoke 2014. I know it's a challenge when we pass the 40's, have family and fulltime job, with few time to spend on our demomaking hobbies. I congrat you for your perseverance, moreover working alone on the demo, developing the tools, and making the jump between the old school software rendering way to the DirectX/GPU programming way ;-)
It was nice to be there and meet us together after 16 years since Wired 98 ;-).

Only sound on my PC (Core i7 / W8x64 / GTX 680 / 1600x1200 max). Seems that my the display of this demo needs more than my "poor" 1600x1200... Anybody else with that problem ? A tip to change that ? Thanx !
Nope. It doesn't need a powerful platform. It's a DX9 demo. Tested fine during the party on an old Athlon64 X2, Geforce 8800GT and Win7, and on Unix's laptop with a Geforce GT850 mobile and Win8. Was lagging on the old VAIO laptop i brought there with Core2Duo and Intel Embedded Graphics (sucks), but was still displaying image and music. Working perfectly at home on my Core4Quad, Geforce GTX 680 and Win7 x64.
Try to lower the resolution to a 16:10 or 16:9 mode, like 1600x1050, 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

Great work, but this seriously lacks a proper direction
Very beautiful. Great visuals and cool music. You did a good work!
@typeone : Tried on my second monitor (1600x900) and that worked very fine ! Beautiful ! So, just a "problem" with resolution. :)
Titten
Boy, that was random. The music was downright gastly (I actually had to mute it to get through the demo, sorry). The visuals are a very mixed bag. There are elements of cool things here, but they are just very badly misused (especially the motion of objects and cameras are... well, terrible.).
That said.. there's clearly a will to make something here, which is sorely needed in the scene these days, so pigface it is.

what gloom said.
O_o--b
I liked this, I think the style end effects are nice. Perhaps a bit too long for what is essential just variations on the same few effects but still a good effort.
should have ranked higher...
Is this an homage to the homage that is Project 2501? Either way, using an image that you "borrowed" for the demo as a screenshot is tacky at best...
nice.
You know what would've been nice? Taking the viisuals and the music out for a coffee before the demo to introduce them to each other.
Also this gave me a idea for a new YouTube channel: demos where there's a loud *CLONK* sound whenever a camera hits a jarringly linear interpolation point.
Music was once again used in Sector Omega demo - The Message.
Yes Joss music score is great, but reusing same music once again is shitty idea

That explain the deja vu that I felt when I saw the stream. I said on IRC that the music sounds very familiar to me.
Too bad they reused a soundtrack of another demo. Damn.

YES, please. <3
nice
What gloom said, and gargaj. And yet still, there is something here that almost touches that something in me that wanted to make demos in the first place all those years ago. One of my favorites this year.
I agree with Gloom, clearly some passion and an actual concept were involved. However, the flaws in this are so glaring I can't not thumb this down. The logo in the end (good work from AD as always but 100% out of place with the preceeding visuals) was the final nail in the coffin.
Great music and cool visuals, but really lacks direction. Way too many boring spirals!
What break said. And Yay! for *CLONK* channel! :)
Nice demo and nice music :)
got bored after a minute
nice!
at the beginning final audition popped in my head. demo is not perfect but overall quite nice. so thumbs up :)
Strange - I get the black screen thing too - win7/gtx760 - lg monitor - it looks like it's about to start up, and then the screen just fades - (tried several desktop res adjustments too)
i smell some potential here
Great demo despite sopme minor flaws (e.g., the screenshot part doesn´t fit the rest)
Very nice demo. Hoodlum shows some good stuff here, better than doing nothing like most of the old or recent grps :)
nice
