Did you use NoteBuffers? As i just fiddled around with em, they seem to be almost for free! Was like 30 bytes in a 4k here, INSTANT-crinkler-compressed, so i guess it is even less of a byte-waste if you let it iterate a lot! (But also my Test-Music is as repetitive as it gets, so it could be misinformation i am providing here! ;) )
I think you did it without noteBuffers, but a slight modification in your 4klang-clone...or maybe just with the normal EnvelopeBuffer, triggering stuff on different instruments! Anyway, result rocks!

@wullon: This intro is actually a quick production, started 2 weeks before nordlicht. I didn't care much for the size, since the nordlicht compo was labeled "Size-restricted", with a maximal file size of 64k. I'm very sure that this can be fit into 8k, given enough time and effort.

Any intention to maybe offer information on bytesCount wasted using the NoteBuffer? I guess you didn´t even care about comparing as you didn´t have to count bytes at all! :)

@xTr1m: I see. That's a really really cool quickprod then, really nice concept and execution, I watched it a couple of times already with is quite rare for <10ko prods!
@hArDy. It's the sum of things. 19 shaders. d3dcompile_43 fallback in case _47 is not available. 8 mipmapped textures. Append/Consume buffers for particles. Stateful particle system with buffer swapping. Line extrusion for particles in the GS. 40 floats synced by GNU-rocket (passed through to the shader via constant buffer). GNU-rocket player (usync). VS/GS/SO/ConstantBuffer pipeline for in-GPU camera matrix generation. 3D fbm. 4klang note and envelope buffers (4 used in shader). Complex music with loads of instruments. ShaderMinifier called with --no-renaming (due to some bugs there).
As I said, lots of that can be optimized away so that it all fits in 8k.

Very beautiful concept, and what hArDy said: Great to see some cool sync again! The tune, besides driving the visuals nicely, was very good in itself as well. Cool!
