i love it! especially the soundtrack. reminded me a bit on pre-1990's ozric tentacles.
amazing!
Awesome!
First impression: so ASD are into wild-animations.. and then. .FUUU!
loved it!
MORE! PLEASE!
loved it!
MORE! PLEASE!
The idea is brilliant and executed brilliant aswell.. Now back to that big one ;)
Navis for president! Brilliant concept, lovely execution.
So freakin excellent!
This is so lovely to watch, made me smile just about when I was getting too sad to my taste :)
nice art, but 'bad' as a demo, sure a nice watch for one time, but the lets use a hand to draw stuff isnt really that original or my cup of tea. sorry. Again its nice art. but from a technical viewpoint i like stuff that hasnt been seen before or push a platform. im also old and senile when it comes to demos.

I think the soundtrack sounds a bit like Ozric Tentacles too. In my opnion that's a very good thing because I am a fan of Ozric Tentacles! This was really nice - it's a cool idea and well-executed.
I perhaps would've lliked the hand not to be there or be in perhaps stylized differently, to be more fitting to the visual style. Stellar demo though, not an original concept but near impossible to beat that execution.
damn... this is very big entertainment!
cool :)
Just WTF!!! Utterly fresh concept - very well executed with another brilliant soundtrack... That's the spirit :) And now, more please of that :D
Great style as always. Music evolves quite nice.
Suberb!
nice.
I liked it. :)
when you see it !
That 3D arm was rendered so well! ;)
But seriously, I really enjoyed it. Good music, and it had a mass-appealing-animation feel to it.

Great concept and execution.
An innovative concept for sure.
Excellent execution, got heavy Ozric-vibes from the music as well.
Always original, rulez.
But i only watched on youtube. Can't run any ASD demos, i got the following error:
OMP: Error #15: Initializing libiomp5md.dll, but found libguide40.lib already initialized.
I already set the KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK=TRUE , but the same error occur.

Great!
Very very cool, a novel concept well executed. Also, kudos for running smoothly on my several-year-old laptop!
Very nice idea, it was well executed. At one point I saw some holes in the paper with colored flat objects passing (it did reminded me a bit the game tearaway where you can see yourself in holes on the paper) and I thought maybe there was an disclosure like the paper breaking and there is another world behind but there wasn't. Left me for wanting more, but still well done.
pretty ambivalent about this one, its the usual ASD storyline to me, same direction, same paths, although I do like the style / tech involved. It stands as an art piece in its own right though and is quite clever. :)
Wow, one of the best demos I've seen in a while!
Charming and well executed, liked this a lot :)
i like it, and also what phoenix said - I could see this to be enjoyable by non-sceners also.
Superb.
Awesome!
great!
Very nice concept, but I found the hand rather annoying after a while.
The line drawing looked a little bit glitchy sometimes.

Awesome visionary demo with cool soundtrack. True (demo)art.
really fantastic demo!
Hehe!
Yes
Very clever, great idea and execution.
Just beautiful !
Clearly shows why ASD is so important for the demoscene: They remind everyone that a good demo starts with a vision, not with the code or an effect framework. That's why most ASD demos have this analog feel to them, because they werent made for computer graphics, its just that computer graphics were used as a medium for the artistic vision. THAT's what great visual art is made of!
My only beef (as usual with ASD productions): The mastering of the music is very "flat", sounds too "sharp" and "dry".
BTW: I think I noticed a lot of receycled material from ASD demos of the last years? Its almost a little bit of a "mashup". ;)

"The paper world is the world of ideas (a demo in your head)."
... well, in this case in a playlist of ASD demos you could show this as a prelude first and then the demos which use the effects cited here.
The demos I think I saw cited in this "prelude":
- Beyond the walls of Eryx (wireframing)
- The butterfly effect (butterfly)
- The Wind Under My Wings (bird)
- Metamorphosis (ants)
Did I miss something?

Wonderful visuals and music as always from ASD.
Salinga: I think there is also the cheetah that was used in Spin, but it's only partly shown. You can see the head easily.
What am I saying. You can see it in the screenshot right there!
Great idea, executed brilliantly! Thank you!
fun
Enjoyed it immensely, never seen anything else quite like it. Brilliant.
very nice demo! and now i need to rewatch statix' paper 64k :D
I would appreciate if the YT capture from the makers of a demo is not replaced with a capture from someone else. Their capture should always be the first reference!
Wonderful visuals with well-executed feeling in the animations, typically excellent modelling work and a well-defined concept with good music. <3 Love it!
excellent prod ! i do make animated movies myself and i had a shock watching it ! so good and very good sens of directing. every demo stills suprising me and most this one due to style like animation movie. love it. thanx
Art!
Real demo art :)
Great concept and well executed. Not a fan of the music but that is alright :) Congrats on yet another nice demo!
Running with 200% font size on Windows 8 results in only seeing the upper left quadrant of the frame (1920x1080, GTX 760)
Otherwise not my thing

asdsome! =)
great concept, music and gfx but it goes on for a tad too long with the same same.
anyway, solid thumb!
anyway, solid thumb!
Nice!
Bravo !
I didn't know what to think about this demo (except it was really well done and polished as usual), but with Navis explanation about the concept I give it a solid thumb up :)
Fantastic.
Great!
so above the melee :')
This is Escherian even in a metalevel sense. Great demo, one of the best from ASD.
@Navis: Your medal is safe in my pocket. I'll bring it to you the next party. :]
Very weird timing artifacts here. The demo seems to run insanely fast for about a second, then wait for 1, then jump back by .3 seconds, then run for another second, etc.
I like the music a lot!
I like the music a lot!
excellent
my god...
the style of this is really cool..! original concept for a demo and very well implemented and polished.
my one criticism: it doesnt "go" anywhere. after a couple of minutes i realised i had switched off. it felt too long at just 4 minutes. felt like there was a missed opportunity here to take it to a next level. also im sure ive seen some of those objects etc before :)

At first I was a bit hypnotized, and after a moment I thought "wait, isn't there anything else in this demo ?". I was a bit disappointed.
Then I came here and read Navis' explaination, and it all made sense. It's good to have sometimes a reminder that demomaking is art.
So, "what rez said".

Conceptually original again!
Excellent concept & execution, but what las said (hand annoying after a while).
Indeed Navis' explaination helps to enjoy this.

absolutely gorgeous guys. especially love the music which is mindbogglingly well done <3 x10
Ace, but i wish it would draw a model, then let the model do sth. once done hand reappers to draw more...etc. Way it is right now is a bit confusing, as it never stops drawing new stuff, while one is still trying to grasp what just got drawn...
Classy as usual!
what they said :)
Really nice work ASD! reminds me the old Paper demo but with an arm instead of a pencil, but of course this one is more "Escherian" ^_-
The spazziness of the arm is super distracting and half the time it covers up the actual effect.
The music I really liked but it felt like it was a larger (~7-8 min) composition cut down to half fairly arbitrarily.

This is what i call art...
This would have been a thumb up if it was 1,5 min long instead of 4. Because I like espresso over americano.
Nice concept and excecution. And this time, even the drums and guitars sounded good... ;)
What alien said.
I really appreciate the effort and it's nice with a concept but for some reason this demo just doesn't work for me. I agree with Smash here that it starts out great but becomes a bit 'stale'.
Fully agree with Dixan, it certainly has a "hey cool!" factor but it just takes at least twice as long as it should.
What dixan and superplek said.
Seems like you only have a couple of meshes that you need to recycle/reference again and again. ;) Otherwise, sweet.
Gargaj: PWNED! :P almost quadrupled instead of cut down to half! ;)
awesome prod.
The hand-drawing-things concept itself is nothing new, atleast outside the demo scene, but very well done. But you got me when the holes in the paper appeared - brilliant, I love it!
I found the pacing of the drawing a bit odd for some objects, and especially the small "pauses" for some looked stange. But that's nitpicking. :)
The music was not my taste though and not very memorable, but I guess it's okay for this demo.

Not very escheresque in content or presentation, but overall good concept. The fast and jerky movement of the arm is distracting at times.
What an amazing concept!
Pretty nice & original demo.
waaaah how cool is that?? excactly this smooth balance between creativity and technical capability that never lacks to surprise (me) makes you guys the greatest superstars of the demoscene (imo)!
Nice one!
awesome demo is awesome
nice concept, fresh idea and well executed
A little more variety wouldn't hurt, but it looks gorgeous, especially with antia-aliasing. Some really cool music there too.
It seems idea, original idea, best "porn" for masses than using unused concepts I've engineered.
I've just finnished my water engine, and I've already seen smoke and clouds, made of mine.
It seems.

Very nice, I love that you actually did this Navis :)
Barti: shut the fuck up, you mental case.

..and the thumb.
Awesome as usual. I specially enjoyed this one.
Agree 100% with Salinga.

O_o--b
I saw the butterfly too :-) And something that looked a bit like the rhino from Happiness, but that's probably just an illusion.
nice one with a great soundtrack!
loved it
nice.
It's solid as per usual from ASD but I personally find it quite boring and the arm gets *really* annoying.
Still solid effort which stands out in this dry year demo-wise.

amusic: where is the fish? dont tell me there's no fish this time!!! :(
Nice, but watching a hairy hand for 4 minutes, really? ;P
Can you make a "pen only" version? Also please don't show pen all time, only when its not obvious (i.e. I liked the fact pen is moving objects from time to time, not just drawing).
Hi to graphist. Can't thumb this down for the sheer amount of work that went into it and its popularity, but really not my cup of tea personally.
That really felt like something new. Nice idea and execution. :)
Loved it!

Could have used more parts than one, but a nice idea well executed. Pleasant music.
would have been a worthy "walls of eryx" successor if it wasn´t killed by this horribly annoying background noise =P
content reuse from older releasers is fine if done with care like in this one, more variation on the drawing hand would have been nice though

@aMUSIC: And before someone else points it out, it's of course from Spin, not Happiness. My bad.
Fresh! :D
Interesting and not bad. It was different for sure. I <3 the ants too! :)

great ideas
Yea, that was something new.
great idea, loved it!
As usual, a terrific "think outside the box" prod by ASD. Great stuff.
Liked it.
Meh.
Nice art, and beautiful music.
Maybe not my favorite ASD prod, but as usual it's beautifully made :) Really nice ideas here, but I'd have loved to see a little more escher in there.
Here is my thumb up for a really interesting demo and a really interesting idea.
And you can still develop this idea even further in other demos, so let's see what happens...
Perhaps it was a bit long, but this is just a subjective perception. Anyway, I loved the meshes that get alive when drawn and start to become part of the prod itself :)

Saw this today :)
Beautiful stuff and lovely rendering :)
meLikez!
Clever effect, but after minute it tends to be a bit boring.
Still desevers at least weak thumb.

Love it. Nice fresh idea.
Yes
haaaaaaaaa (sigh) ....♡
Lovely as always :'-)
good idea and technics
Absolutely brilliant.
Brilliant ! Music is fantastic !
different style, awesome prod
The idea was excellent. The result is pure genius.
very solid work, love the build up and growing complexity of the world
Just because it's different
That was a good experience.
wow. <3
Well, it's original for sure, but rather boring after the first minute, not too much new happening. The hand doesn't have enough variety, and holds the pen the wrong way... A child's hand with many ad-hoc movements would work much better imho.
You guys manage too amaze me too fucking often...
Good idea. Great demo.
Amazing idea!!! Great!!
lovely
I love hairy arms!
What can I say .. it is a rare occasion when there's an ASD demo that I like, especially when it comes to the music. This is one of those times.
Nothing to complain about really, perhaps the idea could've been taken further, but they always can be.

concept
Very cool concept and nice "analog feeling". Music is OK.
I was a bit sad the drawings fade away. I would have been happier to watch for them some seconds before their "disconstruction".

очень HD )
artistic
Interesting concept. It was worth a try. But it's really boring.
lartsy-fartsy, but liked it.
Most original design in years. Kinda sad the idea wasn't elaborated further, but... eh.
