Cool stuff

love the minimalist style, reminded me a lot of hplus, good music too!
Oh boy, oh boy - finally a new XPLSV!
Not even sure what I'm more excited about, that framejs got a couple of lines more code or that one finally can meet XPLSV purple again.
However for the prod itself, the things that sticked out to me the most where the tune and the sync, both rock - and give me a tense feeling that something big will happen - which unfortunately never does. Though with the fine selected colours it's quite enjoyable - and having read that this was done in a hurry it's quite amazing.
YAY! <3

Cool minimal demo.
"disqualified"?

Deadline time shenanigans pushed this one out. Unfair, indeed.
With only 2 demos on the compo?
A bit too boring and formulaic for me.
\o/
Theres a great connection here between the music track and the visuals, both in style and pace & flow.
After the first scene change i thought the demo was over, but then it continued, got a bit darker and had a few nice scenes.
Not spectacular but very enjoyable demo :)

I like this. Please fix the clipping cam paths/objects, course the ruin a lot.
video?
What Keito said, and I love the music in traditional elbee style!
A bit too simple surfaces for my taste and a tad to the long/boring side in places, however a relatively solid demo, with a solid track.
A weak thumb :)

Nice music, simple visuals but effective.
Clean and sweet - I like the music a lot.
minimalist synesthetics without the psy. nice soundtrack indeed ;)
No go on chromium 30, a light blue screen with some polygons.
download link pls.
yay, xplsv are back! it's a bit long and uneventful, but the music is great and should not be cut. :D
superb soundtrack! the visuals fit well too and ran fine in chrome. top notch javascript demo!
Firefox ran it well. Nice visuals, but some of the colors were quite bad, particularly the screenshot part. Decent electro track too.
Yes top js demo, music is kiskass, good minimalistic style
fine webdemo worked great on chrome 28 on my hp laptop
the abstract gfx shown are not too impressive but work quite well with the kickass soundtrack!

Great concept and execution. Could have been tolerable to watch if the sync had been accurate.
I followed a little bit of the creation of this demo, which makes it a bit special to me. Best part the city and the constant transformation of the objects in the center.
This was great. I really loved the first part most - the sync on the central object just rules, it's just a simple randomly changing object yet the tight sync makes it so much more.
Tune sounds seriously good too, I'm now really looking forward to listening again on non-laptop speakers :D

Good minimalist demo! The city part was a nice surprise.
@Blueberry: Difficult task. The synchro was done at the noisy partyplace.
@xernobyl: Disqualified, unfortunately. The should extend the deadline next year!

Simple, but I liked it.
nice design/idea fits in the music.
Althought, personally, that black background, in some parts, makes me feel a bit dissapointed.
Perphaps a subtle noise shader would do the
work.
Great demo anyway. Thank you!

is it 2002 again? :)
could use a visual upgrade.
(would be cool to do actually, as a remix)

Just rewatched, tune does indeed rule hard :D
I'm curious about browser differences here though. I watched on safari last night. Today, it just plain won't run - I get a static picture, no demo. Have restarted the browser, no difference, no idea why since other 3js/webgl stuff works. Well, webgl is still flaky in safari, guess that's why it's not enabled by default :) Or has the code changed in the last 12 hours on the online version? If so, it broke safari / OSX support.
It ran fine in chrome (28, OSX), but the sync in the first part didn't make the same impact. I'm guessing there's some latency issue then, which could either be chrome, or some audio delay since I stuck headphones in. It ran super smoothly in both browsers so I can't see it being framerate related.
Anyway, lesson there: if you're synching to those very fast parts latency gets very important. And I suspect even if it was just syncing to the bass drum, latency would cause some loss of impact.

"Use whatever tool gets the job done best". Lack of .ogg support is so rarely an issue it's not worth switching browser for. Makes more sense to just keep a few installed for those rare occasions when something doesn't work :)
It's your demo :) Pity though, I wanted to watch it in safari again to see if there's really a latency issue somewhere or I'm imagining it.
Nice. Like the music.
Nice! I miss some more accurate synching as well, but knowing how quickly it was done, I can't really complain.
*syncing!
Zomb: it's likely browser dependent from my experience. Might be worth trying different browsers.
Nice looking but boring demo with great music.
good visuals (except for the text) & good sound.
The direction/sync is very enjoyable.

Rather weak
kinda neat.
The tune and visuals works great together. It could use some tighter sync but Hey, nice work for a fast prod.
Oh... the thing I really dislike is the red text saying OBSIDIAN. Really? red? Should have sticked to white or switched to ... obsidian black and show the title in negative with the 3D shapes behind.
About the disqualification, I'm sure the deadline was the same for everyone, and it looks like three demos were delivered on time. Surely this could have been coordinated better to give a few extra hours to everyone but I wouldn't call this unfair. :\

Mrdoob: sync in General is fine. It's just that primitive switching object in the 1st scene. Unless it was just a happy coincidence, 1st time I watched the changes were perfectly synced to the synth. 2nd time it wasn't as good, and when it's this fast I think 1-2 frames of lag would explain it. I can see browsers buffering/presenting frames differently.
Maybe at some point it's worth testing latency in different browsers, so the audio can be offset for perfect sync?
And oh yeah, that red text, please fix it :D

i give it a tiny thumb nevertheless.

mrdoob: as a compo-organizer my feelings are as follows: "Is this prod getting an unfair advantage by a few extra hours? Aka: will it get INSANELY BETTER by it? Or will it simply be "finished"? If the latter: allow it."
Very nice. I enjoyed the whole minimalist impression, made me thought of Rez (the videogame) indeed... the track is great but well, I would have few doubts about it, considering the guys.
Was it disqualified for the deadline or is it an excuse to say that you didn't use materials from the scene?
Om unit is from planet-mu and Lorn is from brainfeeder and now on Ninja Tune.

I kinda like it but I really really wish it had vsync :/
Nice stuff. Sync works fine for me. I really dig the visuals, but the contrast to the top-notch music is a little too big.
starts pretty nice but it misses a proper ending.
nice concept, but lacks direction
mrdoob: new title text is way better, but it aliases badly (chrome 28, OSX) with that thin outline. (And now you've changed it, i'll mention that the old red text looked like a <h1> tag from a really old website :D)
Sync changes definitely help a bit. Is the time control new btw or did I just miss it before?

I found the narrative a bit weak, the transitions between the scenes jarring and the aliasing of the gfx annoying.. but this had doob-style all over it and it wins for that (it also wins for the music, the gfx style, that it runs in a browser without killing performance and the video-like controls)
mrdoob: Yep, it sucks that it was disqualified... I'll reply on euskal2013 thread
I couldn't get this one to work in both Mozilla's SeaMonkey v2.19 and Internet Explorer v8 in my old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine. However, I did get it to work in IceWeasel (aka Firefox in Debian) v22. It was decent.

A bit too dark but very cool.
i love it! great tune and slick visuals well done!
nice.
nice ilektro by om unit. so so visuals.
good comeback
why not.
Less is more.
Missed that somehow. Great minimalistic style and hypnotic music. A shame it was disqualified.
great!
I watched this before I even got an account here :)
aww yeeaah
disqualified on euskal encounter but not for me!
I like it
