32b that isn't just a noise pattern, and a cool unique one too anyway.

Awesome.
The sequence xchg cx,dx | neg cx | add cx,619
can be 1 byte shorter: push cx | mov cx,619 | sub cx,dx | pop dx
rulez added on the 2014-06-26 17:40:47 by rrrola rrrola
@rrrola: you never cease to amaze me =)
add + neg ~ sub
push + pop ~ xchg
of course ^^
thank you

yep
Thanks to Rrrolas optimization (one byte)
i could made the WHOLE dragon fade, not just
the half. While at it, i improved on the colors
and increased the coverage to 100%.

... still 32 bytes =)

... and if you insist on "exit on keypress", have this alternative
(also full fading, but not centered and slightly different)

Just a heads up, it's possible to zoom-animate (not just fade) these types of IFS fractals in 64 bytes, while the smallest still image IFS fractal is now 16 bytes. You can find both in the leafpack.

There is a one-byte VESA mode which makes 800x600 resolution
possible while still fitting into 32 bytes and still being ESCapable =)
this mode (0x6A) unfortunately does not work on DOSBOX :/
but since it's a standard VESA mode, it will work on every
VESA compatible graphics card, see video here, the algorithm
described here was accordingly altered to fill the most of the screen

with the "secret mode finder" and further adaption of the algorithm, it's now possible to show the dragon in 1360x768 on a GT105M
