Well, I wanted to give the prod a thumb up, but I had to read on Atariage, the music is using triple VBI Speed and just sounds like this?
If you want to know how POKEY works...
This uses double speed 3 channels:

Final version uploaded to site now. Uses 150 Hz music replay that eats up 30% of the CPU to not sound like POKEY. Plus a software driven soft scroll to achieve hires scroller over animated overscan hires background that eats up the remaining CPU cycles. And yes, it thought it would be simple...believe me it's not with 1.79MHz :-)
@emkay: I personally don't care about how many channels a sound uses but how it sounds. All your tunes sound like Atari/POKEY but this one doesn't and that's what counts for me. Besides that it's the first POKEY tune the guy ever created, so I wish you'd try to motivate people who join the Atari gang instead of p..... them off from the start.

I don't actually have a problem with your comments as I know you/them for many years. I even know that you want to show that POKEY can do better, which is fine. My point is that "the music is using triple VBI Speed and just sounds like this?" is simply negative and not offering assistance. Especially considering the idea for the release was born soley because the guy had created his first tune and we then thought about a way of releasing it.
As i have known the composer for years, i can assure you that comments are taken positive way :) Tune was composed without listening much pokey tunes, and no intention for actually releasing it anywhere. Big thumb for Premium!
Nice intro and I don't care about technical aspects of the tune, it just sounds good to me, I really like it. Tripple VBI speed or not, it's a great tune in my book!
After JAC! explained me the intricacies of the platform and this demo at the party, I have a lot of respect for this - there's definitely more to it than meets the eye at first! And I love the style and tune. Great!
