Pure style!!!
It can't get past the title scene on my machine it seems (first out of memory errors (8gig), then on the 2nd try the newest nvidia driver crashed), but it looked and felt absolutely awesome on the stream <3
Wowzee! Not sure about... whatever that was in the end and the spikeball, but great job overall.
Lovely.
I’m jealous so hard. :D
I like the model in the last scene. As well as overal mood (visuals, sound).
I'll need to watch this again. On the stream the title looked superb, and the rest had great style too, but it didn't manage to catch me.
Jaw dropping <3
HOLY SHIT.
This is just so well done. The colors, the direction, the sound, the one-trick-pony, the everything.
I wanna spank it!

yet another slowly moving demo of buildings, grey triangles and nothing... yawn
i need a new video card. and a cap of this.
Well done guys.
The title scene ran at about 1 fps but the rest of the demo was fine.
Very very nice demo, great atmosphere!

Very polished. Looked and felt good.
Still made my day.
Great direction, superb soundtrack and mood. Thumb up!

wow

Great pacing, I like how it takes its time with the camera movements. People (incl. myself) really should take a note of that.

This is how you do an atmospheric demo. Really confident direction and solid design.
DEBRIS !
Ok now that I switched the windows paging file on again (never needed it before :), it's apparent that something is leaking very badly during the first few scenes (image), but once that clears up it's smooth.
So well done! Direction, Composition and Post are all fantastic.
Great stuff. Not as epic on 2nd viewing as it was during the compo, but still very worthy a winner.
This is brilliant but I think I need to be in the correctly adjusted mindset to properly enjoy it - I think there's an inherent expectation when one sits down to watch a demo (especially one that was hyped at the party), to try and look for "The Big Thing", which is unfortunately ingrained into sceners as "object rotating in the middle", and one usually misses the whole build/flow, which is what this prod is based on. I certainly did and I think now that I've seen it once I think I'll be able to enjoy it more the next time.
Beautiful. Absolutely great direction, especially the progression.
super
Awesome.
Great demo, atmospheric and unrelenting. Really enjoyed seeing the final result of the paintover thread, and the 90% of the demo i had no idea was coming.
Btw, was pretty surprised it ran first time on my gtx560, the title scene was slow and jumpy but the rest of the demo was smooth as silk. :D

crashed here GT630 or GTX630
Amazing stuff. Like Square, but even better.
Graphics are, once again, beautiful!
The music was absolutely fitting.
Great prod, keep them coming!
Also, have a youtube capture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXGkfqmUgcw

at first i thought its a recycle-demo of square but the soundtrack and direction took a whole different turn.
enjoyed it le very much at the party, thanks :)

Truly superb.
very nice!
(but i cannot avoid noting that it was very slow even on youtube :)

DEMO. OF. THE. YEAR.
Amazing!
awesome
Excellent music! together with the great gfx, it reminds me of Bladerunner.
This demo certainly requires to be in a certain mood.
I love the style and the atmosphere!

congrats guys, looked awesome on the bigscreen. Especially the soundtrack blewed me away
Hm.. very entertaining up until the thingies became buildings again. After that, I zoned out due to boredom. So piggie
Just fantastic !
You guys are incredible !
You guys are incredible !
WOW
This was truly enjoyable. Loved it from beginning to end, and that's unusual for me. Great soundtrack too - yay for the 303!
quite a few awesome scenes. great work guys!
that's great stuff
Now I guess I'll have to find a meaning for this abstract beauty... :)
one trick pony. it's pretty slow. and i've seen alotta disintegration fx before. same as the line particles. but... the soundwaves got me on the second watch. here's the thumb for it.
ehh what? turn it around. did it glitch? o_O
this was really nice. and great. and definitely well designed.
I don't follow the wave of excitement here. Looks and sounds too much like an inferior, more somber version of what we have seen from these guys before.
one trick pony :)
I absolutely love what you're doing with the light/shadow/lightrays/shadowrays. Most beautiful one trick pony for me so far
I'm quite speechless. This is one of the most awesome thing I've seen, heard and experienced in a very long time.
I love it! Awesome!
Absolutely great flow and direction. Great tune too.
Couple of constructive criticisms: the acid sounds felt out of place somehow, and why must *everything* break apart into triangles? It would have been so much better without endless perfect triangles :)
Regardless, it's another really great demo. Still is my favourite group these days :)

A bit too slow for me. Great soundtrack, though.
fucking awesome cinematography, great composition, great use of light / volumetrics / depth, and great soundtrack. im jealous!
i only have one minor negative comment: i wish it wasnt just broken into the triangles the mesh was built from because some of them look a bit ugly - too long and thin - and it feels a bit "easy". i wish either a) the triangles were subdivided where necessary to make them more equilateral or b) better, that it wasn't just triangles at all but various polygon shapes.

What Smash said.
Totally awesome!
11/10 wowfactor!
Music atmosphere matching perfectly here!
A balanced combination between demoscene-cliché-content and general digital-art performance.
+ effects
+ composition
+ direction
+ the size!
I love it! Please more!

I'd also like to add that by the time you get to the title reveal, you already know it's going to be awesome, because that alone oozes style. Again: well done guys, this one rocked.

Great demo, fantastic style.
Comments from my 3-years old watching this:
Look, there's fire! I think it's broken? Maybe the house was old? I'm going to put my hands on my ears because the fire is noisy. Look, do you see the holes? That was a short demoparty.

Still are fast becoming my favorite demo crew.
Music - nice, visual - boring crap
The startup-dialog seems to always pick the resolutions from my left-most monitor, but run on the monitor where the dialog itself was created... strange.
The first parts reminds me of Ferner, while the second part reminds me of Finally Inside, which I both prefer although this one is definitely more mature both technique wise and art wise. Maybe because I find it hard to relate to it, and its attempts at grabbing me don't hold a strong enough grasp.
Anyway, this is hands down an impressive piece of design that leaves little to say. Smash already outlined its weakness, I would maybe add that at moments triangles are too axis aligned (while this is a tiny detail, when I start noticing it, it drains my attention from the actual happening).

also: HUND!
I dont want to be so harsh but I prefer some of the previous demos from Still to this one... it looks great but really is boring to me.
Seriously awesome!
Great direction and style!
good from the very first scenes, and getting better with each beat.
Just.Fucking.Amazing.
More. Please.
More. Please.
Eh, I dunno..
Nah, visually not good and artsy fartsy style.
Superb design and flow, mix well with music (missing some syncs in some parts but that's fine), congrats!
just amazing! and i don't agree with smash. if it had other shapes, it would lose its edged. the sharp angles look good i think.
Got a bit too messy looking towards the end, otherwise solid work.
love it
what Zavie said.
Also, I love the soundtrack.

Yes! Beautiful!
fantastic quality, as usual
agree with what smash said but, to be honest, i didn't even notice myself

nice effects but music was cheesy.
This is just so inspiring, that I have been coding for two days now. First time in 2-3 years I have had this amount of motivation and energy. Who knows, maybe an intro comes out of this :)
It's THAT fucking good!
And yes, tri-polys are a really bad choice - design wise that is - but somehow you almost manage to get away with it :)

Very cinematic! Would have loved to have seen this on the big screen, I feel like I'm not getting the full experience on a monitor and headphones. It has a really menacing feel in places, that I found quite unnerving. Some of the animated sequences (the tower tops circling up into the air) were quite breathtaking. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and emotive journey.
The triangles bug me quite a bit, but I read about them here first, so maybe it's a subliminal thing :)

Was ok, with oone ordinary demosceneish cheesy effect, nothing more to see tho.. Need some heavy polishing with better camera moves...
I dig only great music score and dark colors....

pure awesomeness, blew me away instantly. music fits the atmosphere really well.
Love it, excellent soundtrack, ronny!
one trick pony indeed, but it's a trick that works.
Very nice atmosphere, loved this.
style!
will rewatch it a few times
Well done guys!
Very well done, thanks for that :) I have the same minor complaint as Smash, other than that it's pretty flawless, with plenty of small details to offset the big huge effects.
Too messy but i second what Shifter said.
I'm puzzled. It's typical fro Still - sometimes they deliver a bombshell but this time it's just Calcifier. This would be a jawdropping show for any other group, but it's Still and we were pleased with better shows. Thumb up for the effort, thumb down for the music and overall tempo. Any of the effects is visually impressive, but stiched together are so damn booooring. I'll leave a piggy here. With an option to thumb it up after some time.
massive massive massive. I had to rewatch it a few times, maybe because it's slow paced and i needed some time until I could fully adapt to it's mood. A slight touch of debris comes to mind, but so much darker. music is <3
Nice atmosphere, spot on direction.
Really got us streamers going when this came up. :D Great/intelligent use of shadows and darkness in general.
Very nice!
Gets better and better on each rewatch. I like how there's just so much stuff going on, and music wise I'm a total sucker for Ronny's slow paced pieces anyway :)
I almost exited the demo two minutes into the boredom. But I was hoping something would happen soon. Nothing did. This is a lesson in how to blitz technically competent effects into a slow, uninteresting porridge.
I'll rewatch it later and see if it becomes something more than a sleeping pill.

Decent. I had to watch that 2+ GB MP4 video file.
i liked the first few seconds cos it had good style/flow, but it all relies on 1.5 effects and got boring quickly so i don't like it. soundtrack is fucking neat tho.
(overwhelmed)
I really like the first half. In the second half everything's a bit washed-out and blurry. Music's good though, so weak thumb-up.

How much storage do you need? I have 16gb in the system and 2gb on the GPU. Perhaps this is what's happening when the title scene locks up for 4-5 seconds before the next scene?
Cool demo though, not sure I'm feeling it as much as some people here but then perhaps this technical problem is putting me off.

nice! (+was smash said)
I had to wait a while and let it sink in, like the others... this thing does something to me. It might be the same trick as the one on yesterday's pony show superficially - but it really is quite different.
Also exactly what red said <3

great direction and design and style.
and cool soundtrack!
This is decent demo.
and cool soundtrack!
This is decent demo.
Great light/shadows and depth in places together with couple epic moments and fitting music.
Really solid production! Nothing revolutionary code-wise but the design and direction is really good and the visuals go hand in glove with the soundtrack. I really like the style :). Great work!
yeahh!
You know what: If it doesn't run even remotely smoothly on a GTX680, it's not realtime today... F this.
xeche: it runs silky smooth on my GTX690, in an insane resolution as well. Your PC sounds b0rked -- and so does your reasoning for thumbing it down.
@gloom I took a screwdriver to the cpu and put duct tape all over my fans, cause i don't have turbo button on this chassis.
As as was too drunk to really enjoy this at the compo, I took a fine cold beer with me yesterday, dimmed all the lights, put on my headphones and turned off the secondary monitor. And wow, I sat there astonished, watching this spectacle of a demo - it's nuts, frightening and feels like a blockbuster, in a good way.
That green is amazing, the blinding light still has some warmth in it, and wow wow wow - even after the fifth run I found more little details. Like the ~oily air with the haze.
This will still be awesome in ten years <3

wtf? this crawls like a dried snail after consuming more than 6gb of mem and swapping kicks in
thumb for the sound, and the visuals were at least decent on the evoke bigscreen, too

Must have been a jawdropper on the bigscreen, it's just ok at home. But doesn't that happen to all demos? :)
pixtur: 660Ti + 8GB mem win7-64, would run fullHD quite slow, like it would be swapping stuff in/out from memory. on 720p ran just fine.
Now this was stillish. Thanks!
The only thing I didn't like is when things got figurative at the end and we actually saw the little demon or whatever.
Brilliant!!
Great work! And it even runs smooth on my Radeon 7870 @ 1920*1200.
Good work on the code and design. Music is ok too, but the result is quite boring. Thumb up anyway, it's more than deserved.
Great!
i had a distinct ferner deja-vu at the beginning of the demo which is good.
very good design/music/sync etc.
had a hard time forcing me not to look on the screens while it was beeing finished but it was worth it for the awesome bigscreen moment on sunday :)

pixtur: GTX650Ti and GTX580 both do the same memory leaking/crappy fps during the first scenes for me (with 320.49 nvidia driver).
(oh and 8GB ram and win7 x64 here as well)
another hint: the leaking only happens when run in fullscreen mode, windowed is smooth.
Stylish and great... Thumb up :D
Really really cool, but somehow I feel like it was a little less focused than Square. If I didn't know I would have assumed you wrote them in reverse order. Still extremely impressive and a big thumbs up!
Breathtaking stuff! Smash is jealous for a reason. :D
It's a real shame it didn't connect with me emotionally on the level some other demos have... But this was as close as Still has done yet.

Very enjoyable. Style. Light effects. I nearly lost a heart here...
@pixtur: using w7x64 with gf660 as well. running in windowed mode works fine (roughly 1.5 gb mem consumption), and lower fullscreen resolutions are also less affected than the original or maximumones
Stylish, atmospheric, attention-attractive, pleasant!
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
When music and graphics and coding all just fit together like a glove!!
What they said.
Everything is so damn well executed in this demo, so it nearly reaches the perfection! :) The biggest highlight for me is the soundtrack, it's just awesome! I could listen to it endlessly :)
.
o.O
Beautiful, nice tech, concept driven, doesn't feel like 4kb at allm super impressive! Not the most compelling direction for my taste, but still a massive thumb up.
epic demo !!!
dat sync !
dat sync !
Finally saw this running smooth. Still awesome :)
Breathtaking, pure perfection.
Epic. Don't know what else to say, just awesome.
re-watching this now after the AlphaGo vs Lee Sedol match
Don't like it at all, but i can't thumb it down.
MANA = minimal, abstract, nice, atmospheric
Polys and shaders :)
The early part reminds me of rove, with a touch of debris and coronoid

😮😮😮 ❤️❤️❤️wow
Nice saw this on the Dihalt 2021 stream tonight feelt a bit like a calm Debris in space
awesome
How was this not on my HD, have I actually not seen this one yet?
