»Follow the red circle.« – Love your absctract stuff.
I don't understand why this requires 67MB. Definitely not minimalist in filesize
Fucking fantastic. Best since Anoxia Redux imo, never quit.
OH MY FUCK I LOVE THIS
What is the image sequence for? Edge detection and camera movement?
Absolutely brilliant.
very nice. loved the music!!!
Great it was allowed to participate even if it didn't run on the compo machine.

THIS DEMO ONLY WORKS ON ATI CARDS FOR NOW
It crashes instantly on my HD 6570 though. Saw the Youtube, will have to let it sink in - piggie for now.
ATI 7950 here, doesn't crash saw the intro then it remains black - intro lacked the lines it has in the vid though.
Bummer :\
Win 7 - 64 / Driver version 8.980.0.0

Eh.
Updated the driver to 12.104.0.0 and it looks like in the vid, so sorry for the oink.
For the prod itself, it's weird that I have the feeling that it needs my Sundaymood to get into the demo, which is (at least for me) a first one for ASD. So, hmm - I'm not sure if I read too much into it, but it feels like that the story is about things that were once in order, went off the charts, which certainly has some possibilities - but also the motif of fear is prominent - in the end there's the wish for all to be back in order again.
At least that's what I read into it, after a couple of .be beers at 30°C in the flat, and thinking that you guys are from .gr
It got me thinking, and even if I'm totally of track - I love the palette and the music, but the dropshadow tops it off (it looks so damn nice!) <3

fine structure
Cool!
The music and visuals was misfitting imo - chaotic and stuttering/clipping movements to very calm ambient and smooth soundtrack? ...hmmm I guess I would have chosen to cut the soundtrack so it was following the "cuts" in the visuals.
But cool anyways :)

way too good for piggie even if the choice of colors won't fit to the mood of the awesome music imho.
Something happens on the screen...but is filesize so big?
Something happens on the screen...but why is filesize so big?
interesting, experimental stuff
Quite okay.
Waiting for another ASD 'mega demo' at a future Assembly ;-)
a few dots zooming sometime for 3min here. Is it a procedural/random demo ?
ah! sorry, didn't read the first comment. nvidia here.
I don't think the potential of this is fully exploited here.
Hmmm...
Especially some missing timing (as Maytz pointed out) holds the full eperience back for me.
Somehow I just feel that the effect could have been beed used even better than in the current state. Still nice looking and sounding though :)

I need to be honest about this one. I really think it's boring. There's no real progression, no changes in the music that is picked up and used in the visuals. There seem to happen close to nothing from the start and throughout the 3 minute "journey". It's a nice ambient track and there's definitely some cleverness going on visually, but I just don't get it. Sorry.
Just wonderful. Perfect soundtrack too.
Thankfully I still have an ATI in this laptop.
The particle effects are interesting.
Piggie, cause I prefer the traditional ASD demos.

I really dug this - great motion in the piece!
I'll leave it with a piggy.
The experiment is nice, using an algorithm and some emergent behavior as a demo is a good idea, but it feels at bit served as is. The image is a bit raw, there is little or no connection between the image and the sound, and story wise, there is next to nothing, except maybe for the very first and very last seconds. It feels like there is nothing to understand, just stuff happening.

Okay-ish.
Well done, waiting for a final version that works on Geforce cards
exactly what zavie said
What about the enormous size of the file? It looks to me like 4k would be more than enough.
I really like the way lines and circles move like chaos!
Not sure what to say for now but I think I like it.
Follow the red one.
sadly on nvidia gpu so i had to watch the capture but yes, this could hang in a random art gallery.
soundwork is ace too.
soundwork is ace too.
a demo as it supposed to be in 2013.

steady state - mutation - attack - assimilation
Me gusta!
Unfortunately didn't work on my GPU and the video artefacts take away from some of the more interesting scenes, but I really liked the visuals. Very unique.
for the message.
It's "art", but it's cool. Nice to see ps's music with some good visuals, and someone other than smash doing particle simulation. :) Eagerly awaiting nvidia compatible version (but then, I'm still waiting for Spin and Happiness, too)
Very interesting simulation/visual representation, is what I thought at first. Then it dragged on and as Puryx pointed out to never go anywhere or, if you will, exploit it's potential. Also congratulations on demo number X with compatibility issues up the wazoo Navis. A good deal of earlier releases were of such (visual) quality that I'd think well, okay, be that as it may, it's still one hell of an effort. This looks too cheap to not run on any SM3 wielding setup flawlessly.
do like.
I like it very much. You see, usually the red circle is the "main actor", and the other circles either tend to follow the red circle and aggregate around it or tend to move away from the red circle (like in magnetism). Thus the demo serves as an entertaining demonstration of some fundamental concepts of physics. The musical score is also very good and suits the atmosphere. All in all, a clear thumb up!
I already felt my comment was harsher than it should have been but the way you take it makes me feel even worse ;) I know a thing or two about compatibility and whereas you're right about a good amount of disparity, not often varying through driver releases as well, it's generally fixable :)
The question remains if it's worth all that for what's supposed to be primarily a fun pastime. Well the only thing I got there is that you've got a big audience. For a good reason.
Go on :)
(also a small tech. article on this would be fun, what's seen suggests it's either a clever particle system or other some sort of GOL/neural sorcery)

Managed to watch about half. Then my laptop battery dies :(
What I saw was fascinating though. With the red dot, it's like watching some kind of alien football played with completely alien rules.
And what plek said about an article. I can see small bits of how it works, but it seems to have a quite complex and very interesting set if rules.

Looks like a particle coding experiment that happened to turn into a demo. Nothing bad in that, tho.
BTW, is it me or do letters try to form with the dots and the connections from time to time, like greetings or whatever?
enjoyablle
good idea
minimal and stuff i like it better as sober and not ultra drunk
Looks like my mind sometimes. Love it.
Crashed after half a second. On ATI.
I'm an ASD fan... but this gets a piggy. What zavie said.
I don't get it... but that's just me
Nice experiment. The music fits very well in my opinion.
@Navis: I'd pick up your medal. I'll bring it to you next year at Revision. OK? :D

What Jcl said... thus said, it's not just you.
Is this a simulated neural network? Synapsenknacksen. I like it.
Looks and sounds nice, but... kind of boring, though.
Points are the new cubes!
Concept.
Different, Really nice!
so what factor
this actually is my prefered asd demo.
Oink.
Not my kinda thing really. Technically impressive, but leaves me feeling exactly the same as I did before I watched it. I guess I'm more into 'low art' than 'high art'.
thumb up for the life-like feeling
excellent
Awesome! =)
i'm an ASD fan aswell, but this one is a little bit boring, even if i suppose it's technically complex, my CDC remaings Iconoclast =)
great
I didn't understood and didn't try to understand what happened on the screen but the result has pleased me a lot \:D/
I would be a massive fucking hypocrite to thumb this down.
Thumbing down experiments would be fucking lame indeed.

i really enjoyed the movements, nice little thing!
Thumb down for ATI only and I suspect it will remain ATI only, like some of ASD's other releases.
I really like the idea behind it. Despite the abstraction, the "steady state - mutation - attack - assimilation" sequences is really readable. The cuts, however, are too disruptive for me, esp. because I can't connect them to the music.
Also, it would have been nice to play more with the ongoing simulation: The state and hierarchy of objects being represented by their color and connections. Something like "I'm bigger, and angry red, and I'll trap the smaller points with this network of lines before eating and digesting them. But eventually I will explode into new little particles with different properties." Something between the "Cycle of Live" and "Osmosis".

Arte
pointillism <3
what bartoshe said.
kool demo art shock to brain :)

one effect demo, but what an outstanding effect !!!
Twitchy movement reminds me protozoas and music perfectly fits to visual concept.
Glad to saw demo from ASD in minimal artifakt way

it's not abstract enough!
interesting for a while, but far from breathtaking
new avenues
Pretty
you guys should give this to some modern art museum, it's beautiful <3
Nice, but a bit boring. Still a thumb up though. :)
I'm with rez.
too boring for me so it sucks , but don't take it too personal :-) i'll like/love for sure the next one :p
Demoscene blood cells.
It crashes for me in my very old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 box with its ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB of VRAM). I got its crash dump though: http://pastie.org/8203335 ...
I watched the non-cammed M4V file. It was OK. I don't like their recent new demos. What happened to the old styles? Did the group change recently? :(

first time i dislike a ASD prod, boring.
wow! greetings from the tar pit!
I like how unassuming this is. Black background, no greetings, no credits or anything textual at all, just a minimal, two-dimensional, rather clever looking screen saver. ;)

The rendering is done using gl_points and gl_line strips.
If that is indeed the case, shouldn't it work on NVIDIA?
Wow!
hmm, okay, so i'll thumb this up. i like the mood, i like the visuals. audio and visuals could have been much more tightly interwoven though. the idea is there, but it lacks in execution.
I'm thoroughly impressed... Cheesy music nowhere to be heard, cheesy imagery nowhere to be found. Good soundtrack and inspired visuals.
Crashes instantly on HD4870. It's a bit strange with the absence of final non-partyversions on the PC platform, but you would think the bare minimum would be at least requirements in the nfo?

This demo requires OpenGL with 3.0 pixel and vertex shaders
Really awesome. It's a one-effect demo, but a very very nice one and never boring. The soundtrack suits to the visuals and is very pleasant. It's one of my top10 demos
navis: have you tried using a video capture of the demo as the source image sequence? Could be interesting to see what happens :) And if it's done repeatedly, does it reach a point of stability, or does it bounce off into chaos?
Amazing, as always.
Nice, but... 68 Mb for 64kb-like look?..
Please make more of these!
Sure, the zip file weighs a tonne, but what a demo! Amazing, organic visuals and a phenomenal soundscape.
LUV.
feels good.
It's mesmerizing, it's cool. The trick "mutation - attack - assimilation" is pretty well made.
The file size is amazing too :p

different.
ARS
One of best things I've seen in ages and it's a current area of my research! Amazing!
this is brilliant
I do not agree with the combination of sound and visuals in this one, but nevertheless, it is stunning. I usually prefer those "concept works" over multipart demos. A great step in the right direction and one of my favorite ASD demos so far. Thanks for the experience!

What punqtured said
I'm sorry, but It's just too long.
great atmosphere and visuals
i like how Navis can do both, blockbusters and experimental demos... Great ambient by Psenough..
loved it, awesome
great demo but also broken no Polaris and newer AMD cards
not really for me
submit changes
if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.

THIS DEMO ONLY WORKS ON ATI CARDS FOR NOW so don't get mad :)
