Gorgeous show, folks. Remember to hustle a deal with the Lübeck city counsil.
Was a great treat to feed us some teasers last year at your place over some magnificent Scotch.

I liked this, not the regular style of Wild, but a good effort went into it, and it felt great on the bigscreen. Also made me want to visit Lübeck :p

I saw it on the stream and the shots were great but the music was too low. In this moment I thought: damn this could be the winner... if just the music... ;D Also in the chat some ppl argued that the music is not fitting. But now I loaded it and watched it in all its beauty and the volume up up up and its fantastic. Music fits great and if you have some footage left please make a extended version. And you definitely should upload it to vimeo too with good keywords - there are a lot of dudes there who are intrested in this kind of stuff.

There were some breathtaking shots. And I'm so happy that you didn't fell into the dubstep-trap. That would have have ruined it. My guess is the thought did cross your minds, no? Also thanks for the greets!, we sent some back :)

Different, which is mostly an interesting direction in the demoscene.

Obviously a thumb for the effort. But strangely I didn't really like it, I was expecting some idea or theme that never appeared. I guess the there's the theme of Lübeck and the camera movement, but it doesn't really change anything. It's timelapse with a song.

It has some night shots at the end which were nice, so :) Next time maybe something being built, or a common theme between completely different settings, or emulating an artificial world, or something based on a song, or...?

really nice shots, and respects for the electronics hacking

but, there must be hundreds of similar timelapse videos out there. It would be better with some creative twist

Lovely, very nice shots :) Some could be a little longer, though.

And I like the introduction part and the transition to the animated timelapse shots as well.

I like the choice of music, how it's fitted with the visual side, and the overall sequencing of the shots.

Really cool - some great timelapse here.

Would have been nice to see some more interesting techniques though - try shooting as video instead of stills, then use software to time compress it (blend frames to get motion blur, take max pixel values to get really cool traffic shots, do more creative things to capture some particular motion in a cool way :)

psonice: when doing timelapse, you definitely won't get motion blur. on the contrary... but is there something like motion sharpness? :)

Cool and inspirational project!
rulez added on the 2013-04-19 10:56:02 by Rob Rob
Xtrim: yes you do, I've done a fair bit of work on this myself :)

Just think, one way to do motion blur is to render multiple subframes and blend them yes? It's the same here, instead of 1 photo per second, you record 30fps video and blend 30 frames into 1 to create your timelapse.

If you blend using max instead of averaging, you get awesome light trails :)

Related: go really crazy with the frame blending, merge a ton of frames into a single image and create insanely long exposures. I managed a 3 month exposure from a webcam this way :D

the question is: how did you keep the gear from being stolen? surely you didnt just sit there for 48h.

a great project with a really good final result :)
rulez added on the 2013-04-21 22:42:15 by rez rez
It starts really great until the music kills it, and then it just ends.

Doesn´t need motion blur, I´d say.

Wow. For getting up at these unholy times in winter.
Wow. For picking these awesome locations.
Wow. For not making the video flicker when the light changes.
Wow. For not wanting to think of how often scenes had to be reshot.
Wow. For the skill.
Wow. For the tune.
