How this demo can get a 31% popularity, w/o any comment ?
I love the musique, but this product is too conceptual for me. Anyway, respect to you farb-rausch !

well, THAT'S a good example of bringing an idea to a demo. this one's pretty strong and has much to say or to EVOKE a thinking 'bout it. 2nd place proofs that f-r needn't to exhaust all the effect you they were able to make to manage a good position.

the idea to overflow viewer's memory and overfeed his eyes (as well as products of 'konsum' do it permanently) is genial. Well done, farb-raush, mice job!

A very impressive idea. Very artistic. Finally a group managed to combine perfectly art with demomaking.

to put it short: my favourite demo from evoke. demos don't need any effects if they have some nice pictures to show.

nir!

when i came to evoke, i somehow still had the illusion that demos should have to do something with realtime processing. i was quite disappointed to see two releases that actualy mainly consisted of pre-rendered videos (this one and napstyler). i was even more disappointed that our first demo (ok, it's crap, but still :) got placed after this cheap gameboy demo .... well, those were the reason why at first i didn't like fr05 very much. by now i think it's quite ok, as more and more demos make use of videos. the syncing is really well-done and fits perfectly together with the music. and the message is nice, too :) (don't know why i'm writing that shit here, better stop now.)

fr05, best demo of 2000 after mfx-slux.

imho.

A cool demo with nice soundtrack. Maybe no effects but who cares.. it's design that counts =)

robotriot: this is realtime processing. it's got a fade effect and text overlay (i.e. a font). might not be the most impressive effects ever, but had this been a movie file, it had been a lot bigger.

and, ofcourse, the music is realtime processed. even though we're quite used to module music, and we don't even write the mixing routines ouselves, playing a module is definately realtime processing.

oh, and ofcourse the fantastic palette screwup effect. i love that one.

uff.. very hard work with the digital camera... nice avi player ... i think windows is also a good demo, isn't it?

Nonetheless, I like it. why not?

"realtime processing"
well imho the .avi file is included with the demo, and since playing an avi and a audio stream isn't really all that hard these days i wouldn't like to call this easy stuff realtime processing.

anyhow, i liked this :)

Lovely and stylish. Reminds me of some 80's music videos.

by far the best fb's ever done.

We use the AVI only to have a convenient way to compress many still images in only little space and decompress them. It isn't "played" at all; just consider it an archive full of JPGs - that would be the better comparison.

and btw JPGs - OleLoadPicture rocks (even if IE3.0 (or above) is req'd to load JPGs with it :)

This took me by surprise. Very good, but I'm not sure if I'd call it a 'demo.' Oh well, noone cares what I think...

BB Image

this is what i got when watching this under windows xp.
hehe...

Well, this is the demo that introduced their consulting / consuming-concept
(check inverse-entertainment.de and have a wild guess what might have inspired them... ;)) and it's actually the ONLY fr-demo/intro I kept on my HD after watching it.

It creates a great atmosphere with the most simple things you can think of: Basically it's nothing else but a slideshow, combined with some descent lyrics and a extremly well fitting tune.

Not more, not less. It's a kind of anti-thesis to their recent productions. :)

Nice demo with good design. It's just so sad that those texts suck ass. And i just love that you can remix it so easily (just edit that txtfile)

i know that selfvoting sucks, but this was the first fr production which really pleased me (and the others too, i suppose). after not having seen it for about 1 year, i still get a gooseskin. one of the very few "feel-o-rama" demos of the scene. cheers.

You guys should read Culture Jam....can't remember who it's by...Canadian author...
It's along the same lines as this demo.
Anyway...Definately my favorite demo.. Just wish it worked in XP.

Different. No ranking, since it's uncomparable to (other) demos.

Very interesting!
Surely, on the technical side it cannot be compared with newer farb-rausch productions, but in terms of content/message it cannot be compared either...
Even though it is probably better that many demos have no written message, there should be more demos like this, Heaven seven or "A place called Universe".

Quite unique fr demo, also for it's soundtrack... I wasn't able to see it on win fiXP, it says:

"(deutsch stuff)...need 320x240x32bpp".

Why not to use a windowed mode or pixel doubling?
I want it back, and i know i'm not the only: farbraush you can easily do that!

Thumb up :)

Still the best demo of all I've seen.
Right to the heart of the issue.
Already given my thumb up so.
Still think it's an important piece of art and code and thought.
Give it a moment
