That bumpmapped cube was sooo fucking cool.
It lacks the dark finesse of Robotnik though, but as far as prequels go, it's worth your time.

Some crazy stuff in here, nice combinations of video and 3d, and a just plain ol' TWISTED feel. Awesome music. If you're in the mood for some pure EVIL, watch this along with robotnik. RAGE ruled!

Nice prod, although the mod player is crappy and has problems on many sound card configurations.
Got some fragments showing off the follow-up inspiration to make the cult demo - Robotnik, but this one lacks a lot to impress, especially after years.
It could be Shad/Cocoon before Cocoon team even dreamt about such a style if better polished.
