I find it quite "meh'ish", doesn't transport a summer poolparty feeling. Wild guess: Could it be the missing sun (with flares) ?

The ominous dark blue tinted scenes of swimming pools without people anywhere look like they come out of a David Lynch movie and not a demoscene summer party invitation. Just replace the soundtrack with ambient noise and you have something rather creepy. :)
