the 2d cell effect was the only one to drop below 60, which disturbs me somehow. nice stuff, though.

2001 called, they want their effects back. also the direction is just not up to anything. and then there's the issue of colors.
Great drums! Not too sure about the choice of showing off all the effects at the start of the demo. Sync great as always, colorscheme needs a bit of artist-love here and there... :)

1) the music is fun and the synth is awesome
2) it builds up perfect - giving a good feeling

1) the effects are basic and lacks the ooompf feeling
2) colors and direction is off :-(

I intended to do something more than just a straightup clone of the effect, but ran out of time. Sorry 'bout the lack of attribution. Las' code for raymarching AO might swirl around in there. Burned my eyes a little bit, but that was excellent. Short and fun. Only thing I didn't like was the text style and colour.
Like a remake of a very old aardbei 64k. Which is sometimes good and often not. :)
Don't listen to all those people babbling about concept or direction. This is great, classical demo entertainment, and you know it! ;)
I second Blueberry. People simply aren't allowed to be all retro-wanky and at the same time dislike this -- this is retro for another era, and I dig it despite the colorblinding-palette. :) Also: your drums CAN beat my mom's!

I like this, especially the buildup, but as maytz said on sunday at the party, you probably could get some extra points having him look at the colors.

The demo couldn't started on my old Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine with an almost years old ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB; PCIe). Maybe my machine can't do OpenGL 3.3? :( It got to the first black screen with a green loader part (one block only) and then exited.
So, I had to watch a video capture. It's not bad. Fast paced! Oh and leave my queen ant out of this. :P

Of course I knew that the torus tunnel probably wasn't very original; there was a prod at the back of my mind where I knew I got idea from, but I couldn't find it exactly. Today I go trolling through old Efreet prods, and look what pops up near the end of DeepPan - TFS. I remember discussing this intro a lot with Blueberry, I never could figure out how he did all that crazy shit.

Nice effort, but the music is not my cup of tea, which is not your fault. Sadly there is no consistent design, the scenes all feel very disconnected (round vs. sharp edges, color-schemes).
