Revolution!
Until Face Hugger released this megademo, demo on CPC were nearly hard screens, usingn hardware tricks. This is the first... and the only one, cos' NO OTHER DEMOS has so much soft, especially flat 3D.
Much more to say? well, he did it all and alone, whereas other so-called megademo were written by severel guys.
A top, undoubtly. But people can do better code and optimization: see Madram's Ecole Buissonière, that alas! has got a few messy effet, but whose code is obvisously better than Face Hugger's one.
Hmmm... I shall have put "Rulez" to Ecole Buissionière too, tant pis!
A few more thought... This is mainly a soft demo, which can be re-released on other Z80 computers, who knows? Of course, way of putting sprites is different... Of course, maybe by re-optimization, people can do faster 3D or so, but that's all. I do prefer hardware demo, which can be done ONLY a CPC, with hardware tricks and so on :) Demomaking on CPC is, to my mind, not soft coding, but hackering("bidouiller") in hardware to find the best effect ever...
That's all,
Christophe.

The most innovative software demo on CPC! We want flat, we want flat!!! More flat :) And Gouraud if you want too =)
The inflexion point on CPC Demo Scene.
All parts are excellent but I love the lemmings part and the nice Turrican pic!

Yes, Great Turrican pic, better on a GT64/65 ;)
probably the best hardcore code on Amstrad CPC !
A very impressive demo possibly featuring some of the best 3D on cpc.
Rulez indeed
all dl links are dead
fixed
Finally watched it! Very cool! I esp. like the Lemmings-scroller :P
This demo kicked asses at the time ! What a pitty that the graphics are not as good as the code...
The best of CPC done by one man?!?!? FH had outlevelled the entire CPC scene just with this... when the others were just doing copperblobs and scrollers...
And the slowest scroller ever made? =P...
And the slowest scroller ever made? =P...
Nice CPC demo and first i ever watched :)
This is an all time classic!
One of the 1st demos I ever seen. The 1st flipping picture, many 3D... a very impressive demo released in 1992 !
Classic !
FACE HUGGER!
A must see!
Excellent.
Still impressive even these days. Find [url=http://www.norecess.net/interview-face-hugger.html]here[url] interview of Face Hugger.

Great.
Not bad!
I read my 1st comment and it's funny. It took me 24 years (but still no gouraud)

There are sometimes where I see something Really innovative to hit the scene,. I see this in many scenes, in PC, in C64, e.t.c...
Ehh,. for me this demos was really innovative! While we were seeing lame scrollers, he made software effects and innovative ideas like Vector balls, Flat Polygons (Do you know that we have to see FLAT POlygons on CPC from 1992 and that the only one time was in THIS DEMO???!), interlaced technique (Like on the C64 where the screen trembles to give you the feeling of a higher resolution/colours (I have seen this on CPC only once in this demo too!), a video file compressed from 100kb to 32kb and a nice Lemmings Part!!!
Impressive is that the demo was coded only by one coder, it was a solo production! He made some gfx (Ok, not that good,. just only to fit the prod) he put some musics from games (And few he composed) and he coded lot's of stuff!
Damn,.. we have to see Flat POlygons from this demo on CPC! (I hope to see Gouraud too oneday :)
