rocked the bigscreen! nice seeing top-quality prods from Outracks again!
Yeah! One of the better demos from this weekend for sure! Nothing really mindblowing, but it has an uplifting style and music and general high quality production.
Not your best, but very nice anyway :) Also big ups for making a vocal track that didn't suck as much as most of the others :)
wow! Really good!
The song sounded almost like Placebo, and that's supposed to be meant as something positive! :D

having listened to the music quite a few times i just can't get it out of my head (that's a good thing :) - the fractal-stuff is absolutely beautiful!
After listening to the music a couple of times I've grown to like it so much that I've had it on repeat for 7-8 loops now :)
music owns

Great visuals and great music.
great demo. the soundtrack rules
Really Nice! How this could lose against an unimaginative and ugly 3D show.. oh wait, I know.
Great soundtrack! One of the few times were I actually liked vocals in a demo.

Julia is big!
Nice demo from outracks as usual. When it comes to the music I am not so sure I am a fan though... Have to agree with ekoli about the placebo-part though. the singer somewhat sounded like the singer in placebo.
nice
mostly ugly visuals but the fractals were ok and the soundtrack was good
My eyes didn't like the gfx, annoying music but nice fractals. Nice to hear a soundtrack that's a bit different from most demo soundtracks even though I didn't like it.
Top prod from outracks. The penguin picture seems a bit out of place, and the demo seems totally out of synch on P4 2.8GHz, Radeon X300, windowed mode. The demo finishes quite a while before the song does (I don't get to hear the whole song). Something to fix for the final-final? :)
Visuals are quite nice but this one is a real CPU/GPU/Memory hog! I can't watch it with my machine (XP2100+, 512MB DDR, GF4Ti4400 128MB) properly. And the music KICKS ASS! The music if fucking ace!
now then, how many fucking coup de cours can i have on this shitty webforum..
and why are they all from outracks..
but actually the beginning was a bit boring, the soundtrack just makes this demo so damn nice that i had forgotten it in the end :)

Very good. We need more movement and animation in the future !!
gotta agree with leia here.
the demo isn't really that good but the soundtrack just makes it so god damn awesome just by itself.

I think PlayPsyCo should have placed second, but indeed not a bad demo.
Cool julia. More action, more fps on a decent PC and a listenable music would be nice though.
Nice try guys. Remember that transitions do not hurt. use them :-) Irvin, thanks for the soundtrack!
I think i'm becoming soft because i'm not thumbing this down. Well, had some nice things but not my cup of tea.
Pitty that in my machine (512MB Ram, 256MB Vram) it still needs more memory (HD working, black screen, loosing some scenes), cause some effects are great (Water and quaternion fractals actually) and I love the music.
Cool julia bits and other stuff. The music was a bit too "futurepop" for me to digest. Piggie it is.
Eats RAM, but still very nice. Too bad the clothsim-effect bugs on my PC
Complete letdown of a demo, it's the music that I want babies with.
Cool fractals and music, but overall I think this demo lacks the flow of your previous efforts. Anyway - you'll come back to crush us again I'm sure :-)
ok so i waited 7-8 minutes for precalc and nothing happened. now what?
1.2ghz P3 with 256MB RAM and a r9800 pro. disk is constantly working, taskmanager says 300MB of VM and 150MB of memory
nothing too special.
I really liked the quaternion fractal but the rest didn't quite meet my expectations.
Why? Because I had high hopes of seing something mindblowing (and I know you can do it).

The music really rocks, but the rest is just boring...
nice ... my 512 MB suffered a lot .. not talking about my HD... the music is damn nice
sorry. precalced forever. weird german gothish style. odd soundtrack. fucked up my os radically after termination. not as classy or stylish as synthematik.
I expected better visuals (okay, fuckings to everyone who expects something better because of earlier prods) and the soundtrack could be better. I admit I like the track the more I play it, which usually happens which this kind of songs. I have been a fan of the last Irvin tracks so...
Still a piggy tho
Still a piggy tho
Ok , just to confirm my first impression ... the irvin soung is one of the best i know .. reminds me depeche mode somehow.
For once the vocals are well done and the music finds its own way.

okay, but not my taste. a bit boring...
nice.
Music was good. Demo was overalll
.....
the code is good.
the gfx are decent.
the music is awesome.
the demo _sucks ass_
big fuckings for not beeing able to do fitting design for the great soundtrack.

The quaternions looked very aliased. You might want to try supersampling on the grid to get decent isovalues, so you get better results with less polys (and less precalc/waste of memory).
no, there was potential but something was missing from it. and i'm over bored of this kind of synthpop/futurepop-stuff.
seriously ugly as fuck and lacks any sort of design/syncs/direction but the soundtrack is so very good that it lifts this abomination from "sucks" to a piggie. also some effects were quite nice. too bad it all was wasted.
The demo itself is average.
But the music is excellent. This is electro pop but the melody is cool, well produced with this little demoscene spirit in it.

This demo is nVidia 3DStereo compatible... put on your anaglyph glasses! B-)
this song has started to play in my head even when i sleep...
so if this doesnt get a scene.org awards for best soundtrack i'll personally kill someone in that jury :)

i dunno, i kinda hope it doesnt...
it's a good song but there's nothing that made it unforgettable for me.
maybe it just needs a couple of more listens.
or a demo that fits.
finally watched it (thanks duckers), and i have mixed feelings.
it's a good demo but it doesnt feel "one".
we have a good track and good visuals but.. they just dont meet.
maybe i was just expecting another Synthematik. :/

music is fucking excellent, but no matter how much i love duckers, i just hate hate the visuals. fractals are evil and these particular ones aren't even pretty. the rest seems rather uninspired, too.
maybe the coders love this. i sure don't.

yes, after many listenings I have to say that the music is spoilt by being in a demo ;) It deserves a far better destiny than being in a so average demo.
I sang it all the day with this little melody in mind and it has a very good pro production. Really.

dreams/screams, me/be, me/see, hurt/dirt, fate/hate... rhyming scene-poetry, please make it go away :´(
The visuals didn't really improve anything...

somehow pretty nice.. especially music rockz! (and next time please use some kind of smooth to unsharp those noisy julias :)
Pretty weak thumb up for me, I expected things fitting better together (and beter gfx...)
The demo is nothing spectacular, but i want to see Irvin getting an award for the great soundtrack as well.
I stopped the process after 20+ minutes of precalc. The ogg sounds more or less like some pathetic pet shop boys crap but even worser.
hitchhikr: Aaawww... are we a bit ticked off because our crappy PC can't handle the precalc? Buy some more RAM, have a beer and try comparing the soundtrack to an actual Pet Shop Boys track, and you'll se why you're wrong.
my opinion about the music is VITTUARGH
it didn't even want to start here (it show the precalculating screen and then it didnt do anything - the memory usage was ~250mb)
okayish visuals, but ohhh.. the music...
Doesn't seem to work here, but I just had to listen to the music anyway, since everyone seems to be going nuts about how great it is. I was so let down to notice it sounded like an average futurepop tune with awful vocals and I'm not sure, but I think I heard autotune being used for the vocals at some part :(
Thumbs down for the music, but not for the production since I couldn't see it :)

hm..the music is actually very demoish in some ways.Congrats, Irvin.
Okay, my computer is four years old but nothing will save a demo that requires over an hour of precalc.
They can code, they can paint and they can sing :)
The 4d fractals are great! Nice music too.
i don't know, really... music is well done, but somewhat cheesy.. visuals was not that interesting, even tho i like bumps..
Yikes. If one were to view a screenshot, one might think this demo has promise. But the actual movements are very plain, predictable, and seen billion and billions of times before. Didn't care for the music one bit. The vocalist didn't sound convincing and lyrics were cheese whiz.
If all the time needed for the precalc is due to the two quaternion Julias + marching cubes Surely some improvement could be done!
Decreasing the grid density and/or filtering the computed grid values one or two times would help a lot (since it's a fractal object), obtaining a more smooth model, normals and thus a less jaggy env-map.
Good music and positive effort, waiting for a final-final ;).

fur, 4d julia and water
hmm joa
really sad that I missed this on the bigscreen, stupid fucked up schedule and stupid security needing help at the worst possible moment :-(
Yep
precalctro :) music should be better without voices :) still rocks.
congrats on the different style music...precalcs very quick here...cool demo
Finally saw it, and the precalc wasn't that long on my computer.. Stunning demo. Beautiful, great music that made me want to sing along, great code, and the inherent beauty of fractals. <3 <3 <3
thumb up for music, thumb up for trying to use 2d art, thumb down for the quality of the 2d art, thumb down for crashing my computer at the end.
WOW !!!!
amazing demo, great effects, superb prod ;)
good job <wow>

very nice music and stuff..
but i like more the outracks-in-your-face© style ;-)
they can code, they can write music, they can pixel and paint, but unfortunately they can NOT SING!(!)
these vocals sound like some recording from an gaily karaoke evening.
especially the " you keep hurting " part has to be taken literally by the listener. 8[
still a good prod tho, but please sell your mic, whoever you are.

geez. great.
i really really hate this demo. There are some nice ideas and good looking stuff, but the song really sucks, the water blows and so on. It all makes this demo a piece of shit.
Despite that, i love you.
Despite that, i love you.
demo does not make it but damn great soundtrack.
this runs terribly to point of almostfreeze on my radeon9200.. visually looks very interesting though :) well done!
tune: accompaniment is good, but the melody and singer suck - waay too "placebo - every me every you".
still, ok demo. a keeper.

what else can i say but, SWEET DEMO!
The soundtrack does not match the graphics at all and there's just not much in the way of design here, it really seem rushed.
It's sad, the music and the fractals could've made a nice demo but this isn't it.

shame for the antares autotune effect in the soundtrack.
Very nice, even if it gets very slide-show-ish at the final huge object :)
I like the music... even the autotune-ish vocs :P

No slowdowns here. The water at the beginning looks quite impressive and there are some other nice parts as well. Tho, I am almost tempted to give thumb down here because of the totally fucked up music. Without the vocals it would have been at least acceptable but with the vocals it just totally sucks. And it's the reason I will NEVER EVER watch this demo again. Gawd, what a HORRIBLE music!
Awesome! Great gfx and super music. :)
What bothers me is the camera directing. If you're going to show something up close, like the airy blobl thing, then you shouldn't use that view for very long. Use long cuts for wider angle shots. I'm still rather new to the scene, but when I saw the 0,5m poly object that is all I ever thought of it. In other words, the 4D julia fractal doesn't mean all that much to a guy like me. The music wasn't my taste either. The vocals ruined it for me.
absolutely horriible music.
Inconsistent, too spikeballish, etc.
Nontheless...
Nontheless...
some nice scenes (especially the fractals) and a great soundtrack... =)
mega!
i like
i like too
The demo could never really catch me but the soundtrack was like instand love. I guess it's time now to pay some tribute with a thumb.
Time to pay some tribute for me as well. Worst soundtrack ever in a demo.
i would not say the music is my taste, but well i kinda appreciate the efforts and the quality
the fractals were ok
about to give a piggy but in the end good enough to raise my thumb

YOU KEEP HURTING

YOU KEEP HURTING MEEEEEEEEE

Meh... I partly understand why Irvin wanted to use a singer, but sadly the singer is not very good and the singing melody is bad - doesn't really fit the tune. Apart from that, it's an OK prod.
nice.
i like it, too
no comment yet? this rocks!!!! especially the music.
up!
roxxs ;)
Awesomage :DD. I adore the soundtrack and it works surprisingly well with the visuals. A lot of cold colours and cold feeling in nice combination with the theme of the song/lyrics. Very well done. I would have liked to see realtime rendered Julia fractals though. As it looked now it could've been an offline-rendered fractal object. The true niceness of 4D Julia fractals lies in the way they shift shape when calculated in realtime and when shifting through different 3D slices of the four-dimensional fractal.
what's up with the soundtrack
extraordinary soundtrack but high quality
Such a nice soundtrack. High Quality version would be great...and more stuff from the composer/singer ;)
Awesome soundtrack!
I thought I'd thumbed this up. Great demo and the soundtrack is amazing. I usually hate scene vocals, but this is just an excellent composition. Reminds me a bit of Placebo's better stuff.
Really like the soundtrack - demo has several interesting effects too!
Made a Highres Youtube Rip for it featuring the complete nice preloader track :)

For Julia!
good one
this demo is just one of my all time fav from outracks. i'd thumb this up again with my other account. the demo makes it because of the soundtrack. the lyrics are quite good! and the color-scheme is perfect for this kind of style.
Thumb up for the music.
Yeah. Great sound

gives me 404 error message.
i really wanted to see the lyrics :(
i luv this demo btw
Well done, Kelvin!
Great tune!
variform meets vocals :) nice all around!
ouch, lyrics :D
great demo, the song is fire
