It's totally the kind of demo I like, Amiga 1992 style definitly rulez :)
Came 4th in the ASM '92 competition. Competition version had wrong module (looped in 30seconds) ... Is notoriously hard to run sometimes :D

cant get this working properly, just hangs on a spinning vector disk right at the start...

Weird and slow loader, doesn't run here either. Might require 2.0(?). I don't have that on any of my Amigas. Freezes on A1200-060 after the first pic.
If I try stock A1200 default config in WinUAE, it doesn't freeze on the first anim, but gurus after the planecut.
That's OK. No software is future-compatible. But it seems not super compatible either :P
And there's no Youtube that I could link. So who will be the first to record a capture? :)

Loader works on 1.3 but the disks are broken!
I recall spending quite a lot of time some years ago trying to get this to work with Toni (maintainer of WinUAE). We dug up numerous different versions of the disks, with not much luck. Would be really interested in seeing a fully working version :)

We tried to do that too but failed. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I have a version of the demo on disk where only a some frames of the intro animation are messed up, the disk images I've downloaded have all been in worse state.

I finally got the demo to run. I tried many configurations and the one that worked was A500+/020/AGA/DMA/Wait4Blitter/WinUAE4.1.0.
The music keeps playing shortly after the last scene and ends normally without a cut off (and then simply loops from start), so I guess MAYBE the end screen/credits is missing?

Yeah, the demo definitely crashed in your video. The intro-sequence is also broken, the music seems to be slightly corrupted and the animation is really messed up.
Demo can work still, even though the intro seq and music are corrupted. I had this version, though it still can also crash later :D *sigh*
I happen to have the demo on disks from 1993 which I got from Yolk back in the day. They still work and I am 100% sure that I managed to watch this demo from start to finish few times when I got lucky. :P
The demo can crash pretty much at any point but if one manages get to the last pink (underwater?) vector cube the last major test is the ending logo. Apx. 98% of attempts that's where the demo finally crashes but I have managed to see the last logo couple of times. :)
