It was too slow for me, but then I've halved the step and it was ok. I like the score.
Nitpick: the game freezes when an invalid key is pressed. This makes playing in WinXP awkward (you can't alt-enter the console).

Nice. We had a competition 13 years ago in which the participants had to code a similar game in Assembler. The smallest entry had 48 bytes. More info here.
