Deserved winner by being different. Distinct style with appealing mix of pixels and vectors instead of trying to make the 060 a GPU. Reminded me of Starstruck in this respect. Totally ruled on the big screen and the big sound system.
Very well designed and nice graphics but it doesn't really work for me. Might be the music which I can't stand.

Nice but somehow I think that the concept overlaped everything else. Catchy tune, nice fade-ins and we have a winner. A winner which is just populous. Not the best of all five. It shouldn't be like this...

Before I saw Elude's entry I thought this was going to win. But it DID win, so I guess that's ok ;D. Probably the best soundtrack and design of the entire compo, I enjoyed every minute of it :D.

My deepest respect for Aske (Blueberry)!! He spent the whole party time trying to put this damn demo together and then… to get it working as suddenly, 30 minutes before the deadline something went wrong and the demo started to crash while checking on real Amiga. It was just a race against time! And it’s a true miracle that we were able to deliver it on time. Well… it’s not quite right. Charlie, the Amiga compo org, has moved the deadline from 12 AM to 11 PM (thanks, man!!) and this way we’ve handed it over to recording guys barely 20 mins before the compo. We didn’t manage to finish it though and there are still 3 effects, endpart and some minor stuff missing. We plan to release the final version shortly.

BTW, final versions of the top 3 placed demos were all finished and delivered after the official deadline and we didn't had so many entries, so we just left the release window open for everyone. I guess that was fair enough. But hurry up next time, and release the final ASAP!

Rulez. Not a winner for me (Elude should), but still enjoyable. Unfortunately missing some kind of icing o a cake, last last years 8-bit part. Plus for music, atmosphere and overall quality. Minus for effects (still none except slideshow), cheesy lyrics and dr.house. Tiny minus for using rubbish typography, but probably nobody except me mind that shit :)
I enjoyed the crap out of this one - great soundtrack too. :) Also: best. intro. ever!

Funny; when I saw this on the big screen, I immediately thought "Oh, vocals. That won't resonate well with the peeps at pouet", and it seems I was right. Again. People, get over yourself, really.
Oh, and apart from that: Nice demo. Nothing too special (I also missed the effects somehow) but lifts you up when watching. Thumbs up for that.

While Shake Off The Dust was perhaps more technically impressive, when it comes to style I prefer this over Elude's "more serious than a heart attack" approach. Just a really fun overall experience.
Feel good demo with perfect flow. Could do with some more effects. The rewatch value is already quite high with the compo version, but I will spare my thumb for the final.

Dynamic, pretty, and generally speaking not boring, which based on the average revision's level was an achievement :)
everything was fine..until the george michael double began to sing.
The amount of subtle finetuning in this production really does the trick. Graphics are fantastic as well as the music. Really well produced and not at all the usual demostyle stuff. Really uplifting!

Well, I had the possibility to take a sneak preview from the row behind you guys, I instantly love the colour scheme, and these polygon blob things.

Great graphics + sound. Nice to see the superfast flatshade engine again. Also the ditherwipes are cool. I'd have liked if the objects were tessellated in a more ordered fashion (quads mesh?) instead of triangles. I think that could have made it even more slick.

Fantastic soundtrack and overall this is one of my favourite Amiga demos.
No real killer effects (and buggy tunnel on my Apollo 1260?) but I liked the polys and loved the 14-bit 'wav'player, nice to hear quality produced sound :)

My HDD isn't small, it's spatially challenged! :) I suspected the groovy tune was what upped the size... What format was the music made in?
The music is 28604Hz, 14-bit stereo. The 14-bit sample values are delta coded (separately for each channel) and the deltas are gamma-coded.
Since the graphics don't take up very much space, we had plenty of space to spend on the music while staying within the 20MB size limit, thus we opted for lossless compression.

Just watched this a second time and it's just as good. I love demos that perfectly meld graphics, code, music, and design to convey a feeling, and Human Traffic just excels.
Hm, much better upon rewatching (at least based on my original comment). Nice track and very well implemented visuals. Still feels a bit "thin" though, like a it's a minute too short.

Remembered this and just had to watch it again. The lighting, the ordered-dither transitions, the music... this is one of my favorite Amiga prods ever.
