well abit boring for me but not bad at all.
the scroler at the end was the best :)

one of the top ten demos of 2003! ;) lots of wiggling black vertical lines!
it's pretty well done.. there were a couple unique ideas tacked on to many familiar things (3d scene explorer, tunnel).. there's one abstract object i really liked.. the music is much too 'epic' for me.. overall there was a certain lack of cohesion with little to link the various parts together.. good marks for effort tho.
great work, k-storm. Your demos are getting better and better. A bit low precision in the zbuffer in the flyby-scene, though. Keep improving guys! :)

Is this the same Skarab that participated so passionately in an anti-3d acceleration discussion here on pouet.net not too long ago? :)

I'd like to hear your opinion on hardware rendering now then :)

At least your accelerated demos look much better than your software ones (you now have a stable subpixel-corrected rasterizer for one :)

Scali, i think that...ehm... 3D ACCELERATION KILLS THE DEMOSCENE !!! No, I joke :)) 3d acceleration is sex, but i don't know if our next demo will be 3d accelerated... maybe not. cause i'm fed up to create 3d scenes :( no I don't know, maybe a software demo using the same engine but with no correction :))) it'll be ugly :) i'll use rgb color like in the past huhu :) and using text mode sure :)
Seriously, now i'm sure that 3d acceleration is the futur (even if i like all those very good games as Z or Dune2000). more seriously i haven't sleep this night just to finish this demo (somebody says he was boring but try to imagine me watching it all the night just to add some little code-lines:)) i think i'm mad... so i think nothing now about the 3d acceleration, i don't think, my mind is broken.
i must go to drink coffee now. see u later :)

Seems to uses similar elements from the preivous demo. Lightings, particles, writers, torches, wavulating stuff, etc.. lightnings are used better, the use of the bitmap/strip lines makes it look not bad, generally nice feeling, not a vast improvement from the previous one, but moving well..

wow! i'm amazed! skarab learned how to make a demo!

bad stuff:
- textwriter
- coder colors (says the one who created the coderest looking intro ever :))
- noise overlay is more annoying than designish
- no greetz :(
- incoherent :)
- EXTENSIVE loading time

good parts:
- damn nice music
- some ok modelling
- solid code

i hoppe there will be a successor to this piece!

- The musics sounds like a techno remix of Jean-Michelle Jarre... (read: I don't like it)
- Design flaw: what's the relation between the title and the demo ?

I wonder about that large 3ds file (1035kb) in the maps directory called "island.3ds"
containing the terrain from the 1st scene. No offence ... but i think you should consider
calculating objets like this at runtime (aswell all those trees).

yeah sure. but in this prod the loading time is too long cause of calculating shadows in the beginning ;) In our next prod it'll be saved in other files. The engin, 2d/3d graphisms 2d/3d will be improved, and the music as good as the others, so wait one or two weeks :)
