First demo ever made on the Thomson MO5.
A tape version will hopefully be made available soon (I have some problems getting it working...)

To run this :
* Get dcmoto emulator http://dcmoto.free.fr/download/prog/dcmoto_201101.zip
* Options > Paramètres > Anglais (at top left) (not mandatory but will be better)
* also check MO5 in the machine list, and CD90-640 floppy controller
* file > load disk > boot disk image http://logicielsmoto.com/download.php?fileid=488
* type DOS at the basic prompt
* finally, insert the prod disk and type RUN" (the quote is left shift + 2)

Tape version should be easier to use...
Got that after typing RUN"
Quote:
Error 62
OK
Until a tape version is available, maybe a snapshot of the prod could be included in the zip too?
Mh... quite a good idea.

So, to run from disk, last step is actually RUN"AUTO.BAT
To run from snapshot :
* step 1,2
* 3: select MO5 in machine list
* file > restore snapshot

A bit simpler... why didn't I think of it ?

zipfile updated with snapshot inside (mrx file).
Cool for a firstie I guess.
Now code something that actually uses the screen.

Yes, this is just some partycoding. Next year I'll have something ready some time before going... :)
Oh just in case : press some key (long enough for the keyboard scanning routine) at the title screen to get to the actual effect which is some kind of bad plasma. doesn't look as good as I thought it would...
For the platform!

I see there are some Thomson demos, but I guess this is the first for MO5?

What is the spec of MO5 especially compared to the later models?

Yes, the other demos are for TO8. The TO8 has 256 to 512K of RAM, 4096 colors, dozens of video mode, 6bit DAC for sound, ...

The MO5 has 48K of RAM, no page flipping for the video (so everything has to be done in software), an 1bit buzzer for sound, only 16 colors with 8x1 blocks constraint (the TO8 has this mode but also modes similar to the CPC).
Rulez! RUN"AUTO.BAT works.

Archive updated with a tape version. This one loads with RUN", and works with all emulators I could test : dcmoto, dcmo5, marcel'o'cinq, and mess.

Also available online (needs java) : http://www.alternative-system.com/specific/emu/java/index.htm. Here the tape is called INTRO.K7 and you have to run it with LOADM"",,R
Cool for 512b. By the way for the tape version, you could have used escape sequences in the file name to clear screen, change colors an spare a couple of bytes.

That's cheating and not allowed by the party rules.

Anyway, it's actually less than 512 bytes... I didn't ran out of space but out of time before the deadline at the demoparty :)
French pride thumb-up.
