It works the other way, the OpenGL renderer emulates text mode.

I like Hedelmae, I love textmode demos and this demo is rock solid -> thumb of course.
However, I'd like to point out that the OpenGL renderer does *not* produce the same output as the console version, because real console output would be 720x400, not 640x400 :)

720? The char size is 8x8 in Windows therefore 640x400 is correct:)
The character size is 8x8 *in Windows*, yes. But the VGA hardware generates a 9th column. Thus, the image generated from your OpenGL renderer (which is a really great idea BTW and highly appreciated!) is not identical to what you get when running the textmode version in fullscreen.

This is correct, but wouldn't that 9th column yield a somewhat odd picture with a modern video mode using square pixels?
