The original was awesome as hell, this most certainly wasn't :(
It's not as awesome as the original and they killed the brilliant soundtrack, nevertheless this version is OK to watch.

While it's interesting to see how a remake of an old demo would look like, there are many doubts whether it would be a good idea or not (we had this http://pouet.net/topic.php?which=7559)
This one is not so bad actually as the thumbs down indicate, but it left me a bad taste in my mouth, mostly because I feel like there is annoying overuse of the blurring/distortion during the whole demo. I remember there was such a thing in the old too but it wasn't so tiring iirc. I might watch the win32 port of the classic to remember again.
Oh,. and the scenes with the blobs where going a bit slow. I am wondering what the performance issue is here since my GPU is quite good and the remaining CPU code (marching cubes, etc) was running in the old one smoother in a Pentium 1. But anyway, not so significant here.

portal scene is nice ... and the soundtrack still semi-works ... yet this feels like a chinese pirate-copy of a Hyperventilation-wannabe.
I'm utterly disappointed.

Oh noes. :( The original is still among my top 10 PC/DOS demos of all time. But this is just what Shockwav3 said.
this is easy to bash - and so be it: why make a remake that is actually uglier than the original? this would have made sense to me if the 3d-scenes were upgraded with proper lighting, shading, etc. but this is just plain stupid.

It would have made sense IF it was better than the original demo. Instead, the remix of the song is a lot worse than the original tracker tune and this is just... unnecessary in every way.
Pretty pointless in my opinion, some stuff looked somewhat good but especially the 3d was horrific. Soundtrack was given a nice lift but it's really not that special. Too inferior :/

learn to code (metaballs, jesus christ..), then maybe think of doing a remake, if at all.. the original was more than fine as it is right?
I (almost) like it. Sure, the concept of demo remakes this obvious and predictable is condemnable, but I thought it felt kinda neat anyway.
soory, the tune was soooo nice (in the original) and the demo don't neaded just a few pixels more? anyway this demo gave me a worm feeling (had to watch the "riginal" again)... keep up!!!

I actually kinda enjoyed this during the compo, but in retrospect it was actually quite wrong.
The original tune packed quite a punch that this one lacks. And as the original demo was driven by the music which was excellent.. this is an utter failure.

I get a white screen, HD 5650
WHERE CAN I GIVE AN EXTRA THUMB DOWN? this version has lost all the rawness and power the original had and once again, that metaballs routine is so bad it makes me want to attach my nards to a car battery, to temporarily distract my eyes from the screen.
Yaay! You took one of your best demos and made it crap! The music was way beter being a crappy 8 bit mod.

Not as ugly as I expected, but 10 times the file size just for more blur/distortion and a telephone quality soundtrack?
Can't watch unfortunately, it calls a null function pointer and goes to hell. Tried on wine and winxp, same thing. Geforce 7600gt.
I don't think it was THAT bad... more like "2005" remix rather than 2010.. but still not that bad :-)

the 3d scenes don't look any good (they are very nehe-ish), and the music lost the energy of the original. plus we already had the windows port... i think it would have been a better idea to do an original demo guys.
Wow, no. The 3d scenes lack the, I dunno, 'atmosphere' (or was it just black fog, I don't care) of the original... the music is lacking the noise... the bouncing balls are out of sync with the tune... and the metaballs, well. No.

I liked it. A classic demo remade with a few new ideas and remixed music with an ending more glorious than the original. I wouldn't say that it was perfect, but a good effort and worth watching multiple times.
