Really great job guys, and thank you for the trying something original / with a concept.
They are things to say (pacing, some ubernice scenes and some quite ugly), but the work is awesome and the result very charming (and the music rulez).

I really like the city and the endpart was a nice surprise too. Other than that I find it a bit uneventful and the rather boring music didn't really help. Still, nice intro and quite impressive for a firstie.

woo lordy, this must've been a SHITLOAD of work. looks like kakiarts got a challenger in the "more ideas than anyone else"-category.
I reaaallly loved it at the compo. With a little bit more shading/lighting/postprocessimg, it would be one of my all time favorites. Simple concept, extremely well executed.
I can't say it is beautiful, but:
1) Respect for such a huge work.
2) It was interesting to watch. This definetely makes intro to be thumb-upped.

Wow, impressive amount of work, a nice story, some beautiful scenes, music pretty. Would deserve some postprocessing, better color/theming of some scenes, but definitely a breakthrough for a 1st prod, congrats!

Some great ideas but some ugly transitions and presentation. I like the game of life and the subpixels. I didn't like the fullscreen giant pixels effect or the music. So pig.

Really should have added some shadows (even in the last 1k), or reflections. piggy for good design.

Especially the first half didn't look that great. Shadows would really improve it. But thumb up for the nice concept and amount of work.

Grand, good work, and after hearing some of the backstory to it's making, even more the impressive, hence a well deserved thumb.
Incredible job you've made boys !! Writting the song from the storyboard was something really special... hear it with this demo is incredible !! I was realy proud you let me once again work you, getting out my Pause Mode... I realy would like to add vocals to the song, but it was absolutly not so easy ;)

@gloom: there's still an unresolved issue we're working on; try with a smaller resolution, it should work just fine.

To begin with I was going to stay this lacked any feeling - however once passed through the factory scenes it gets much better and I especially like the cube trees (towards the end) and the end scene itself is very nice - enjoyable music too.

The resolution bug seems to be happening to many people, which means it should be quite straightforward to fix. Honestly, we've been nothing much but resting since Evoke. ;-) So be a bit patient for the final version.

Cubes never get boring, and these are the most innovative cubes I've seen in a long time. Cute and filled with scene love!

This is a firstie to remember. I was slightly irritated by the music at first, but i got into it more and more and at the end i was totally in the mood. I enjoyed this way of demomaking with the beautiful soundtrack very much. It all fits together. Worthy winner and thanks for creating this piece!

Great! When i saw the loader i conjectured that it would be a nice prod. I was right :) There are so many nice scenes in it (the last one is awesome!) that i just say: what others said :)
On the technical side, this looks great, but I didn't like it. I think semi story based demos suck IMHO. But keep it up.

Failed the test. Nevertheless, I didn't enjoy, technically great, but the design and music - completely not for me.
Design has to be worked here, but damn! it's full of good ideas + progressive music is totally appropriate + recursive trees are really nice. Desserves its thumb up.
Agree this needs polishing/desigigning, but it still works for me.

The music reminds me of Kraftwerk at times (which is cool!), very nice soundtrack here. The 64k tells a cute story that fits extremely well with the music and this one of the most original demos/intros I've seen the last few years.
