Looking again, it's 5kb. I guess that makes it a failed 4k. I would have thumbed it down at 4kb too :)

Well I give myself a + then :) Well I just wanted to try on a mandelbrot, havent done it earlier and now when I looked into old stuff I thought why not? Yep doing in asm would have been smaller about no doubt about that. But I dont got that time shifting bits from left to rights. Did that 25 years ago...!! Well thanks for your input! Appreciated! O I forgot it zooms in randomly. No particular area is chosen...neither is the color.. its all random except for the mandelbrot.

When I ran it, I got the exact area in the screenshot everytime, you might want to check that. Random other advice:

- Don't thumb your own prods up, people will hate you for it ;)
- Java eating some bytes is not a good excuse - check the prods database on this site, there are a lot of java 4ks, and even 1ks and a 512b. That's not to say it's easy, but don't assume it's impossible.
- Releasing your little experiments like this is a bad idea. When you release it as a demo, we expect a demo and not a quick experiment, and judge it as a demo :)

Still, good to see you doing this and getting some feedback. I'd say do a few more, but link them together (preferably with music and a little synch) so you've got a demo.

c'mon, are you serious? use it as a demo effect and code demos. pouet is not for releasing every single effect coded - or am i wrong?

I havent even tried to make it small... I just wanted to check how it would look in java and hear what you think.Next time, as few bytes as possible andnext time demo! Nothing else and I will add a nice tune to it.

if you just want to discuss your stuff use the bbs. just open a thread or post into one which fits. for a release - the people expect lots more than just one routine test. but i think you got that now. :)

oh, and you do not have to thumb your own stuff down, just don't thumb it up.

well, if you're aiming for a tiny demo (say 4kb), then yes make it as small as possible and you'll get more into the demo. If you just want to write effects and make a demo, don't worry about the size so much, just make cool effects instead. If you make cool stuff AND it's small, that's a huge bonus of course :)
