i was purely shocked with most of demo.
i didn't expected that from flt.
i has no words.
soundtrack, visual design and direction is over the top.

Well deserved win. Original demo and original soundtrack. Thumbs up!
This demo is pure art! Great idea, great execution!
micksam7, haha, check FR's entry :)

Absolutely awesome in the compo.

ihan oikeaan osoitteeseen meni voitto, eri komi on :>
I came, twice.
Does not work on my hardware config :( Video please!
shiny too
Wow! A trip for the eyes and the ears. Amazing demo, totally loved it. More of this please. =)
Mega. Just top of the tops.
This one beats even Second Reality :)
This one beats even Second Reality :)
Technically perfect nothing to say. I am just a little bit frustrated by the lack of additive particle in this demo. Ironically it's the total opposite in another prods ( too much of glow and over saturation ) but here the overall image is not enough satured. But really it's just a little detail. Nice prod, congratulation
breathtaking. completely unique style, perfect match between mood, visuals and music. one of my new favourites! in my mind, i had shades of Another World with the beast running through the forest. :)
ah, such a cool demo.
ah, such a cool demo.
Great.
Smash, you little... :)
Smash, you little... :)
this is so massive that it's scary. coder pr0n, beautiful visuals and a soundtrack to match that. a worthy winner of the last bp.
Awesome demo. Stunning visuals and a great soundtrack! I enjoyed every second of it.
transcending the term "demo" i have nothing but pure love and admiration for this, will remain a classic and milestone for me personaly, very touching on many levels :)
This must reach all time top.
(and it even not went too slideshowy on my gtx260 !)
(and it even not went too slideshowy on my gtx260 !)
amazing stuff!
i was hoping for such a great release from flt, thank you for this beauty!
and here is the thumb
great piece
It was a first time when I had to smoke a cigarette after watching a demo. Pure shock, and pure love.
just awesome
Amazing graphics. Artistically also immense.
This is pure love! When I saw it at the compo I was almost sure there won't be anything better to come. fr-043 is excellent, but no way - here we got the clear winner for sure.
This is not only keito's personal milestone. This is the next and new miiestone of the whole demoscene history. Nuff said.
Yes, you heard it first.
Yes, you heard it first.
Good job in the visuals with interesting music :)
I really can't thumb yet since this runs 2fps my high-end laptop. Thumb will have to wait until I've bought a better laptop(which will take a while).
jawdropping killer demo. destop, you still have the magic touch :)
This is just unbelievable! I was totally stunned by this during the compo (even on crap-quality stream). Just beautiful, beautiful guys! :)
P.S. Any chance of a high quality 1080p capture of this demo? I don't have hardware to run this even remotely realtime.

this is truly amazing, the music is (once again) outstandingly good, the style (STYLE! STYYYLE!) takes my breath away! absolutely fantastic demo! am gonna watch it over and over again today. maybe still tomorrow. congratulations!
Awesome prod. Youtube Video please...
Super awesome. Really enjoyed the poly-less style.
great demo, I wanna watch this again but my gpu is afraid to run this :D please upload a video
I have no words for how impressive this is.
A blockbuster demo in every positive sense of the word.
Slow, boring, not very good for a one effect demo... and music sux a lot
And it reached the 1st place... what a shame
And it reached the 1st place... what a shame
pure coder pr0n
Totally agree with spengler.
a masterpiece with a particularly fantastic soundtrack. It keeps haunting me, and is innovative in every possible way. my major respect. a well deserved winner!
Technically impressive but it does not do it for me.
Blunderbuss + great art = definite win!!!
Masterpiece of coding - but boring and jerky as hell. Winner? Poor demoscene.
Unique, beautiful and atmospheric. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen the whole time it was playing.
I really loved the music, but it did sound a bit cut and paste at times.
Overall, a quality demo and a worthy winner and this concept has incredible potential with advances in technology.

The beauty <3. It almost breaks my heart. It's technically stunning as well. And the MUSIC. The goddamn MUSIC. I am at a loss for words here. A thumb is not enough. This might be among the best 3 demos I've seen in recent years. I like this new Fairlight (vs CNCD :)).
the ones who thumb down this are motherfucking giraffes
crappy slow shit :)
sq: fucking agreed...
eat my cdc :) i love this demo.
Please please please someone make a kkapture of this post-haste!!
love it!
Very good stuff. The only thing that left me with a slight feeling of "meh" was the music and the animations.
Pure awesomeness!
This is sooo beautiful... just breathtaking. Finally a Fairlight production in which everything comes together perfectly. Worthy winner.
The bar just went up quite a big step even further out of reach.

there's no point in making demos anymore!!! [lousy pun, i know] excellent stuff here
yes.
anybody kkapturing? please...?
(and thumb up for what I could see thru the stream already)

rulez!
Marvelous. My favorite demo on Breakpoint. It`s Killer 2/CNCD for me ;)
simply stunning!
Coder pr0n!
Yes, this one RULEZ !
seen on big bp screen.. very, very great work.
Particles.... slow for my GF 9600, 2fps. Not demoscene, but demo - sponsor of hardware's vendor.
Demo should show an incredible visuals on the medium-statistical hardware, but skip a million points on the latest video card.
Вобщем, Файрлайт, такой файрлайт

a demo should be always cutting edge and THIS IS for sure raising the bar on all levels.
Ok, watching this on the stream was absolutely stunning...still searching for that jaw I dropped!
It's on a whole new level...unfortunately, that's also true for the hardware requirements ;-)
Until I get my Cray II from amazon I'll hope for a good video of this one.
Seriously: an excellent production, great music, great atmosphere, fabulous design. Congratulations!

Well, while its not the style of demo i love, it was quite nice to watch and it was a worthy winner for sure :) But the Soundtrack is awesome.
It's not a bad demo but I really can't understand why this demo won. The music makes it quite boring.
pr0n? future of 3d graphics? both? Fairlight, I hate you all!
particle hueta :(
Lovely!
<3
Superb!
This demo overheated my gtx280 and caused a bsod and I'M STILL LOVING IT!
Fuck the haters!!
Fuck the haters!!
porncoding!
i don`t know... may be it is hard work, but it is strange
I was hoping you would do more with this cool particle system and boy you did... :O
very nice!
quite nice stuff
Amazing.
enjoyed every second of it! great atmosphere, great music. so very fresh...
turns my gpu into a pc speaker. abit boring, but a pure piece of art.
music and visuals are way over the top
music and visuals are way over the top
I love every single aspect of it. The music supports the overall mood so well, it hurts. Amazing!
lovely
Shall be knows as the "next best thing since 2nd reality"
i like
Latests nVidia drivers, win7 x64, latest dx, qx6700, 4GB of ram, 1x8800GTX, dual monitor setup, default demo config.
Humanoids part runs at about 1fps or less, the rest is at about 20-30fps.
Running with nVidia 3D vision enabled is disturbing, it puts the stuff way to much "out of the screen".
I Loved this demo, correct density for 2010 :P

Some demos can't be felt by everyone, this one is pushing the arty side of demos in the right direction, when emotions blow out of the abstract. Absolutely brillant, inspired graphics, sensitive code and amazing music. Fucking A.
Amazing dreamscape - amazing tech - love the music, beautiful direction as well. Thanks!
OHA :) super.

And where is that law written?
In fact most/many demos show mediocre visuals on brand-new hardware, so there is no way you can thumb this one down, please. Perhaps it's a piggy what you were looking for.
Rulez.
Amazing, very nice.
kkapture killed demoscene
this is what i wanted to see done with that blunderbuss-tech
At last, everything comes together in a style I can really dig :D Pretty mind blowing visuals, and the art is really good too. I think this will grow on me.
Nicest video card abuse ever!
I wished for BP 2010 to have a "milestone", something to properly celebrate its ending and honour its lineage. There it is.
Beautiful in every way.
Beautiful in every way.
Tickles both the left and the right side of the brain in just the right ways. Awesome.
Worthy winner... I am impressed once again by Smash and the team around him... Just keep it up this way...
Best effects of the year, but in my lap, tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow.
this thing is fucking art in the purest sense of the word, i came in my pants and in my neighbour's pants. Music and visuals just fit so Well... imho this has raised the bar.
Nothing but love for this.
Pure love!
oh yes!
melted my face off
simply awesome.
right before it start Smash ran off though saying "I can't see this" ;)
deserved to win.
1st: this is the best pc demo at bp2010.
2nd: this is great beyond the demoscene.
3rd: what does realtime vs. youtube mean to the demoscene?
if you watch a demo, it does not matter if it is a video file or realtime, it's just a matter of resolution, compression artifacts, framerate and minimal hardware requirements.
if you CREATE a demo, realtime vs. rendering is a HUGE difference in artistic freedom.
DEMO vs. AVI is not a discussion between consumers, it is a discussion between producers.

woooooooooooo
I find the soundtrack annoying and repetitive in a bad way. Other than that it's quite good.
There's something very "chariots of fire" ish in the middle part of the demo.

This really breaths art! This is indeed great beyond the demoscene. What if other creative outlets 'merged' with the demoscene ?
Have a merged competition at some party! Would probably be the best compo ever :)
looking forward to 2010.2
When will the hardware be available to run this demo properly? ;-)

I was sceptical after seeing so much praise, but damn. This really is a masterpiece in every way, from effects to colors to the soundtrack. Miles ahead of the competition.
too slow, it looks like my study point on P133 !

Simply: a masterpiece. Fresh ideas, superbly flowing delivery, great code, superb soundtrack, inspiring.
The other good part of releasing this demo is that now we know the names of poor dickheads who don't know a shit about demoscene, although they think they are.
my cup of tea! (except music)
Just pure awesomeness!
Can't find this from my teacup.
CNCD rules anyway.
CNCD rules anyway.
Extremly beautiful, but quite boring in the long run.
Nice visual style with fitting music.
Very fine visuals...music is fitting but not my deal...anyway: A true winner and great production!
You should see the particle effects my video card is producing, in real time!
I must say that although there are not clear references to religion, this demo is very good
the visuals are brilliant and beautiful and very well complemented by the good soundtrack. which for sure makes this a candidate for several scene.org award nominations (again) next year ;)
wow.
It's awesome!
this heartcore, respect!
beautiful! it was really a privilege to see that on the bigscreen, and the first place is well deserved.
It's really too bad it was rushed for release! Better cohesion between soundtrack and visuals would have made it a killer. Not saying it's a bad demo, it's one of the best in recent years, just that it would probably benefit from a more polished sequel.
Fantastic!!!
A true inspiration to us all! Keep at it mate, you know you really want to!
awesome demo
THUMP UP!
awesome. the music is very good.
One of the most beautiful demos ever. Excellent music. Delivers an amazing deep, melancholic mood. This is true mature art!
Particlicious!
way better than usual :)
Incredible! ...now it's just a matter of time before we see fluids and particles in 4k and 1k and 256b and...
nice track that feet well with an amazing visual
amazing piece of art
Dotsdotsdotsdots
amazing : my pc is too old for running it real time. A decent video would be nice
I like dots. This demo has lots of dots.
Hm, some parts looked like they had postprocesssing... so maybe there were 2 triangles afterall?
Anyway, great ideas and good execution.

impressive stuff
Damn lovely. Great design coupled with a wonderful soundtrack.
Fucking epic.
Fucking epic.
Excellent music and cool style.
The title is an anagram of "cncd fairlight orange" - I guess the third group dropped out. May I suggest "crafting child" for CNCD/Fairlight?
Actual useful review will come later. :)
Actual useful review will come later. :)
how about "Right 'N Flaccid"
True winner, visually and emotionally stunning. I agree with chaos, this is great beyond demoscene.
Thank you guys.
Thank you guys.
What people said <3
Thank you for made this great demo!
I'm glad Fairlight didn't rush this production, because it feels complete and utterly ground-breaking.
Although the excitement with just-finishing-it-in-time can be exhilarating, this transcends from the realms of the high quality demo into a truly timeless production.
Many congratulations to Smash and Co, the bar has once again been raised.

Amazing in every way.
Blew my mind @ BP, thank you. :)

Really liked the fact Fairlight gave a strong entry for he last Breakpoint - excellent demo, and very impressive :)
floats my boat!!1
What most people said PLUS I love the way the larger circles give it a sort of bokeh-like feeling and depth.
so beautiful <3
awesome
unbelievable, belief in demoscene somewhat restored.
1. Thats true demo - something that makes me think - a PC can do that? Wow.
2. Its very artistic, even my wife loves it.
3. Different from other demos, not just better but a whole different direction.
I take back everything I ever said about the only true demoscene being size coding. This demo is absolutely brilliant - so good it defines demoscene. What a way to complete 10 years of breakpoint. Congratulations.

O_O holy liquid sh...
Fawesome!
Particular, but nice.
This is the best demo ever. It's very interesting to see that Fairlight can actually go beyond the same old routine of "part, part, part, part, boom… the end". This is full of emotions, full of blooming feelings. It hit me right on my sweet spot; and for good.
I am totally impressed Smash. Not to mention the one thing you said at Breakpoint (be brave!) is one of the biggest boosters of my performance right now. I totally owe you a lot. I mean it :).

Awesome
Thumb up for the technical achievement, but I really did not like it, found it very boring. (My gf and I both prefer "Wir Sind Einstein" to the three top demos.)
don't like the music the filesize and the framerate but .... rulez anyway !
So finally a coherent & polished (albeit short) flt pc demo instead of the usual messy & rushed ones. And a great demo it is.
Decipher : what did smash say ( I need booster as well ) ?
wow, guys...
that's impressive...!
that's impressive...!
lots of particles look good
beautiful, polished, artsy, quality prod
planets are trendy
Nice fomulas.
Impresive!!
Negative points, personally:
Just for pushing up the hardware standard. Not for impressing by optimizing and crunching for the medium actual standard.
Music seems not to fit in some moments.
The design is strange and a kind of incoherent, previsible.

Hugely soothing logical next step after Blunderbuss. I still like that demo better, but that's probably because of the music. Well done!
very impressive
music wanted as mp3 pleeeeeeeease.
Thumb for the visuals and the code part but the music didn't appeal much to me.
Excellent music. I'm not really into the visuals.
Surprising music and awesome effects. I was worried that FR might win again, but glad you did!!
wow.
i love how fairlight demos have evolved lately. a great experience in many ways!

Technically this is amazing, but as a demo, I dont like it. Maybe i just dont have the eye for art.
Still, thumbs for the particles and the work.
Still, thumbs for the particles and the work.
fresh and inspiring
after watching it at home together with farbrausch demo I must admit that I changed my favourite :). There are several scenes that makes this demo a must see. Also what is very important for me, this demo is perfect for showing it to people that are not sceners. In other words good for outreach sessions. Thanks for some extra steam.
Hmm, I can't put my finger on it, but something doesn't feel right. Still a good demo, though.
btw, WHERE can I get Bliss's song from this demo? Before I have to resort to a little What U Hear rippaging...
Holy FUCK!
Kind of.. I dunno.. magical...great atmosphere. Marvellous demo.
ZOMFG. Did NOT like.
Please don't let BP become another type of Hollywood.

hate the music, but visually stunning...
Really really beautiful. And really really boring. Love the music though.
Great! Wanna see it on hugescreen!
Can't find this musician anywhere. Does anybody know where I can find other songs of Varia?

A demo to remember. 1st place by all means.
I really like this particle effects and physics :) firstclass again by *firstlight* :)
Is there any way to get this to run on the Radeon HD 3850 card? For some reason my card performs exceptionally well for it's specs, and I'd really like to test this one out :P
(The demo opens for me, but tells me Demoliton-FX has stopped working)
(The demo opens for me, but tells me Demoliton-FX has stopped working)
It's seem pretty reasonable that they've developed a nice tool for controlling all this flow.. I wonder what it would look like.. hmm
music sounds like one big sample-slice-fest.
visuals are certainly overly complex and skillful, but simply don't do it for me stylewise -> boring.
besides that it's a slideshow on my system (Q9550+oc'ed 8800gts), even at low-res (800x600).

Thanks for not doing the same demostyle over and over again, thanks for innovating. Without visual difference like this, demoscene would be dead!
Also, I love it!
Also, I love it!
Great one, even if the music is so so !
An entire world built on particles? I never saw a thing like this before. o_O
Really stunning beauty! You deserve devotion.

Love at first sight !!!
guys...you're crazy!
breathtaker!
a firm reason for an upgrade
Very beautiful!
Really nice. Deserved to win.
My mouth was open when this demo was running on the big screen.
It's the first time anything has done that in a very long time.
Thank you.

Particles and physics seems to be state of art at the moment. But combining it to art really rocks!
The ultimate proof that I need a faster GPU!
untel: I believe they already had a world made up of dots in e.g. Extension
(yes that is a joke!) :o)
Topic: paradigm-shifting stuff, I love it!

Any chance for a 1080p/60Hz video, please?
Fresh!
Undoubtly a fresh demo with innovative particles effects. The music is not my cup of tea and sounds cut.
what I like most is that you stood by the same concept through the entire demo and did creative sleek designed things with it. That makes it clean and consistent. Yo've used these particle effects before but not as well directed as this time, so: very nice!
okeanos: i'm pretty sure the sound cuts/unperfect looping are an audio stylistic choice.
awesome technique and atmo :) nothing more to say
Very cool !
Interesting demo.... I liked the idea of making everything with points. Didn't care much about the music though and I thought the whole thing as a demo is very boring.
Wow!
Great!
Can't remember so well what i thought about it at the party, i somehow think i felt a bit bored. But now (sober and tired) at home, it's beautiful and inspiring. Congrats.
1in10, thx a lot
it did work for me on the bigscreen but was damn slow at home. left enough time to check the visuals, which kills the magic :(
arr, soundtrack is nice :) so here's my thumb :)
Any links with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqXpXmFDzF8
oops... any links with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqXpXmFDzF8& ?
knl wtf?
I dunno. Someone linked me to that recently.
haha wtf :D
nice sampling!
nice sampling!
i shit my pants when the dog started running.
hahaha, busted :)
Ok that was seriously awesome. Smash: next time you fake "out of focus waterdrops on lens" make sure the particle you're scaling to achieve that effect moves the other way than the mass it's attached to ;-)
Oops.. forgot something.
nah
Hey, didn't know the soundtrack featured so many samples from the same place. Dunno what I think of that. Maybe I should check out more of the original artist's work then :)?
Oh, SHIT, Socrates was apparently Vangelis' old group? Sweet :D.
so that's more like a remix then :) nice selection DJ Varia. Still doesn't detract from the prodas a whole for me personally and i've been introduced to the Socrates....who are apparently fucking AWESOME!
Thumb down, funny how its acceptable that demoscene musicians steal from others while it`s unacceptable the other way around.
I spit on you
I spit on you
right!
and also if it was a small unknown group he would get a thumb down
also music stinks and ruins the whole demo anyway
smash, you got fucked!
gargaj: feel free to fix my thumb

[Evil] i actually wish musicians on the scene could make such music, which is probably why they (flt) had to resort to outside to find something sutable for the visuals.
i sooooo wanted this one to be an original scene track (bar acceptable sampling). would have made my day. ah well.

This was a nice surprise! The code is still super, and the show itself has a mood of its own. I really like the music, it is hard to imagine this prod with another soundtrack.
I like the demo, and thumbed other demos with ripped soundtrack - like barn from tda.
It's still bad you do it, but yeah, this shit rocks :)
It's still bad you do it, but yeah, this shit rocks :)
afaik Breakneck sent legal request to Sony or whatever to use the music in Barn and is credited
Make your own music. IMHO, this isnt resampling, the whole story of the music matches, so its a DJ piece.
Even bad music is better than tim'landing.
The code is still cool.

My first thought about the Soundtrack was: Some parts sound like from the 70s. So I was right. Nice remix anyway.
Beautiful visuals but the music didn't appeal to me and overall it's not something I would like to watch many times. Who knows maybe it will grow on me later
right, this is all superb (code, music, direction) but not crediting the sampled track is pretty bad...
Amazing :D
not my cup of magic man, but still thumb-able due to freshness and the flaming 'dog'.
Deeply interesting.
When I heard the music for the first time I really enjoyed it and I thought it was like early Vangelis. And now I know it is early Vangelis for real. LOL. :)
So it is a nice remix and now we have two great tracks, the original and this. Is it a problem? I don't think so.
And the demo is the most progressive product for years despite I think that the direction isn't nearly perfect.
Oh and the animation of the "dog from the deep hell" is a bit hm... strange, but ho no it burns!

Like it, smart effects but not blown away. Definitely a thumb up though!
Original.
Some of those dissolving sutff looked fantastic, but the music was a bit annoying.
I get "Demolition-FX Client has stopped working" after the demo freezes on the opening scene (the insert disk 2010).
I'm running windows 7 64-bit with radeon HD 3850, which I don't think is the problem because people with worse cards have run this demo...

Satan back with good oldie stuff Old shool forever - epic shit.
.
This has nice flow, but didn't quite like the music (especially when it's not that original).
Requires too much hardware. Sorry.
Sexy (ab)use of dots and postprocessing, but the sountrack (particularly the vocal section) kinda killed the fun for me...
im so looking forward for the rockstar blogspot about this tech!
Amazing stuff. I don't think the music was that great, and I was really in doubt about thumbing it up, due to the use of Socrates (Vangelis), but as I gave State of Mind thumbs up, I must of course also do it here. Amazing code and really artistic style. Keep it up.
On my Phen X4 955/HD4850/8GB runs 5-10 fps, demo has just improved same effect from previous demos.
I cannot thumb down, because on youtube it looks very nice.

I'll never understand how to thumb down a demo because it didn't fit the viewer's expectation or current hardware spec. what about accepting the intentions and target platform the makers chose, just once and just for the hell of it?
Anyhow: this is freaking awesome and a pleasure to watch. now please provide a high quality video rip soon :)

Deserved to win, because it was different from what is usually made on pc and because it was made well. I don't really like the music, but on the other hand, a pounding drum and bass track wouldn't have suited the beautiful visuals.
smashing demo - absolutely fantastic.
equally massive horrible soundtrack, specially considering that they are just improved drums over an excisting piece (cool that vangelis does the synth work though).
i would say the soundtrack is so close to plagarism that if this was known beforehand, the entire demo could be disqualified. i am sure smash was not aware though.

uhm totally not my cup of tea, visuals are awesome and tune fits well.... and makes me wanna buy new gfx card!! thumb for doing something totally different
Runs brilliantly on my ATI5870, pleasure to watch. I really wonder how the particles were stuck into forms like that :)
Smash is using modern hardware! Boo! Hiss!
odd and great
jolly good, jolly good
there goes the scene.org award nomination for best soundtrack then :D
at least there is not only amusic from greece representing the vocal-demoscene-soundtrack scene.

I think this whole rule of "may not use stuff which previously existed" causes more harm than good... yes, existing work must be credited, but what is wrong about mixing it up in a new way? Or even just using existing music with new visuals, or the other way around?
One of the great things of music remixes is that you may hear a song you like in a new version you like even more. In the case of this demo here, the original song is ok, but personally I like the remix more. So where is the problem? Also, why aren't there any "mash-up" demos, where people mix up existing demos and make some sort of mixed compilation? The only similar thing i know off are the scene-awards-introduction videos (and this 60minute what-it-was-called video) which are very nice to look at, but there should be more of that!
But there isn't more of that because it would not be accepted as "creative work" by too many narrowminded individuals!
Personally, I think copyrighted music+visuals should be accepted in democompos, as long as it is credited and does not violate the laws of the country.

Great!
teraflop: using copyrighted music without permission (more often than not) violates the law by definition, so you just proposed a paradox.
I like the fact that none of the thumb downers had actual valid reasons :D
If that was true, any kind of school festival would be illegal, since there is always some commerical music playing... there are a lot of gray areas, and I think these should be used to full extend. I even know of events where copyrighted music is played in a similar context as in a demoparty (entrance free, free download later), and yet it works somehow.
sorry, meant "entrance fee"
Technically, all those instances of playing the music are illegal indeed, unless the organizers pay a fee to the local collecting instance...
do i see debates on the music being illegal and copyright violation? come on they're fairlight!! back to the piracy roots! \o/
teraflop: yeah, and indeed, if you do any kind of festival larger than maybe 100 people or so, you have to pay fees to some copyright holder organization (GEMA in germany, don't know about other countries). and yes, even school festivals have to pay (whether this is enforced or not depends on the local representatives - i've seen both). the issue here is having it on servers for free download, since that actually counts as piracy if there's no legal license. whether you think it's stupid or not doesn't matter one bit, if you're in violation of the law and have some public visibility (as breakpoint does), you're a target. we've had a bunch of lawyers trying to shut BP down and start a police raid during the party in 2007, it wasn't fun. "it usually works out" is irrelevant here - yes, it usually does as long as you're small or obscure enough to pass under the radar, but that doesn't make it legal, and besides, BP isn't that small, whether you like it or not.
It's a lovely fx and the most interesting soundtrack of the compo. Samples be damned, makes a change from the "couple of VSTs and a midi file would have done it" or "my favourite band is Dream Theater let me bore you all with my 7/8 guitar playing" I heard in recent demos.
Realy nice, love how the moon is just blown away. Music whas okish, but no hit.
HMF. That's a bummer. After listening to the original it's quite harsh to see how little own work is left. And i'm not sorry to say it's lame, lame, lame.
Give credits where credits are due!
Poo!

@ryg
If that's the case, then I guess not much can be done, unfortunately.
Independent from that, I think that from a creative point of view, there is no problem in using existing music/visuals/whatever in a demo - as long as it's referenced.

weeeeell I liked the video! the real deal was rrrrrrrrrrrrrridiculously slow on my computer. :)
teraflop: yes, from a creative standpoint, current copyright law is far too rigid and restrictive, no arguments about that. but we're still liable...
it's cncd & flt, it's stylish.
And from a creative point of view it still sucks IF you don't reference. There's no excuse for real.
Impressive
This give particles a new meaning.
Very excellent design and thoughtful demo.

smash: nah! relax about it man
we, at #ukscene talking way before your post, were pretty sure you had no idea about this and wouldn't release a Timbalized demo
hence the "smash, you got fucked!" I wrote before

if you want, i can do a karaoke version!
i can understand ronny and totally second the "give credit where credit is due" but apparently it looks like they werent aware aswell and credited only the remixer.
the situation is obviously more complicated than the simple "hey i like this copyrighted track lets go and make a demo about it" - so i'm fine with this excuse :)
the copyright issue is another thing but i hope this prod will remain with the original soundtrack :)

beultiful, and technically good, but - -just doesn't grab me..
funny that, as soon as the tech goes beyond the ordinary "woah i can vector-cube-relate that!", people reflect their cluelessness by disrespect. this is something really new there. and it´s awesome. dont be afraid to not understanding this demo as quickly as you´re used to. don´t cover the felt helplessness behind fear and hate! enjoy the show! it is not evil. it´s not magic! it is art!
Whether people get caught, event is obscure, or the legal battle is worth the expenses, the copyright law is there and it's international. Smash should whack the remixer on the head with a box full of plagiarism.
I cannot in clear conscience vote for the demo until the music issue gets resolved. Other than that the demo is excellent on the technical side, but I can't say I enjoyed it very much. It's basically a series of scenes linked by the same particle type of effect, which on the one hand give me the expectation of a storyline, but on the other hand don't offer me one.
Each scene on its own though is very very beautiful.
As for the soundtrack, i prefer the original more than the remix.

Instant winner of forthcoming scene.org 2010 awards for graphics and effects prize. Unbelievable moody, stylish and artistic demoshow. All thumbs up.
my girlfriend liked it too. so double up on thumps from this end! :)=
absolutely beautiful. in every aspect
FLT&CNCD stay on top of the elite of the demoscene. (I didn't say PC demoscene, because this is simply what demos are about, nothing to do with platform.)
And what a fucking soundtrack!! Innovative, beyond perfection, making you want to record it immediately cos you can't wait for the mp3 release :) (I guess it's somewhere, wanted to write this right away.)
(OK, music ending 1 sec before demo was meh but I'm sure it'll be fixed in the final.)
Agree it has a fair chance to win scene.org awards :)
One of those demos that you want to show to everyone you know to make them understand how mindblowingly cool it is being a scener :)

surely the biggest workout my graphics card has had judging by the noises the fan was making, but the demo didn't really do it for me personally
Beautiful prod, one which actually tests my machine for once.
@1in10 thumb up for Jonna Tervomaa :P
Hietala wrote me regarding the YT video and stated that he contacted the original artists and asked them for permission to sample their work.
BTW his YT channel is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/youh0e70

not true. that is not a rule. not at breakpoint, and not on most parties, just remember fr-062: the cube.

yes, it should be credited. that's the point.
to generalize: why is original music important in the demo-scene? because a demo is code+graphics+music, and music is a very important part of it. if you "steal" the music, you have stolen a very important part of the demo, and that is just unfair for all the demosceners that try to create great zero-budget productions doing it all by them self.
anyway, i don't love the demo because of the soundtrack, so shame on you and yeah what a great demo!
one more comment: if a demo runs way to slow on your computer, watch it again in two years: if it is really badly coded, it will still run like shit, if it is well coded, it will run smooth like silk.
this seems to be the second kind. (light)years ahead.

and the obvious sampling would be a no-brainer for everyone.
I thought the sound track was 100% own work. A lot of people still make music in this genre, so why would I ever think it was sampled?
Visualy awesome. No transitions, but some very nice scenes. Some okish, but the atmosphere! Wow! Still holding my thumb because of the music-issue.
"Pieeeuw"
I have to go find my brain, it blew out back around the flowers.
Actually, since the previous Fairlight particle magic demo had a completely original song with vocals and a rather different style than the usual demo soundtrack too, I don't think the sampling/remixing was that obvious.

Absolutely lol. Scalable demoengines.
My thumb goes for fantastic music of this demo.

My currently biggest issue with the demo is a moral one. I was sitting there in the compo and was so much caught by the overall atmosphere which the soundtrack donated a lot to.
Would it have the same impact with a different soundtrack? In the end, would it have won?
Would it have the same impact with a different soundtrack? In the end, would it have won?
Regarding the soundtrack: I definitely thought it used a lot of samples (seriously, did anyone really think that these guys did their own 70:ies style recording and THEN sampled it?) but that the different samples were from different places to such an extent that crediting all the sources would be too tedious. However, if you sample so heavily from one source it would be nice to see something like "Music: Varia (samples from Socrates)" in the credits. I mean, I love the original and I'm glad that people pointed it out. Now I have two musical artists to check out :). I don't mind at all that people sample other music, personally I think that the demoscene is a lot about cultural rehashing. Have you listened to demo soundtracks from late 80:ies/early 90:ies? Fuckin' italo/Front 242 drivel ;D... Nah, but seriously, being inspired by and using other musical sources is completely valid - and sometimes necessary to achieve a certain sound - but pointing out the source material is just simple courtesy!
My thumb remains and I love the soundtrack just as much as before. I just wish that people would be more careful to acknowledge the original artists so that the audience would be able to enjoy the original music as well.

Also: Awesome to see that Blamstrain was involved in this production. Really dig your work, man :D.
Blamstrain, i dig your work for a long time. You know it. And yes, it is 2010. Because of that i didn't have any doubt at all that there are musicians in the scene that would make such music as original work.
If you want to tell people it's okay to label others work as your own you should look for a different scene. I always believed that this is all about skills and OWN work. That plays a very important role for many of us.

1in10. holy shit man, are you serious? really, if you are going to go around ripping other peoples work and not giving credit - you better just stop composing music (not that you did that in this song anyways). there is a difference between sampling and stealing and entire idea. the latter MUST be credited - or you will be looked upon as a big fucking loser by the majority of folks here who have an ounce of integrity and respect for original artists. dumbass.
ok first things first: for me, the demo is a clear winner. Ambience, color, effects all top-notch. It takes guts to pull that through. Only 3-4 scenes but done to perfection!
When I watched it I thought that the music was amazing. It fits with the demo perfectly. Unfortunately I found out that it is almost entirely copied from another source. It doesn't affect my judgement on the demo (I still believe it is the best so far in 2010) but reminded me of this:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=10546
It is interesting to see how the same people reacted then and now. I remember the award ceremony at assembly 2003 when "basketball-bat" abyss announced that they'd be disqualified for that (I believe they were going to get 3rd place prize). Imagine their horror! They played with fire and got burned badly.
So, always, be careful with referencing.
Nevertheless, great demo and a thumb up.

i just picked up an mp3 instead of guitar.
why? you can't play the guitar? :)
seriously, you must be out of your mind if you think you can get away with it that way. nobody - I think - is judging your musical capabilities, au contraire, it is a great remix you've done, for sure it took a lot of work, specially if you're not a trained musician and have to figure out chords and time signatures.
but to ommit that it was heavily sampled from some other place is a serious mistake. really. either you didn't give a fuck or you simply thought no-one would notice. get real. this is the demoscene. NOTHING goes unnoticed.
still, what I think is your biggest mistake is your present attitude. because if you would come here (and with here I mean the demoscene, even though pouet != scene...) and state "sorry guys, yes it was sampled and we forgot to mention that. can we be excused?" probably you could get away with it.
but this way? sorry. great job, but lousy posture. this is not the scene way.
i don't think people here appreciate the magic of that Socretes track and how crucial it is for this demo as a whole (try watching the demo with some other song, fe). You can't just create songs like that on demand just because you want to and it was a PERFECT match for the demo. so i understand 100% why it was used.
i don't know if Bliss chose it _specifically_ for the demo visuals, but if he did than the selection ALONE (nevermind the fact that he didnt create it) was critical. he matched visuals and audio perfectly to help create the magic in this production which i do not think would have come about using any other song. certainly not by using anything most demoscene musicians are able to create.
I know BP and scene.org have to be careful what they host, but as to the moral "rights and wrongs" of remixing this song...FUCK IT. it just had to be afic.

Who cares, nobody will be sued since the demoscene is dead. Ok, the zombies here will argue that this demo have an extra advantage with the atmospheric music, but who cares, zombies always gets blown up by a shotgun.
at least tell me the 'remix' was done in VangelisTracker
I think the discussion should be put outside this Review Thread.
I believe Smash didnt know about it, so i wouldnt overreact on this one. The demo rules anyway, maybe they can remix the music and replace it.

The style of Varia is cultural rehashing, and I can assure you that more work and know-how went into the track than most demo soundtracks usually take. :)
Well, yes and no. The original, perhaps, but the edit for the demo was not good. Clearly audible cuts, reverbs that disappear suddenly, clicking - just not good. Please don't take the "yes, I didn't make it, but I'm such a good musician that it shouldn't matter"-route, since it's unnecessary and demeaning.

i just picked up an mp3 instead of guitar. its 2010. if you know music as i do you understand that lot of things you can do are against the law. that shouldnt stop anybody creating. why put these chains on just because its the pack way. as usual for demoscene the point is lost as the people with hate and no understanding start to bash. i could have done anything but i chose to do this. i have no limits.
I don't know how to react to this, so I'll just do a "what xerxes said", add a "w-o-w", and take two steps back.
if socrates responds by mail and give their ok, just release a final version with proper credits.
Great even if i like fr- better :)
Don't forget, that the music comes from CNCD, not Fairlight. Probably someone tried to compromise Fairlight on purpose.
This theory reminds me of politics in Hungary :)
Its a pity, that Smash has to spend time on finding a solution instead of doing more coding.

rightfully so, if you'd release your version commercially you could look for a nice place to stay somewhere in copyright hell... so if i was you i'd rather have a nice cup of shut the fuck up instead of bashing random people.

drama.
Actually I watched it a couple more times and it definitely grows on you, I'll have to come back and give a thumbs up...
As for the copyright controversy, I couldn't give a shit if it's illegal or not, copyright law can suck my balls. But not giving credit is inexcusable. 1in10 SHOULD let smash or whoever wrote this demo, know where the credit must go.

1in10: accusing xerxes of being a copycat musician while copying someone else's work is a tiny tiny bit misplaced, don't you think? Also, saying "I have no limits" is a bit off. Have a reality check.

There's nothing wrong with a remix. In fact I like good remixes. But usually a remix used like your's is presented like "music: original artist - track title (remixed by)" and not like "music: varia", because it's simply a lie. Leave out the sampled parts and then let's talk about the question if the rest of the track can even still be called "music".
"I have no limits" - Yeah, at least it's pretty obvious you don't know them. And I'm afraid the inappropriate comments of the kind you recently used to post here won't make it any better.

A bit slow paced for my taste but it suits the ambient pretty well. The running thing in the forest gave me the goosebumps.

saying this is one effect prod is just stupid, the amount of setup work etc for each scene is immense.
I tried to see this on my laptop which has windows but its 9600m card was struggling. The wolf running part didn't even render, the screen went black. Then I saw the streaming video and I have to admit I'm very impressed by the visuals. I remember talking with navis about something similar after I saw what he did with his particle system in Animal Attraction. I'm going to give it a thumbs up simply because the sheer amount of work for producing the visuals must have been staggering though I can't ignore the bad move on using ripped music and not at least giving some credit.
technically ahead as usual \\o
the controversy is a joke (and a bless actually), the music fits the visuals perfectly, like VIP2!

killer demo! brilliant effect(s), design and music!
but it should have been disqualified!
what a pitty :-(

Liked it though it crawled on my 9650M GT... but, hey, it's a Fairlight demo, I'm used to that ;)
I don't like the music, really.
But very nice the "art of dot"! Very complex work! :D
Unfortunately it requires a series of supercomputers to render it proprely @ 1080p :|

Amazing visuals, great music, very cool effects. Best demo of the year so far.
Thumb for an awesome demo - especially the opening flower-scene and the burning animal in the forrest.
What should be said regarding the music, has already been several times. Though i still don't like the "piiiooou" sound and the abrupt ending.

far out!

Just... wow!
This was nice. On many levels. Great job guys!
What Puryx said.
Definite thumb up. Although I too feel like the concept could have been explored more, and direction was lacking things aswell.
code = top, but a bit to slow (maybe reduce the particles on lower machinces & gfx cards)
design = top
visuals = top
music = good
the flower scene is amazing.
critic: dont like the animation of the beast

Too much of a good thing is wonderful.
Wow, amazing renderer engine!
Completely gobsmacking.
new & different...worthy² 1st place
Yeah.
Nice artwork, music was good and the particle rendering was made well as well, but overusage of fluid dynamics in an obvious way somehow made the demo feel cheap. Otherwise would thumb this up but maybe this has already more of them than it would deserve :P
wow shit is trippy
hhhhhh: yeah, because fluid dynamics is really common these days! pfft.
i want yolk or sulphur.
outstanding
thec: that may look like fluid dynamics, but i'm willing to bet that it's just artful application of curl noise :)
and again: watching realtime ain´t possible !
this demo is BLUNDERBUSS ON COCAINE !
before i start showing you , what ye did wrong, i´ll just thumb it :p

Oh, and what Puryx said!
Oh, and what Puryx said!
it decelerates on XP, but works fast on VISTA
The moon part is a total win.
I don't understand why that animal running has to be in slow motion, it's a bit of a glitch on the flow.
The running guys part is great, aesthetically and movement-wise.
I wish someday kurli and smash collaborate on a prod. That'll be fucking amazing.

Awesome. Even on a 360p Youtube capture.
I'm blown away. :)

wow
Oh! Good Job!
runs decently on my rather old pc
love it
Well, fuck. I *did* get a 'Telefon' (PSP demo?) vibe when I saw it. But it seemed plausible it could be made for a 64K, and big names, so.
The music does have some merits over the original (at least in this context). Perfect matching to the demo mood, drops and synth spots, for example. I'm holding a shaky thumb since the visuals hold their own in 64K, but it would be nice to know what FLT/CNCD thinks about this, just in case Varia slipped them salt peter...
I'm not going to be a hypocrite and pretend demos never borrowed from popular mainstream songs, god knows it was common in the late 80s. But samples, harmonies AND composition? Even with size limits, it's getting hard to see where the musician's work fits in to make this a demo track.
Still an inspiring demo, but leaving a bad taste in the mouth.
OK, /Drama. I'm not the first to comment on it either, but. I did get a reaction I didn't like when I checked the links. Unexpected.

About the whole sampling issue.. even though in my eyes it holds no significance, this would be a prod. where you'd overlook it. We had the same discussion when VIP2 was released 10 (or 9 or 11?) years ago and please, people, walk to hell with it already.
Fucking solid job, end of story.

core2 duo e6600, 6gb ram, gts250 1gb, win7 64bit
runs like a *dog* at 1920x1200.. mebe 10-15 fps..
runs fine at 800x600..
hint: less effort into candy, and more effort into efficiency/opitmisation and youll get a better response here.
voxels & particles render like shit on any gpu with fuq all ram and low numbers of streams..
i dont give a shit how good a prod it is, if it runs like shit on a box like mine, then there's something fucking wrong with its optimisaiton..
end of story.
its art, but runs like a fart. Music is OK, but not stunning.
very underwhelmed. not even in the same galaxy as state of the art. whover voted this for #1 @ bp are either groupies or starfuckers.

A 1st place well deserved. Hope to see it as a winner in multiple categories at the next scene awards.
And seeing more and more _direction_ in scene demos is a real pleasure -- the "coder colors" and "effect pack" era started to get long in the tooth.

"gritty and smooth" at the same time, really interesting.
Would love to see a version with better transitions and (especially) better camerawork, btw.
@plek_is_back - That GPU is basically a 8800GTS (G92) so cira late 2007. I got my GTX280 back in june '08 and it's old hat now. Well relatively speaking.
Sorry last comment was meant for baldrick! Apologies. Fail!
guys that is somewhat truly amazing. the music is ace (even if it's "ripped") and my aesthetical senses are also very pleased. love the "particle"flow of this.. seein that there are possibilities for effectdemos today is absolutely great.
HauMaïFewkeenGawd !!!!
baldrick: Sorry that we didn't take your GPU into consideration when voting (based on what we saw on the bigscreen, which was a really fluid animation).
saga, er no not really, in fact it stuttered like hell on the bigscreen, and part of that was our fault (ran the demo in 1920x1080 instead of 1280x720), but even in 720p, there's still scenes with <20fps on the compo machine rig.
The visuals are amazing!
Thumb up, especially for the running animal scene. When I saw this one I knew you win (after Rove had some doubts, but anyway). Beauty.
ryg: hmm, maybe it was so late that my brain only worked at 10fps. :) i didn't really have the impression that it was stuttering.
just woah..
The visuals are stunning, but the music is way too schizophrenic for me. Still a solid thumb though.
As technically impressive as this is, I like it even more for being weird and beautiful.
this prod [rulez] rulez
love it!
great
new trend?
Visually in control. As a one effect demo, so-so. As always you need icore to run these demos coded by him.
This is really massive!
This was just completely fantastic. Pure love here for the zero-polygon approach. When that moon picture came in, I was definitely thinking 'yeah, this is a bitmap, no doubt'. Then it wasn't, and my mind was blown.
Awesome! Deserves to enter the hall of fame! Love the music, but i'm not sure about the ripped material without credit though. Despite the fantastic outcome, in a competition...i dont know, i guess this prize opened up a precedence. Other groups may do the same from now on...
Ao contrário da crença comum, mesmo quando não és apanhado continua a ser mau karma :(
I can report that this demo kicks massive butt on GTX 480.
I need to thumb this up !
Wonderful! The deserved Winner!
Meh... Piggy for the particles...
I'm confused. This demo is technically outstanding, the result is beautiful, and I like smash's comment about doing what they felt like. But on the other hand this credit less copyrighted music issue and the related comments would call for a thumb down. I'll give a piggy I guess.
Very, very cool. Massive props for being unique
Does not work. I had to watch from YouTube.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Slow in resolutions over 640x480... the full particle display idea is really neat but maybe it's too early to release a prod that use it for the whole demo...
I also disapointed a CNCD demo could not been sounded by a CNCD member ^^ (and i don't like the vocal part of the music)
Anyway, it will be foolish for me not to thumb up this...

possibly the best demo i've ever seen. the ending seemed quite sudden though.
incredible graphics. i like the particle fx, no fan of the music
umm.. wow.
the production itself is very good, a perfect demo. superb code and just magic. that's why the thumb goes up.
but varia (1in10 or whoever that else is), the soundtrack is a complete ripoff of the original (socrates - queen of the universe). i'm currently listening to it. you just add much reverbs, effects, recycling and cutting and the cuts are *very* audible. and even now you don't reference the original on your page:
http://store.varia.tv/album/agenda-circling-forth
you should be ashamed of yourself.

Visuals and code are superb, and some things I have trouble figuring out - which makes it fun, of course :) Unfortunately the music, especially the repetitive vocal part gets annoying very fast, I wish I could see this with another soundtrack. But thumb up it is, never the less.
Wonder how I could not like it when I saw it at the bigscreen.
However, more credit should have been given to the soundtrack.

i cant stop watching it.
The best demo of all times!
Beautiful, and very special. I love the movements of things. It feels very organic in a way. Also, nice music. :3
Amazing...
rulez
This is amazing, a new way of rendering, it's beautiful, revolutionary. But please - don't use any vocals in demo music, it ruins everything.
This one is cool aswell! Deffo thumbs up!
So many Points so beautifully arranged. Together with the music -> beautiful
Made a Highres YT Rip for it
Made a Highres YT Rip for it
I would "rulez" it for its design, its technical content and etc. But there's something that annoys me in this demo: the musician simply took the Socrates' song, worked on a poor remix over it and credited himself.
Mindblowing, almost perfect imo. I´m just getting angry everytime i hear those hard sample cuts in the beginning of the show. They annoy me alot, destroying my flow watching it.
FUTURE OF DEMOSCENE THERE!
Fantastic. Original. Beautiful. Outstanding. Technically advanced. Fuck yeah!
Fantastic. Original. Beautiful. Outstanding. Technically advanced. Fuck yeah!
oh well
Thumb up for original and amazing visual technique, despite some disadvantages.
Well played! Loved Rove and Vokawardoai more, to be honest, but goddamn smash's coding abilities are incredible.
pure awesomeness \o/
just bought the soundtrack :p
Incredible! Best use of particles EVER and a brilliantly good example of how to design things properly.
Heavy stuff........
Just brilliant in a demoscene
This is the perfect demo, doubt I'll ever see anything better..
This is state of the art of the 2010s.
music, style, atmosphere.
mssing words, this is THE shit! one of the best demos ever seen.
Can't catch the breath.
ossom
This is beyond demo making. Besides the tech part this is pure art.
nice rendering
Not my favourite from the "particles" series, and the "animal" animation is a bit amateurish, but it's of course a great prod, most of the screen are really beautiful :)
That scene with the moon gives me chills every time I see it! Fantastic work and a fantastic soundtrack. Only small gripe I have is with the processing of the vocals. Cutting them off a bit hard here, it seems. Still, an amazingly great track and as usual, the techstuff is probably insane too ;)
style!
Fairlight quality!
I did not thumb this one up yet? what! fixed.
Imagine making your first prod, imagine doing it at the party place, imagine staying awake for more than 24h - handing your prod in, and wait for the compos to start.
I stood there, tired as fuck - saw our demo on that fucking massive huge screen - the music playing loud and hearing a bass that was not from this planet. Trying to keep awake, after one unbelievable amazing demo was played after ours - just to be topped by the one that came after it. Having the feeling that this compo will never end, and actually hoping that it never does. Feeling a bit proud that we've too have been a tiny part of this compo.
Then silence, after we're done yelling and clapping for the prod that just ended - Fairlight is coming up next - curses are heard left and right, everybody being pumped to see what they're up to.
HOLY FUCK SHIT DAMN!
Seeing something that was out of this world, so many particles that the night sky would just admit it's being second. A tune, that has such a bass that the floor would tremble.
Jaws have been lost until today when the scene with the two runners was shown, but nobody cared as the bass was swelling up again - some Finnish guy was yelling: "louder" but we never heard from him again.
Suddenly the "End of compo" beam slide was shown, everyone hanging their head in shame - walking away from the bright full high definition screen - thinking the scene just died, a little. Even heard about a laptop being thrown, in the hope that the elders of the scene would notice - and keeping the scene alive by offering that bits and bytes of that cracked open machine.
It didn't help, Fairlight took over the scene, again.

This prod sucks. I wasn't able to run it on a fresh Windows 7 install due to some missing "msvcp71.dll" and "msvcr71.dll", and even after obtaining them the demo just hangs on the loading screen. It might have gotten a thumbs-up if the demo worked worth half a shit on my system and there were some way of getting ahold of these arcane DLLs that the demo demands, but since there isn't, fuck this demo and fuck CNCD and fuck Farlight in the first fucking place.
This one is in my personal top 10 collection. Amazing everything.
My second favorite Fairlight demo. Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. I lack the words to describe how awesome I find this.
Yes, that is one nice demo.
Music doesn't fit. Color is almost non-existant. As for the figures at the end, I don't like "aesthetics of disgust".
Awesome effects...

how did I forget to thumb this? oh thats right, it was released before I got back into the scene. In my top 10!
In my all time top 10 !!
massive!! what h0ff said :)
mandatory thumb. beyond awesome!
Great demo, piggy for hilariously lame excuses for stolen music.
Feels like a living painting - mindblowing visuals.
I think this is one of the best particle based demos ever made.
Fairlight
still amazing
.
Extraordinary morphing effects and this fluffily music. A.W.E.S.O.M.E. This production beams you away. Congratulation for this masterpiece.
marvellous!
I've been searching for this for the better part of a decade. <3
late thumb
outstanding use of particles
a pleasure to watch!

rewatched this one after and couldnt help but notice i still experience fps slowdowns with my (ok not state of the art) nvidia 1060.
taking into account this demo is over 10 years old by now i wonder if it would run faster if ported to a newer engine (e.g. the current version of notch).

Only works in windowed mode (fullscreen automatically minimizes the window) and only up to 1920x1080 (window size up to 1920x1200). Still great though...
nice one, for sure

Freaking beautiful.
