Yeeess! Amazing visuals!!!
Lots of content and niceness in it, but somehow "nice" is what it makes me feel and not in a good way. I would want to thumb up the volcano part, but something prevents me. A flyby this long should really have more soul in it.
Excellent modelling and a really great 3d engine. The textures went from ok to bad, but the scenes still managed to look very impressive.
what Preacher said
Very impressive visuals and nice lighting.
Piggy. Worse demo in the compo IMHO. Just a lot of nothing after a huge loading. Everything looks the same, with that oldschool bumbmapping, the soundtrack is boring... and nothing really happens. Just a few disconnected scenes.
...that's not a piggy.
i think you mean "worst"
Attention whore. Needs to chill out.
What Preacher said. I'll give it a thumb up though as the graphics and music is very nice.
ASD-ish once again, though this time around it was done right, or at least better. It was a lot more coherent and looked a lot better. Even the music was enjoyable.
a bit boring 3d flyby with jerky camera moves. Still needs heavy polishing and better music for my thumb up
ok demo
Looks and sounds nice enough but this just went on before my eyes on the stream and i really didn't even notice when it ended.
Some constructive criticism:
+ great engine, good performance
+ nice textures and 3d scenes
+ better concept than in your last Assembly demo
- Too many ideas lifted from other demos (e.g. "The Fulcrum", "Claudia") or movies ("Stargate")
- Music wasn't really special
- The abstract scenes (wormhole, blue lightnings) looked rather dull
All in all I have to say that I enjoyed the demo and it's a solid thumb up...

very nice effects. but some parts needs to get a little bir more polished.

ASD-ish indeed, but not painfully so. Those guys are getting somewhere.
loadtime is a joke for what is there... pig
Some very beautiful scenes, though I felt the whole thing was kinda "soulless". Still thumbs up of course
Yeah, no. Just a messy heap of shiny things slapped together with some mediocre music. But not completely hopeless, I expect to see something better from you guys some day :)
Great !
Nice show. Loved the volumetric lights the most. (Fx. the part shown in the lower right of the production screen shot on this page.)
Music was nice also.
Bit long loading.

very well made 3d flyby.
- loading time
- abstract scenes that did not fit the rest
- flyby
Sorry. Piggie for the effort.

Good basis materials, perhaps require more work to get the whole stand together in a more consistant way.
At least it looked good (in most places ;) )

skeleton (and other things) could have been animated, instead it was a 3d flyby.
nice shaders/materials. still piggy because you can do better than this..

I really liked this. Good music :)
great models and scenes, but not much design.
Well done !!!
Very good lighting and mood, but the music was underwhelming and there was no real feel to it, except for "shiny" and "dark".
i'm ambivalent. there's a lot of good stuff in there and the effort clearly shows, and in the end i concluded that there's nothing WRONG with it... but it's not there yet. a little more attention to making the demo feel a bit more an experience than just a random showoff will pay off in later prods :)
meh.
A fine 3D engine, but apart from that this have me nothing.

Nice visuals, good music...
same bugs as blackspawn on Vista64
same exception what blackpawn quoted... win xp pro 64 bit here
looks and sounds very good
Not really my taste but it features good things and it's a nice improvement over your prod from last year.
Completely horrible camerawork... but great modelling, rendering, and coherency. Music was good, yet not outstanding.
Overall nice
Overall nice
What teel said but with a piggy, since some of the shiny things were really cool.

Getting what blackpawn is.
from what i recall from the asm stream, this prod is a major step up from the group's last asm prod. i liked.

your loading time is awesome. the rest is just boring flyby, which surely has some serious craftmanship involved, but this is simply not enough.
It's weird. A low-res sw rendered version of this would have been the epitome of demo design 10 years ago, but these days it's barely more than an ok-ish lightshow.
excellent light efx.
lots of content.
lots of content.
there goes the thumb for not working under 64bit OS.
Random 3D scenes, no design and direction.
not what i like. but this is still some nice work!
quite ok engine but felt empty and hollow. also i hate all the epic crap and i didn't like the music. this is better than your last asm prod though.
i wish you would have a different style as you have lots of potential.
i wish you would have a different style as you have lots of potential.
Just a bit too much of a large 3D-flyby, but it does have nice objects and a nice soundtrack. Probably a bit inconsistent though.
Music is great, although a bit cheesy perhaps. 3D is great too, although worlds are a little empty, there's not much direction going on.
I really liked this. Wicked textures, but as mentioned from others - with a little more direction and pace, you guys could go from very good to excellent. Keep it up!
Pretty nice, worth of the thumb just about. Nice sound track if a little basic in composition. Camera movement in places felt a bit stop-start(or mabye mechanical describes it best, ie it didn't flow that smoothly) like at the Volcano scene. IMO not a 2nd place demo but a decent 2nd windows demo for your team. I look forward to seeing more from you guys beyond a pretty flyby.
Yeah, the music is totally disconnected from the visuals but there are some nice things in there.
I really recommend you guys try out different styles by maybe doing some smaller (in terms of effort) demos for smaller demoparties. ;)

I remember liking what you'd done vs last year before some groups came in and stomped all over the competition with their demo.
neither the cheesy music nor the random 3d scenes made me happy. thumb down from denmark.
Boring flyby.
this is an unimaginative and badly designed demonstration of some shiny shaders. the best part was to pyrotech logo at the start...
good
hmm. Amazing amount of work. The lighting of some scenes (esp. the vulcano-part) is amazing, but the final result is... well... suggestion cool future productions: More syncing (e.g. in the glitches part), more music, more cuts instead of camera-paths, more dirt in the air.
Please to a final (ask gloom for some music), don't do any more modeling, make it less then 3 minutes. Add glitches, and cuts. Sync to sound effects. Use a consistent color scheme. Keep the best effects for the final 3rd. Ahhh this would be a cool demo, indeed.

great
Really good 3d engine, lots of good scenes, some good ideas.. but it's let down by a few things I think.
The design overall feels a little dated, and it doesn't fit together as a whole somehow - it's like an asd demo, but without a theme or message. Also, the camera movement was too fast in a lot of places, and too erratic.
Weak thumb overall.. if you're doing demos like this, you're very close to being a great group I think. Just need the last couple of pieces to fall into place :)

not bad but design/style bored me
great light-show!
the credits scene and the volcano were also great.
watched this on the stream. Really nice prod with great details, but it will never run on my fucking hardware. :<
Some great visuals but the prod feels incoherent and lasted too long
What everyone said before.
I thumb it up only because I like lighting in some scenes.
I thumb it up only because I like lighting in some scenes.
A bit cheesy but I liked the lighting and modelling so thumb.
I loved the colors and light effects! Totally my cup of golden beans. The concept was interestingly, just a bit slow paced and long time shown. But still, kewl beans!
Nice shading, but too stereotypal for my tastes.
Vista64 fix plz
some nice scenes in it.. however the music doesn't fit at all. would have been way better with a track fitting to the visuals.
nice demo
:)
what Zplex said, anyway nice work =)
A pleasure to watch and listen :)
sorry, completely indistinguishable from the division demo that came last. I don't remember a single scene (apart from the loader... or was it in a different demo?). Placing a shock, but still shows great potential.
Good one!
decent objects and bumpmapping, but nothing that struck me as amazing, attractive or memorable. not sure why it took so long to load either. and too much rotating toward the end. i'm glad not everything is monochrome and experimental, and that it's not that much of a ripoff of anyone else's style, but it could use some more artwork or consistent design or story or emotional music or.. something. in this day and age, it just strikes me as.. allright.
but, kudos for running fast (i got constant full framerate at 1920x1200) and not doing crazy stuff that only works on one model of video cards. :)
Very cool, love the design and music is wicked. Reminds me in parts of Pink Floyd / David Gilmour. Congrats on comming 2nd.
Should've won I think...some of it felt a bit incoherent but the volcano and synth lead were just sick :D
Liked that. Nice visuals and music (except the static part) Loading time was worth it!
not really worth watching it more than once. and the music was horrible.
+ nice textures
+ good models
+ entertaining flyby
- music sounded like an ancient relict from the 90ies newskool
- lack of design
- lack of singularity

-music, but i liked
This demo shows a bunch of good 3d scenes with nice textures, models and lightning. The music is not bad, but its not really fitting in, its like something that is played but is not part of the demo itself. What the demo lacks most is something that holds everything together, call it design, call it a red line. I was very much missing that. Obviously the skills are there, so to give things a bit more sense next time.
Thumbs up for the work you put into this and to motivate you to keep making demos.

oh man was it one fucking long loading there... nice 3D scenes, pimped as well. but please do show more than bare flyby. nevertheless deserves a thumb up.
I just watched it and thought the biggest problem with it was that the music did not match what happened on screen. While it's a great standalone track, it completely does not melt with the visuals. And that's a shame. The demo has some great scenes IMO, such as the circle with the tentacle-like spotlights, which unfortunately aren't able to show their full potential. With a fitting track, the demo would be twice as good. Thumb up for the great visuals and the overall passion. Keep it up guys. I enjoy watching your prods!
some nice atmosphere in this one.
ok flyby
I enjoyed the intro/outro, the scene with the six-branch-wheel, the abstract scenes and the final scene (with screens).
But the rest and the whole demo lacks some originality/soul and design imho.
The soundtrack is nice but a little bit too generic, and is too much disconnected from the visuals.
Huge amount of work but I think you should spend a (large) part of the worktime on the design for the next one, it could be really great.

what Axel said.
doesn't work in my machine.
windows7 x64 rc1, geforce 8800gtx, qx6700, multimonitor.
all libraries updated to latests versions.

it's still not there, but I think there is potential here. Thumb up for the huge effort.
THIS IS a demo, for sure!
what aftu said!
what's up with all the low-res glossy bump maps these days ? adding bump != looking good you know. This actually ruins a couple of scenes. At least, those that weren't already by the overdose of "synch to nothing" or just too random visuals. I usually try to stay positive or at least constructive, so i'll say: next time try to be more coherent, less generic, and try to make the music actually fit the demo, both in term of style and sync. thx. and use some jpg compression or something, 40MB wtf?
okish
Think Axel hits the nail on its head here... So I follow him and Sir :D
Liked very much - nice lighting from the opejing object to the final scenes in fog.
Absolutely awesome! Left me speechless, shouldhavewon(tm).
should be much shorter
took to long to load and to long :(
Nice
some gfx was ok but unfortunately the music was not. And a total lack of atmosphere.
What Saga Musix said.
Looked good, very enjoyable show, nice music too :)
nice tech
Looks nice in the youtube vid...
now - any sign of fixes/finals so evryone can run it??

There are definately signs of a 64 bit windows fix but these are difficult times because of the global economy so we will just have to be patient.
your eagle symbol is cool!
music makes this one a bit flybyish (in asd style) :D
waiting for your next demo!!

i love this!!
in particular -
...how you youtubed the loader bar
...how you play with light in this demo
...the guitars in the music
...that this is not as dark and sad as 90% of what the demoscene produces
...how cool the lighting is. wait i'm repeating myself

I just re-watched it, needs thumb for the absurdly large modelling and shader-coding effort..!
nice
Will it ever be fixed for Win7 x64? Works fine in XP x32 though.
some nice stuff here and there but the music just .. ugh
Very beautiful visual overload! Win7 fix would be really appreciated :)
The whole demo was pretty much just a boring flyby with nice but dull 3d graphics
.
rad
If you have problems with the launcher, you can make your own:
Code:
// params: width, height, windowed
typedef void (__cdecl *RUNPROC)(int, int, BOOL);
HMODULE dll;
RUNPROC proc;
dll = LoadLibraryA("project_avarus.dll");
proc = (RUNPROC)GetProcAddress(dll, "run");
(proc)(1920, 1200, FALSE);
FreeLibrary(dll);
Weirdly, I never commented this one.
But anyway, to me it's a piggy because of the ASD-ish feel + the music.
Nice technic, now I'm waiting for some more originality.

I like it!

Hoping to see your guys next effort this year :)
Very sad...STILL no win7 x64 fix yet!!
So I can't watch it here, too!

cool show. and thanks to the new loader it also runs on win7 64bit
Cool!
loader works, but the process sticks around after demo is finished.
Cool!
64bit loader sadly missing. Apart from that a nice demo with a nice tune, although as other have mentioned, the tune feels a bit misplaced
k+
Damn good music.
Soundtrack available?
did not enjoy it at all.
I like it a lot ! Especially the soundtrack . I listen to it every now and then .
