This download includes a 14Mb mpeg video. If you have a TI-83 calculator (and a transfer-cable) you can download this version instead, which only includes the binaries and weighs in at 18kb.

good work shadow, this is the second demo i have seen on TI83 (the first one did i see back in 98 or something. its called RiDE)i think its sad that not more people are doing demos for this machine since its capable of so much.. in fact, you could actually have music in a demo too. that would be sweet.

Are there Any Emuz for this Calc ... so i can load the non 14mb-big File down???
added on the 2002-04-04 01:59:21 by sic sic
Yes, there are emus for the TI-83, for example Virtual TI[ which I used while developing the demo. The thing is that you need a ROM from the original calc to get it running, and it's illegal to distribute that.

Good stuff, really enjoyed watching it on the partyplace. too bad, it won't run on my TI-83plus.

FooLman : You tried running the included monochrm.8xp on your TI-83+? I thought it would work, since ION-stuff is suppsoed to be portable. Not good.. :(
added on the 2002-04-04 10:39:44 by Sdw Sdw
...but no sound! :)
rulez added on the 2002-04-04 20:07:00 by diver diver
Sdw: to be exact: the monochrm.8xp runs until the "more-than-2-color-pic" part, but there it hangs before displaying the picture.
On pressing "on" it wipes the ram completely clean, no trace ION or monochromatic or anything left... :(

foolman : I've done some research, and apparantly there is a strange limit that only allows the TI-83+ to run code located in the first 8.8k of mem, so I'm working on a version where I move the code to the front of the mem and the data back, maybe it'll work on the 83+. Thanks for your feedback.

"Wow Amazing!this guy coded this in my little poor calculator,..erm..uh.. btw all my tomorrow Algebra's formulae has blown on the wind!"

I planed a production for the Casio CFX 9850, but with it's BASIC it is to slow and with this prod on the TI I can forget my idea...

I think I have tracked down the problem with TI-83+ and will release a fixed version shortly. My apologies to those of you who tried it and had to reset your 83+ calcs.

Really cool demo. I wonder, is the wormhole table included or is it generated during the run?

Well, i was kinda disepointed at you noice. Only half the resolution in the precalc tunnel parts...

Now I've fixed the issues with the TI-83+. I've replaced the files I've linked to earlier (both the original download and the the one without the video with versions that include the updated binary files.

Hmm? Has someone changed this? I'm pretty sure that when I added it, I set the party (MS2002) and rank (2nd) correct when I added it.
added on the 2002-08-23 12:04:08 by Sdw Sdw
probably happened when it was moved from wild to ti8x ...
added on the 2002-08-23 13:13:56 by Dalton Dalton

think it's nice that ti demos are listed together, there's not too many of them and it helps the ti scene =)

I've seen the video, and I find it simply amazing. Would like to watch it on my TI83plus, but I get "syntax error". I have no idea what to do, any help?
rulez added on the 2003-04-22 10:00:28 by L4s3r L4s3r
To run it on a TI83Plus, transfer the file monochrm.8xp to you calculator, you also need to have some kind of ION-shell installed, and run it from that.
added on the 2003-04-23 13:41:12 by Sdw Sdw
Aaah! That ion-shell did the trick :)

Never played around that much with my calculator.

Thanks for the reply.

Alright, I have a few questions concerning the fullscreen 4 color grayscale.

To have 4 colors, you need to have at least two stored versions of the image, flipping them into the video memory, right? That means, your probably using both graphmems, as that's probably the only place you could store it. But is the memory access actually fast enough to flip BOTH buffers into the vidmem, at a high enough frequency to "fake" grayscale. I don't know, I didn't think that was actually possible on the TI. Anyways kudos for the effect =)
Nice looking wormhole too!

Don't mind my atrocious grammar =)
added on the 2004-09-24 18:49:27 by Nezbie Nezbie
well nezbie...the ram is very slow, but so are the lcd-pixels...which is why you dont't have to update them very fast =)
