shazz: you do understand that anonymous users like myself cannot download stuff from the incoming path right, that would be madness(sparta!!!).

try this one :
ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/incoming/parties/2007/Sundown/oldskool_Demo_Competition/

Everything in /incoming is write only, you know.
ah damn I did not know... all my apologies... ok I feel a little dumb...
Who can transfer it to the right place on scene.org ?

Quite a nice demo design-wise, and nice use of ATTR fx, but maybe not as special as I was expecting for a 1st place.
pretty good despite being made by evilpaul!
the bomb is nice!
shazz, the sceneorg admins will do it soon, if they haven't done so already, even.
Yo.
Man, this demo is f*cking impressive. I LOVE the stuff. It definitelly roxx.
Kind regards.

Hehe, it's funny, those people that write in forums like if it was an email, even funnier when its on IM.
I'll have to watch this prod somehow anyway.

Dear Trace,
I find it quite odd too!

Totally cool style!
I've enjoy it a lot. Loved the most when the blocks looked like Boulderdash. Also sweet bombs of course :)
cool Spectrum stuff!
Scene.org staff transfered the video :
http://scene.org/file.php?file=%2Fparties%2F2007%2Fsundown07%2Foldskool_demo%2Fatebit_bomb.avi&fileinfo
Thx Skrebbel

the video doesn't run in either quicktime (with all known components installed) or VLC. please use a standard codec when publishing video-versions of demos.
Gloom, this video was captured using RealSpectrum (which handles the codec and so on), it plays well using Media Player, but I agree transcoding is probably needed (that's the first time I see VLC unable to handle a video file !)
Really cool demo !
Please give the bombs back now if u don't need it anymore ;)

Love the spraypaint stuff in the intro...
shazz: IIRC, RealSpectrum outputs lossless RLE-encoded AVI (i.e. basically a stream of BMP images), which is why 3-4 minutes of 16-colour 320x200 video comes out at 100Mb - yes, transcoding would be a good idea :-)

My eyes have indeed been pleased! :)
I need MOAR!
cool!
cute stuff
Awesome!
the best on zx (this year)
Good and fresh music, interesting sound. I guess it has been inspired by Flamboyant by Pet Shop Boys :) The demo is very nice and the spray sounds are quite impressive (AY noise or sample?). evilpaul can do design things which were usually never seen on Speccy before. And we've seen many demos. Yes.
Like it! Excellent Spectrum stuff.
wow just rocks!
Thumb from me, this is pro. The music appears to be a cover of Chicane's "Saltwater".
brilliant!!
pretty nice
wow!!!! what`a pretty oldskool!!
excellent dot effects!
Great demo. The music is a so inspired by Pet Shop Boys. though, so that it leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.
you know I love this raster style fx :)
The thing kicks!
The thing kicks!
I dig this a lot
\o/
cool
nice
That's one simple way of getting around the max. 2 colors per 8x8 pixel limitation ... but a cool demo nevertheless :-)
And the soundtrack rocks.
Great work, good effects and great music! Very stylish dot effects.
I really enjoyed this. Its fast, fresh, rythmed, with lot's of work on transitions :)
Give me more !
Give me more !
i like the intro noize ;)
Kind of cool.
great
excellent music and dot effects!
so.... good !
pretty nice! vote 4 it :))
nice effects but everything else is just two dots and a pipe.
I LOVE IT :)
So - I spent some time and finally managed to make TR-DOS version (that is here http://yerzmyey.republika.pl/bomb.zip ).
It was mainly for my ZX-Sprinter but also it's kinda gift for all Beta-Disk users. :)

Could someone repost the TR-DOS version please?
BTW, nice.
Really cool. It looks so funky :D

Great
Oh yeah. This was good!

Great style! Nice to see the Atari bombs in a ZX prod :)
nice prod! kind atmosphere
one of my favorites on speccy, the music is just BOMB!
Great style!
What I like about the "Bomb" is just how clever it is. The effects are _clever_ because they can all be done nicely in a frame and because they do not look like attribute effects much of the time (the chunk fade on the twister is particularly neat in this respect). The soundtrack is _clever_, because it uses the style that suits the AY/YM chip the best. The actual content is _clever_, because it develops nicely and at no time feels forced. To my mind, this is great illustration of the fact that demo is a proper composite artform, which cannot be reduced to one particular aspect of it (be it code or graphics or music).
sometimes i need to bomb!
Disapointed effects were 8x8 attribute effects and I feel a lot of the effects could've worked with proper bit-for-bit graphics but overall the production is fun to watch.
Design!
excellent music, clash preventation by using clash :) Great execution.
good
it's da bomb alright!
ST bomb on ZX speccy <3
First time I watched it, I didn't think much of it for some reason (maybe because it was on an emu), but rewatched today using a proper setup and it has definitely grown on me - it's now one of my faves.
This is so amazing!!
bomb!
