With some original music and artwork this would have been much better, but it's still an amazing effect and a joy to watch.

Liked it very much...using the Van Gogh picture with its swirly sky was a neat idea. Only criticism: some of the fluid scenes looked too random...would have loved to see some more interesting shapes.

loved it. really loved it. there were a bunch of demos this year that wanted to win and were biting other peoples styles, this one just didn't seem to care and that was refreshingly honest

teel: at first I thought the same but the music and art are Creative Commons, also they are given credits which makes it perfectly valid and legal and not "ripped". as truck said "maybe unusual" but certainly not ripped.
I think this was really really boring and long. eventhough the artsy concept could have worked.

Refreshingly original, although towards the end it struggled to find enough variation to sustain the entire piece of music (which is understandable... it's not like you could ask the musician to re-cut it).
I don't think an original soundtrack would have improved on this at all, unless it was an original classical soundtrack - the concept just wouldn't have been as interesting if it was visuals synced with an ambient / chillout track or something.
(btw: no, it's not the first demo to use classical music...)

Decent fluidsim, but the Van Gogh-scan is totally out of place, and it went on for too long.
one effect which isnt that interesting. the way van gogh was used just sucked.

Stood out nicely in the competition.
I liked it because it did not feel like being punched repeatedly in the balls or treated like a moron.
I would also give credit to the coder, because scoring such an effect for the whole demo while keeping it interesting, even with the great support of a.vivaldi is quite an achievement.

ripped music. ripped graphics. and a 2d fluid effect on gpu, which doesn't exactly scream out "originality" for me. plus some seriously bad color choices.

Just white screen (ie depending on nvidia-only api) with music by vivaldi. Wonder how much beer it took to get it through the jury.. ;)

Too much PD content (and the Van Gogh didn't fit in at all) but I did like the effect. It didn't really get boring, surprisingly. But next time, make a little more stuff.
As flawed or "lame" as it might be, why the hell not. It's more entertaining than all the faceless, generic ASD-inspired demos.

Problem with 9600m GT resolved by installing the latest forceware drivers (runs 3 fps but, ok).
Imo Van Gogh fits perfectly. And for a moment I tought the demo was going to show some procedural Van Gogh painting, aftert all VG it's flow'ish too... :)

Pretty effect, but it's a bit of a stretch to call this a demo, especially when there's not enough original content to fill even a 4k.
absolutely not my taste. the weakest demo from the compo.
doesn't work on my machine, but I liked it at the stream. Remembers me to the game Plasma Pong ;-)

Honestly, for me this one is the most surprising demo from Assembly'09 which definitely has the best outcome/inputs ratio in the compo (less man-hours, more visual/audio impression). Not so impressive as Assembly 2004 invitation by Moppi Productions, but made on the same way.
