My new ActionScript 3.0 demo. Size: 22K (without music and skybox textures).

Flashplayer 10 required!

I recommend a 2.0 GHz Dual Core CPU at least. I got best results with the Firefox 3 browser.

No Papervision3D used. No Shaders used. This job has been done with the Flex 3.2 SDK only.

nice first landscape scene

Some nice effects and good music. One of the better flash demos.

Very good stuff, and good speed even in fullscreen. The textures look a bit low res then though :)

It feels empty. Some scenes are good, but lack something. I didn't see the sky images, and the last scene was just a white screen. I didn't know flash bugged ;)

I was going to thumb up for the soundtrack, but it seems it's ripped.

Mhhh... I tested both versions once more, the zip and the online version, both seem to be ok. Maybe you got the wrong flashplayer? The current version is 10.0.22.87.

A few words about music:
The song is from Silence, it's called "Cellule" and you can download it as well as the complete album here:

This album is published under the "art libre" licence. This means that you can publish the songs freely as long as you mention the artist. Maybe it's because you got a white screen at the end, but I do mention Silence at the end sequence.

I wish that more people get indicated to this album, since IMO it's just awesome.

the code looks rather good, but as a demo it felt a bit ... empty :\

Nice effects but the presetation leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps you should concentrate more on the cameras, colours and sync next time? :)

nothing wrong with flash, but the total lack of design and utterly horrible colours are still hurting my eyes hours after watching the prod :(

White screen towards end too, Flash v10.0.22.87, Opera v9.64.

+ some effects are nice (and some were done in much better way years ago, even before AS3)
+ you have ideas, you're trying to be original == good way

- slideshow
- sometimes very very slow slideshow, while same thing could be done even in AS2 and could be blazing fast

speed issues are NOT because of flash player - fp10 is capable of MUCH more than this. you're obviously not optimizing your code enough (or not optimizing it at all) - i can see, just by watching your demo, and when it slows down in an unacceptable way, where your code can have some obvious bottlenecks. like kb/farbrausch said years ago... fuckin' learn to code.

nothing personal, i just hate to see slideshow-alike AS2-flash player 8-years ago-alike-untested-buggy-flash-prods, which bring really bad name to this platform. just because you've done some normals calculation and lighting stuff (which looks ugly anyway with so lowres textures and lowpoly stuff).

effects and music don't live in harmony, but there are some nice scenes in there.

I liked to switch between different qualities during the demo. And the white screen at the end is probably a Crash of the flash enviroment, since when i restart the demo, the white screen is still there. Even with a different browser. :(

and about white screen/lack of background textures, when you're giving it as download archive, COMPILE IT WITH FUCKIN' -NO-NETWORK OPTION!!!!111oneone

i was testing it via http on localhost (apache up and running, too lazy to add exception to flash player configuration to run it in standalone player), but keep in mind that they usually have no fuckin' idea about flash player security and how to change it's settings, and they don't have debug version of flash player installed, so they DO NOT GET any warnings - so they didn't even notice the lack of some textures, which is the exact reason of white screen at the end.
