Really entertaining even if I didn't attend the party back then.
Does not work with Tos 1.62 here.
yup, entertaining :)
Paaaarty!
'It's only a tracker screen'
Completely missing how important showing one would be in 2009 (:

Yeah, loved the party and being there. Only annoying thing were the stupids shouting 'Amiga' all the time ;)
What happend to the realtime article show at 15:30? And who was that dumb nazi fucker that was kicked out on day two?

Ahh, memories!
I was part of the travelling party with the maker of this film, I even have an original VCR of this film buried deep in my personal archive, not see it for years. I'd forgotten there was over an hour of it ;-)
Symp' 96 was my first coding party. It had a memorable (as in horribly prolonged and feckin' uncomfortable) Eurolines coach journey which took up a full day each way, so we didn't even get to see the main demo compo's on Sunday night as we had to allow for the time to get back.
It was a cool party, mainly from the point of view of being a first timer. There is an exhaustive (and exhausting!) report written up in Maggie issue 20. This was in pre-affordable laptop days and with no carrying capacity for bulky gear, so the realtime elements were done with purely 'analogue' methods like a pen and notepad!
At the same time, there were lots of lessons learned for the next time (Ditching Eurolines coaches for a decent method of travel being uppermost.)
Best moment - The 4ktro competition, which was probably where all the innovation was going on at the time. On the other hand, the 96k compo was disappointing in the extreme.
Funniest part of the film (for me) - Felice was a lot less married back then. If you look carefully at the graphics competition (entry 18, ooh, around the 46th minute of the film) he used the zoom on his camcorder with good effect, to pick up the bare lady hiding quietly in the background of the picture ;-) Sex-starved? Moi?!!
Happy days!

ELECTRONIC TECHNO-DRONIC
"Ding Dang Dong ... bitte zur Kasse" - being a
mainorganizer was quite fun those days! :-)

can´t hear any sound or is it just my video replayer?
It's your video replayer! ;-)
It shows the big screen most of the time, which is not so bad but not sufficient for a "good" party video.
what paranoid said...
Oha! Memories reloaded :) How young we look there, arf... not a bad party at all even though the 96 compo sucked a lot on Falcon side... But all in one really no replacement for the Fried Bits Parties :/
Haha I remember filming Richard S.(Felice) ;) Also funny to see Richard K. at the end of the video. A shame the quality is so low.
This is nice!
I have finally been able to put this on Youtube - at the following address http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTXJHf5hQ8g.
Hopefully more of you will now see it :)
