I don't really see the relevancy of charts to be honest (might've been useful in teh old dayz, I wouldn't know, I wasn't there then ;), and apart from that this is pretty low on content. Some nice graphics though, but that doesn't really save it from being, well, basically empty apart from the editorial, those charts and what is essentially a copy of the pouet "latest prods" list filtered by platform :)

Okay, disregard that, I completely forgot about the possibility to scroll in the main menu :D
*feels stupid*

well, it aint a zine but well, it has a few interesting reads here and there..
You guys should drop the scene charts and only keep and increase the alternative ones, they're really too embarrassing. And the news are more a summary of the year than anything else. Nice tunes, nice gfx.
quite decent. :)
some silly features in the pc charts are skewing the results for lb and debris..

how the hell did the votes end up as all multiplies of 11?! :D
It's a good read so far.
I dont know what to think now :) Amazingingly amiga'ish ;) Feels like reading an amiga magazine from the 90's on a pc! Love it :) This is what the scene needs now.. Showtime!!!!!!
Looking forward on how showtime evolves further on.. great ! great ! I am happy as a young child :) Respects to RJ+SCX !

p.s. Sir, you mean best pc article writer ;)
"Phoenix edition" - aw sweet, just for me!
The charts were weird.. some entries had groups, some didn't, and it looks like all the points were multiplied by 11. Also tried changing the music during the charts but it kept changing back. Then, most of the scene news was "X: released Y". Hmm.. kudos for releasing something but.. needs work.

+ Great tunes and graphics! (excellent quality!)
- The charts are pure crap (yes, pure crap)
- The Amiga news are incomplete (yes, you have omit very important facts)
+ Some articles, very few, are not bad at all.
Totally dissapointed. It deserved a thumb down but, as I respect the work of graphicians, coders and musician, my thumb will don't be down this time. For the moment!

Nostalgic feelings here! Good job everywhere, especially music and gfx kick ass!
Extremely high production values in terms of graphics and music. Very good work!
I'm not going to criticize the charts or articles this issue because a mag like this needs time to evolve and gather more support/voters. But it has incredible potential with veterans like Fishwave and Kaosmaster involved so I will be hoping for a lot more content next time. :)
I did love the unusual trip article. I'm sure I swapped one or two of those disks myself at one time!

some pretty graphics and music in there.
will give it a closer look before judging...
well its a chart not a musicdisk or a slideshow..

Nice to see good old showtime back on track! :)
Some very nice gfx and tunes, layout and gui could be better but are working. Unusual trip was very nice indeed :)
Needs a lot of work and the charts are ... but nice to see this anyway :)

In 1993, at one year of his settlement in the States, Strider takes an important decision. He quits FLT and signs the end of a long leading career in the cracking scene. A short while after his departure an amount of FLT members get arrested, by Operation FastLink
Either I'm not getting the joke or this is the most retarded thing I've ever read. Operation FastLink was in 2004 so that's 11 years after he quit. If the article's year of 1993 is accurate..
Well "a short while" is a very relative amount of time of course..
Also when the language is of this quality maybe you shouldn't say how you've spent weeks "writing and discussing and proofreading and polishing". Admittedly the Strider article put me off reading anything more from the mag, maybe the other articles were considerably better. I'll never know.
hehe.... magic topping the spandimerda charts, who would have guessed that? :D
badly put together, mediocre writing, many articles are out of date, the seemingly random mixture of (ugly) fonts makes reading a pain, and worst of all, the charts are absolutely meaningless - i mean, 28 voters, of whom at most 10 still actively produce demos? incorrect information for the demozone article, incorrect votecounting (lb should've won, he's in there twice and the secret has been out for years), etcetera.
don't get me wrong, more mags is cool and it's good that you're starting this up again, but the whole effort seems pretty careless and thrown together to me. sorry guys..

gotta agree with skrebbel here... the info on demozone seems to be copypasted from the 2006 infofile, it is totally incorrect for this year's edition. i enjoy a lot of the graphics and music, but not even checking if you copypasted the right article... that's just poor, sorry.
I cant run it, but the screenshot picture rules, so here's the thumb.
i enjoyed the spandimagic charts!
YES! o/
Looks like a good start.. hope you'll get more support/votes for #19. More tagged disks next time please! ;)
Showtime is back! \o/
Great graphics and music. The design and quality of contenst could be better though.

Worse then Hugi
Great gfx and music and many nice ideas where I see much potential... We all know that the charts have to been overworked and that far more voters will be necessary... Nevertheless I like the idea and see that the involved sceners in this project have fun to do it... So it could only get better hopefully... Time will tell for upcoming issues... Finally thumb up for your efforts in bringing Showtime back.
HUGI has a new name \o/
A surprisingly engaging read, despite the sometimes sluggish english. I'm sure that will improve over time. Already looking forward to #19.
Best bits: The floppy disks and Keito's track. Pure magic.

thanks wade for voting me at the charts :P
yes! keep it up!
The release of diskmags these days are allways worth a thumb. I not for the conten then for the effort of putting things like this together with minimal support for the mag-scene. Keep it up!
After reading the whole thing, I got to agree with skrebbel. It's seriously lacking in the copy editing department.
suprisingly bad (after menace made me think it was going to be okay)
Please consider making "no music" option in music menu global. Now it starts music again if i change the section (nice surprise if you cant change volume from full screen)
the diskmag was pure pleasure to read. in my opinion not so much articles but those inside are well selected and i liked also the music gfx and style of this mag. sadly failed to extract this to my amiga disk this time but apart from this ;-) its good stuff.

Best musician? Graphician? Coder? Hmmm...I can't remember what it is you do, but I'm sure you deserved the vote. :)
Sir: what about other stuff, like scans of
- old paper vote sheets
- Letters
- Group Stickers
- 5,25 floppy's

good efforts guys, keep going! Totally great graphics and music!
i hope there will be special charts for wade in future. like "the scene most special people with extraordinary skills" 1. wade 2.wade 3.wade :) no just joking. magazine was ... okay in my books. actually i felt like i could draw you cliparts :)
Really great gfx and music. Kinda uninteresting articles.
Interviewing Maxon saved you a piggy. Otherwise too low on content quality
What sxrebbel said, but great gfx and music, I'm totally in love with "demoscene pirates".
Btw, is there a way to extract the tracks from the .dat file or to download them ?

lol, sgny! :D
SIR>thanks !
Could have been way better. Navigation is a pain. Nice design tho.
I found the navigation a doddle, and I'm drunk!
Hugi rocks ofc. Anyway, a decent first issue. Needs more opinion articles and 'how to make terrorist bombs with condoms, diet coke and mentos' and 'how to dial the Pope for free' type articles, if you know what I mean ;)
Just kidding, but yeah, more articles relevant to our way of life.
Mags chronicle what happened when for a select group of maniacs. Make no mistake, the real world does not care about this and have no staff bothering to write about it.
Charts show who is popular for a certain period. If enough people in the know vote, the charts come close to being representative of the quality of releases. Check for example the PC demo group and PC demo charts. They are maybe not perfect, but not way off either, imo. :)
Grats Stingray \o/ I know you rocked before the charts tho ;)
We all do scene stuff for free in our spare time. If someone smiles from seeing their name in a top ten list, it's a good reward I think :)
So, no excuse left. If you think some other scener deserves to smile, give your votes for issue 19!

meh
Cool..
btw, the Wild slideshow is released by anadune & nah-kolor (not only anadune)
Really kool to see Showtime back on track.
The floppy disks "slideshow" made the prod for me :) Seeing the bad sloppy handwriting of Splatterhead brought back memories ;)
But seriously, PLEASE! Can people STOP VOTING FOR LIZARDKING. He is long gone. And never even was any good musican in the first place. Thank you.

Btw, regarding the charts....maybe its time to combine the Amiga and PC charts more.
F.i having a common vote for:
-Graphican
-Musican
-Editor/Article Writer
Even Diskmag, since there arent that many, and they arent that Platform divided as Demos and intros.
With less categories, I think more people will vote. And you get more votes per category.

hooray!
Some errors (specially in charts), but a nice "start" anyway.
well...
nope

As i read in diskmag, you want to port it to AmigaOS. So, i can help with port to amigaos4. I contacted already with Sir, but he said he "out of busines, and you need talk to others". And message was sended to other also, but no answers from. So, i write here: if coder of this issue in interest to port it to amiga , i can help with it. Just write me at kas1e blabla yandex.ru, or just put your mail here. Thanks.

This production is an ode to bad taste. Just to be sure, I read, took me less than 5 minutes to understand the articles is not structured and the syntax is weak. Better than my english for sure, but we could expect more from a zine.
For the editing.
diskmags for the masses!
Editors?
What Ham said.
It is actually lacking a concept and design. The editing is really a mess.
The code and graphics are OK.

Best Diskmag on Amiga. No other done better.
Should have stayed on Amiga, could have Vandalism News future. Hugi failed for a reason on PC.
WTF?
I'll try to be as much honest as I can here without simply down voting this as a bad production. The articles were interesting, kinda unedited at sometimes, but still interesting. The music was nice, although (and this is personal taste) I prefer to read without music. The graphics were so-so, could have been better but still some nice, some bad gfx. And then comes the diskmag engine (Panorama 2). Without wanting to offend anyone, this is terribly bugged, not working at sometimes and generally gives a feeling that was coded rather sloppy just to have something that holds together the entire diskmag. This with a better coded engine and a little bit more improved graphics would have been awesome. So piggy from me.
