My very first ActionScript 3 / flash demo. Size: 17K (without music). And: Yes. The fractalzoomer is realtime - no precalculations.

Cool. Great music :)
Nice flashdemo and nice music =)
Awesome! Retro feeling at its best :D
Oldschool but done well. And good effects too!
heh, some classic oldschool effects here. Really nicely done actually, certainly for a first prod.
Really great flash code !
Fractalzoomer !!!!!!!!
But... I don't like Design and music.....

But... I don't like Design and music.....
I usually do not like oldskool wanking, but this was a really nice show.
Nice!
Awesomeness in my browser! Can you take me home? :)
Great!
Excellent song, oldskool effects :)
i enjoyed it pretty much !
nice muzaK.!
nice muzaK.!
Respect!
=D!
Wow! It's quite good for a first and I truly enjoyed that!
RE-SPEKT!
Firstie? Man, you're scary.
superb!
Really fast rendering to be Flash, whats the secret? :) Nice effects
Pretty cool for a firstie.
Of course, being a firstie, the presentation is a bit poor but it's promising.

cool :)
GREAT stuff, man ! And the music RULEZ !
Coolmusicindeed...
Awesome stuff here!
I like it!
raster bars scrolling upwards, abrassive effect
transparent plasmas
tunnel effect
real time mandelbrot zoom
3D dots mandelbrot, rotating, zoomin
3D cube with plasma effect textured mapped
cubic 3D object with clouds textures

make the fractalzoomer with as2 and then i'm impressed ;)
Dynamic effect which can really follow the music. Nice work.
Very cool !
cute :)
Great!
coool!
That fractal landscape is just awesome.
SoLo2 took the words right out of my mouth.
peppy music too. :)
peppy music too. :)
I HATE THAT SONG!!!!
but this thing is great:p
but this thing is great:p
what said
I don't get it. Is this sort of thing difficult to code in flash or something?
I don't like the song but great flash demo anyway
what solo2 said. for once.... I did not long for flashblock!
Cool demo. But the song made it for me...!!
for anyone who wants the song, found it here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/playlist/41822

and your thumb, Sir.
Very nice! loved the effects, old-style plasmas were nice :) Voxels, yummy!
i do like the music, but its not yours so that doesn't count toward the prod imo. decent effects. piggy
Cool and Awesome at the same time
for the fx.. music and presentation where a bit weak
very pretty!
most so called oldskool prods sux hard.
this one somehow manages not to...
keep up the good work!

Them music is not my favourite, but the gfx was really great
oh wow.
I've programmed in Actionscript. That must have taken a long ass-time to code.
Especially, well, anything in 3D. Just making something look 3D in flash is pretty hard (well, without like, going into frame by frame animation...)
great music, and very well done graphics for the program used.

heh, a lot has changed since actionscript 3 though :)
wow! this rocks... great debut! =)
I'll imagine it without the music - quite boring effectshow from 93 :) nice for first one though, dunno about as3 as demoplatform.
Entertaining, and kudos for doing it in flash! Nice song too, not your usual demo soundtrack.
Nice music.
loved the visuals, couldn't stand the music
RU-LE-ZZ. How you doing so fast render?! It's seems impossible! Music - cool too.
Very cool, yes, AS3 rockt ;-)
Nice one - I don't dig the singing but that's a matter of taste!
nice one , esp. fractals ... music not my cup of tea.
meine fresse, aus bassum :D da gibbet die beste "müllhalde" der welt, das soll aber nix negatives über dieses doch sehr nette flash heißen *ROFL*
ok, sorry for posting german ;)

masterpiece!
thhe music is incredibly good.

Music ruleage, nice package overall.
Wow, ActionScript can kick some major ass!
Very nice!
Cool code, very good for flash. Too bad most people havent seen Pornophonique live because this song is rather old. Quit hiding here, visit Demo parties! :P
8bit!
nice one.
btw the music is from pornophonique.
you can download the album here for free
they had a great gig on bp05 or bp06..

which flash version does support AC3 (it kickass for webs :D)? i am good w/ old AC so it mightn't be big problem i hope so.
nice music and sweet show out there...
Impressive.
music.
+ music (but it's not yours, it's 'borrowed', credits are in place, fine, but what i'm going to comment is basically your code)
+ fractalzoomer (not so hard to code, and i already saw one being used as a texture in fully textured (with perspective) environment, in as3
+ voxels, but again, flash is very specific platform, and some effects with a little bit of thinking are far more easier to code than some people think...
+ overall feeling - not so bad
- most effects would be ok at best, year or two ago, but we have 2008. go and check out some recent flash stuff here, because this is actually very far from actionscript 3 limits
- cube - fine. but where is perspective? if there is any, i can't see it. learn how to use flash.geom.Transform (and use Mathematica instead of looking into papervision3d sources to get some usefull formulas, you'll learn something new. realtime perspective-correct texture mapping with realtime tesselation in actionscript 3 IS possible)
- it's not a demo imho. it's intro. and it could be actually released as 32k, if you would make it work without the music, too. again, search for flash stuff here and see what demo is.
- i can guess what did you use, but if something doesn't scale well for higher resolutions - it's not the way. again, we have 2008. at least add fullscreen option with hardware scalling (available since flash player 9.0.115, flash.display.Stage.fullScreenSourceRect), if your engine is too slow to render stuff at native desktop resolution
i love when people without any idea about what as3 is capable of, find flash stuff like this impressive.
would be a thumb down, but since it's a first prod... piggie.

watched it again, yeah, perspective is there (cube), but i have strange feeling it's hiding affine mapping :P
Correction:
- the music isn't mine, that's true. I'm a coder. Every group has a musician to do this additional stuff. This is a one-man-show, recognized that?
- and a fractalzoomer isn't so hard to code? Maybe that's true. But all zoomers I saw yet were pre(!)-calculated, eating many MB of your RAM. This one is done with one(!) bitmapData.
- I'm relatively new to AS3. Neither I earn any money with it, nor I call myself a professional flash coder. So most effects are oldschool, naturally.Tell me: what did you learn first? Some "oldschool" algebra or some impressive stuff like a Fourier Transformation? I didn't expect my little demo to get so much response and compliment, but I am happy about the
fact some people having fun with it.
- It's not a demo, it's an intro. Okay. Hair splitting can be fun, hm?
- Cube: This cube IS perspectively correct. A simple screenshot will prove this. And it is tesselated, too. Look at my website and you will find a slower moving textured cube with perspective correction along the z-axis.
- I know completely nothing(!) about PV3D except of its existence. I never used it. Neither as framework nor as source to play funny copy&paste with it. All the 3D stuff is done by myself, so the cube and the fractal landscape. I wonder how you can claim such a bullshit, sorry. But maybe the only reason is... enviousness.

my comment about pv3d was about future learning, not about this particular demo/intro (whatever). and yeah, i saw those examples, pretty good actually, and i'll repeat it one more time: use hardware accelerated fullscreen mode. i know you've downscaled everything to the resolution which fractalzoomer is capable handling of, but that could be avoided, and it all would look MUCH better.
first thing i've learned was assembler on Z80, 16 years ago :P i have nothing against oldskool, i love oldskool. it's just about execution, which is NOT bad (do you see any thumb down here?), it's just could be better. but as i've said, i know it's your first prod and i DO respect it. so don't get my comments wrong, and watch your usage of 'bullshit'. greetz.

fx was good. (i liked the fractal zoomer.)
and nice trax.

Nicely done.
nice direction.
very nice oldskool demo!
Rulez very much
Nice effects well sequenced
all i see is one historically incoherent codercoloured effect after another. yes, effect transitions are sequenced to the ripped music, but that's really all it's got as far as proper design goes.
flash may be slow, but that's not an excuse for ugliness. next time get someone with taste to choose the colours, kthnx

The music was terrible, and the effects were ok...the only thing saving you from a thumb down is the fact that this is your first prod.
havoc: keep in mind :
- 1 guy prod.
- his first intro.
- platform is slow!
for firstro and 1 guy prod. i guess he done way better than some parties out there.

Nice coding in flash!
Hellooo! the days of Flash 7 are over. Flash 9 and 10 are really fast.
first of all, i would certainly downthumb my own first prod, would it be released today.
secondly, i find it hard to consider someone who claims extensive programming knowledge on his website to be a n00b.
and last but not least, flash is indeed slower than some other means of development, but i still doubt that it forces you to select straight RGB colours on any occasion.

Sorry, but Who Killed Travolta? / evoflash already had real time fractal zoomer two years ago. Also I had hard time looking at that stampsized viewport which made me think that someone just pulled out bag of ye old demoeffects around and coded old bitmap stuff way unoptimized. Flash can do fullscreen 800x400 easily.
Thumb for a firstie, voxels+fractalzoom was a nice idea.
lame music, and needs some overlays... and the design is shit.
Music sucks, but the codework is fine. Needs a little more transistions between effects tho. The basic loader was a neat idea tho.
Pretty good for a first one.

design and flash is cool...

nice
super duper
I have no clue about flash, and it seemed a little sub-par, but for a first demo it's fine.
Most important of all, it had a good flow and a nice pace. Cool.
