Indeed a fantastic demo! Effects and music just rock! It's a pity, that rage didn't produce some more productions on the PC-Platform.

The ambient thriller music atmosphere and the fx are great! Ok,. 3d textures sometimes look ugly, but it rocks overall! That rage thriller atmosphere demos with that great 2d and nice 3d stuff rockz!!!
"PUNISH YOUR MACHINE!" Damn right, this is one of the best demos ever released, should have won at TG97.
in the old times before subpixels were mainstream this used to be my example of how not to code:)

My favourite demo ever. Music rules and there was something really innovative when it came out. The 3d engine was just "regular" but the feeling is awesome anyway.
Come to think of it, most of the technical gee-whiz was already shown in their TP'95 demo. (Especially the per-pixel bumpmap thing looked far more awesome than in this one But that aside: Robotnik is a classic. The king of dark demos.

this is a great demo. music is just great and every other stuff is cool too. thumbs up for this one.
Very good code, very atmospheric music, however, lacks design a bit, and camera movements are pretty rectangular. Thumbs up nevertheless.

I liked it too, though I haven't seen it in years. but err, yep, just one look at that screenshot reminds that this demo indeed had some of the ugliest texturing ever accomplished. but they really did have excellent code.

who said about Robotnik's style? I love this style :). Robotnik has a great dark atmosphere! It rulez and it's a Must See.

One of the best dos demos i can remember!
This was one of my favorite demos ever.. the design was indeed a tad iffy, but the music RULED, and some of the effects are just plain incredible. Has some problems running on modernish hardware, but if you can get it to run, it's worth it. RAGE fucking ruled.

Just saw it for the first time (thanks for the video!). Maybe I should have watched it already 8 years ago because now it didn't do anything for me. Nice 3D engine but I didn't like the music and some parts felt a bit stupid.

Hard to judge from today's perspective. The vectors are somewhat ugly and shaky and the whole thing lasts way too long. A couple of parts like the face still look nice, though.
This demo has the best soundtrack of all time in the demoscene. Nothing can ever compare to this.

I've checked this recently and to my expectation this kind of awesome prods mature with dignity. What a show it was back in the day and what a show it still is. Well done Rage for making something timeless!

hilariously bad, but at the same time almost could've been great had some of these ideas been pulled off with some taste. there were a lot more successful demos in 1997 that did better by simply aiming lower and doing what the technological and artistic landscape was better equipped for

While I still do enjoy it, it has some really bad accuracy issues all over the place and the (what looks like) non-interpolated camera paths are really jerky.
The music is still great tho!
