Crypt triggered my auto-thumb-down.

Besides code, gfx and music rippers they're also style rippers now.

Looks like a Triad demo to me :)

Still curious about the concept and execution - i mean borrowing someone's style is one thing, but succesfully implementing it along with a Triad-worthy concept... naah - I doubt it :)

@Sander: "Still curious about the concept and execution - i mean borrowing someone's style is one thing, but succesfully implementing it along with a Triad-worthy concept... naah - I doubt it :)"

I showed this pic to a friend of mine before release and he simply said "Nice idea. Triad like".
Sometimes the imitation is better than the original but not in this case. And I still have a lot of miles to walk before taking my own path.
The Triad-worthy concept like you call it, is that capacity to get the right level of empathy. Moreover, their works are always presented and constructed in a nice metaphoric and CLEVERNESS way; that's may be why I look up to DCMP, Deev or TwoFlower art.

The demo itself is very short and nothing special (as expected...). This screen part above is inspirated by a Slayer video clip. Never been a big fan of Slayer and have to admit that most of their videos clips are not very good excepted for one I saw few times ago, called "Eyes of the Insane". It turned out to be an extreme violent but brilliant anti-war video clip;
The director was obviously inspirated by "A clockWork Orange" and "Full Metal Jacket". The main character can't associate his learned educational values and the horror of war, it leads to hangs himself at the end. I didnt mean to make something morbid or hurting and if you feel like I did it simply means that I failed.

1x1 : The Syndrom/?? (used without his permission).
music by Maktone/Fairlight (used without his permission)
In the title pic I used Photoshop to extract a woman from an advert, I pixeled and coloured up her using the excellent P1;
The little space invaders was inspirated by Taitos' famous video game.

Sorry for the dead link, I did it at 1.00 am. I'll fix it when I'll be back at home.

@Nori, Fair enough. I appreciate the ambition and understand why you take that direction of development. At first i thought it was another DFlame ripoff action, but i know you are different and have different intentions accordingly.
Still, using 2Flowers style is a logical result of the path chosen, yet this is where things might get mainstream. It's the way the market works, but it somewhat devaluates the Triad releases in a way..

"The Triad-worthy concept like you call it, is that capacity to get the right level of empathy."
I believe empathy is a base for conceptual thinking. Imho it's only Iopop and Twoflower doing Triad worthy concepts ;) Deev has never done such demo, and DCMP... well,.. does her thing.

And Nori, find another group. Crypt is far below your standards and obviously the group members ain't supporting you developing as a coder/designer.
Besides that, Crypt can't do any good these days in the scene.
My advise, join another group or start your own but stay with a ten feet pole away from those bunch of losers.

Just my 2 eurocents.
