the beeps really need a bypass but i guess those were system events not intended to get triggered by the app per se?!
the gfx effect was quite uneventful though, needed more motion, maybe assign some parameters to mouse position and such stuff would be cuter..

What I like is how utterly creepy it is to see one's desktop maimed. Or even touched.

...it is meant to be executed while you doing something else - probably working hard :). it's something like a desktop perception filter, not a run'n'enjoy intro.
vista probabably doesn't allow to draw directly into the desktop device context. otherwise it shouldn't be critical, it uses only simple gdi functions...
