a great show with a real gothic and oppressing mood ... because of the mood, many people don't like this demo, but it is a matter of taste ... anyway, this demo is technically perfect

a great demo, with an incredible atmosphere, and some insanely great scary pictures by nytrik.
I'm just trying to catch up to fractalgp in glops. :) But of course I like this demo a lot. Not for the faint of heart.
I was there at Wired98 and this demo hit like a bomb. Everyone was totally smoked after seeing it - the dark atmosphere, created by the awesome artwork and soundtrack, holds you by the throat and won't let go until the very last pixel has moved out of sight.
A deserved winner, it enriched my experience of the very last Wired.

Awesome piece of art... one of my fave demos of that year... IIRC the problem wasn't speed, but the RAM the thing needed, the code was cool enough

Kickass soundtrack, still love it ! I think this one is better than Shad2. A windows port would be very nice :)
I agree with mnemonix, windows-port would be nice (but please not with the shad2 system, it looks like there's not been taken care of the pitch). And that it's far better than Shad 2. The music is also a lot cooler :)

This is for sure one of the BEST demos from the 'good old days'...which still has its bits to compete even with nowadays prods as well and would beat various of them for SURE !!!

uh oh, this one was a great show overall, but i think i've never seen it completly because it always crashed in a different way ... very creative :)

Solution for this 'crashes' is to start shad again and skip all parts shortly after music starts with 'esc' !! This way you can skip all parts already seen and then watch the last part (after the alien scene...dead guy sitting down etc...) finally! ;-)
The last part is really WORTH watching it as well of course! GREAT music and a great FINAL end for the whole demo!
Try to watch it completely...you won't regret ANY second of it! I promise !! ;-)

Back then I was a little newbie trying to release his third demo. I got some difficulty to display good triangles with sub pixel accurancy.... and Shad was shown on the BigScreen and I still remember the impact of this demo.
This is one of my best scener's memory.

Too long and cheap exploitation of lowest level emotions - seems to be quite a standard for Cocoon. No thumb down only due to production date.
