I don't care which port is official or not. Anyway, Gamma 2 is far away from the excellence of the first Gamma intro. But not bad though.
And btw, Gamma 2 is imo from TP 7 while the first Gamma intro is the Abduction release.
Woot, thanks, maker of this port! Been wanting this one since the original ran in 15-bit color. And I have to disagree with Crest, I enjoy this one at least as much, if not more, than the first Gamma. It's just slower paced and has more colors. Though I'm not sure there's any actual raytracing going on (looks more like envmapping to me), it looks pretty.

no, it's not raytracing; it's a 3d engine with bilinear filtered, but all is explained in the infofil-u....

by the way, seriously, there's something wrong with this port: the colours are incorrect. if you compare this version with mine (or with the original version) you'll see that the colours are much more saturated (see the yellow torus part at the beginning).

Some individual ideas were interesting, but overall it was just kinda average.
I think this is caused by the bilinear filtering I'm performing on the original textures, the algo is not the same as the original code. I didn't recode the blitter, just converted everything to 32 bits truecolor and linear interpolation for the low/medium quality modes. But the secret parts are working :)
Really nice intro. I think I even enjoy this sequel more than Gamma1 because of the more calm atmosphere. Rules.

dake, that's because the original wasn't bilinear but bicubic ;) In fact I used bicubic just about everywhere since it's so cheap when just doubling the resolution. It does make quite a difference.
